Any antique store was willing to make a deal on a cherub lamp with crystals and angels is my kind of store. Real fun people in the store to make sure you’re commenting see if you can make a deal with them

When I get out of Santa Fake for the day and head south to the Darkside, I try to visit Morningside Antiques. I collect vernacular photographs, the stranger the better, and this is the best place in town to feed my addiction. Also, the folks who work there are friendly, interesting, and funny and the customers tend to get into the spirit of the place too. Amazing-Amazing!-merchandise and I want that child’s coffin. Their goods range from the sublime and beautiful to the outrageous and tacky and the folks there are true artists when it comes to displays that are masterpieces of dubious taste. I always take lots of photos when I’m there and they’re cool with that. I usually grin a lot and say things like«Oh, God, that’s horrible!» They have a stuffed whale penis, by the way, which one must see to believe. It would be a perfect inheritance for that asinine relative who asks that you remember him/her in your will.

Love, love, love. I love antique stores and this one has to be the most unique. Dean is amazing, well-spoken, fun and knows tons of interesting information! They have so many unique and amazing things. I could stay in their for hours. Amazing furniture, oddities and even items from the Byzantine era! If I could, I think I would buy everything in there. I can’t even pick what I liked best. The store is well organized, clean and the staff are beyond fantastic.

I come from a antique collecting family and now that I’m in my mid 30’s, I myself am starting to get into antiques and interior design. Morningside is my go-to for any project I have. Their unusual and beautiful collection is like no other. I can find the usual claw footed dinner table or a beautiful Polynesian chest… but I can also find the unusual church pew(which makes a great dinner table bench) or mounted Bison Head. It’s such a great spectrum of items here, whomever does their purchasing has a great eye for the usual AND unusual. The staff is super friendly also. Most shops treat me like I’m about to steal something but not at Morningside, they are all friendly and seem like a old friend. Dean over there is a creative genius… tell him about your project or design thoughts and he will blow you away with creative and unique options you would have never thought of on your own. Thanks Morningside for being such a fun and friendly shop! I’m on my way over there now to find a coffee table… SOEXCITED!!!

I’ve been here several times. This place has some amazing and very unusual stuff. Some antiques and some new stuff, and all unique looking. I’ve seen lots of things I’d like to buy, including something they maybe call«Abominable Snowman Chairs». These chairs look fantastic and are maybe the most comfortable chairs I’ve ever sat in. Unfortunately, I live in Philadelphia, and everything I’ve wanted to buy there is pretty big, so I haven’t bought anything. But…in terms of shops on Central, I’ve been to lots of them over the last 30+ years, and this is one of the coolest. If you just visiting Alb or you live here, definitely worth a stop. (not that it matters, but online it’s noted that Morningside Antiques is the same thing a C. Dimery Antiques. Here’s a link to the C. Dimery website with more info… )
