I got the tureen of chicken, tofu and vegetable soup. Surprisingly fresh and delicious and only $ 5.

Trying to call in an order, you’d have better luck trying to get in touch with the president of the United States. And talk about slow. You can walk in, having called your order in and still have to wait up to 45 minutes for them to cook your order. And the lady cashier is extremely rude. It’s 50 – 50 as to whether or not the food is good enough to put up with that kind of service.

The food was good. The service was dissapointing. We walked in for the first time and didn’t see a menu in the front so we didn’t know if we needed to find a table or order at the register. We walked up to the register anyway and the woman was talking on a cell phone. She grabbed a paper menu and handed it to us without saying anything. Still confused we went to a table to read the menu. It was only after other people came in and ordered at the register that we realized what we were supposed to do. We both ordered lo mein. I got the beef lo me in and my boyfriend got the beef, pork, shrimp, and chicken lo main. Both tasted good and everything tasted fresh. The only umpleasent taste was from the ice in the coke machine. If I ever go back it will only be as carry out. The food is decent and it’s conveniently close to me but the bad costumer service will keep me from eating there. Also the place is too quiet, It felt like we were eating in a Library.

The food is delicious. I only order carry out and it is always hot and the serving size is large. The wait can be extreme most of the time so call ahead and give it a good 30 minutes before picking it up.

1 star only because i cant give a zero. I was so disappointed with this place. While passing through the area I was craving some chinese so I stopped at new dragon. I decided to play it safe and order sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and the cashew chicken. The sweet and sour chicken had little to no flavor and tasted as though it was fried in old grease. The sweet and sour sauce was very bland. The chicken in the cashew chicken was EXTREMELY dry and the baby corn was so spoiled that you could smell it when opening the container. I had high hopes for this place. Definitely will not be back.

Decent. Beef lo mein is actually really good. Their best soup is the hot and sour. Food is fresh but wait time can be long. Not all of the food is good. Beef with snow peas is good, but beef with mixed veggies is blah.

Food is good here. If you are carrying out I would suggest calling ahead because sometimes the wait is little long.

The food here is not very good. We ordered three things to test the restaurant to see how well the food is here, because finding good chinese food is difficult. We ordered Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Chop Suey, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Of the three we ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken was the best. Although I use this term lightly because it is just friend chicken with sweet and sour sauce that is shipped to every Chinese takeout restaurant. The fried rice was very light in color. It was also very bland tasting and after one bite I never touched it again. At least use the darker soy sauce to give it some color! I’m looking for a darker version without peas and carrots. Can’t stand peas and carrots in my fried rice. The chicken chop suey was alright. The only issue I had with this was that it left an after taste that I didn’t care for. I also didn’t care for how it was packaged for take-out. It was just in a Styrofoam container that leaked all over the bag it was in. Made getting everything out when we got home very messy. Overall I will not be returning.

This is my favorite Chinese take out. Always fresh, always good and the servings are huge.

It is very hard for me to understand how other reviewers are giving this place high marks. It’s like we’re talking about 2 different restaurants. A friend and I visited today for the first time. The first thing I noticed was the table was sticky. I ordered My Gu Guy Pan. My friend ordered Kung Pao Chicken. We were both disappointed. The chicken I got was white meat but tough. Definitely undercooked. Not unsafe – but not tender. The chicken also smelled weird. Not like it was going bad – just weird. My friend didn’t eat his meal. I took my chicken home to re-cook. There was no point arguing with the woman at the register(there’s no wait staff. You walk up to the window, order, then pay for it before you see your food). I would never go there again. With so many good Chinese restaurants in town, why would anyone? The one positive thing I can say is it was cheap. We had egg drop soup, an egg roll each, rice and an entrée for $ 7.00 each.

New Dragon is the best Chinese restaurant we’ve found in the South Valley. The food is good and freshly prepared. We always order take out(the inside of the restaurant is clean and spare). Don’t expect a decorated fancy restaurant. Since moving to Albuquerque we have tried 5 Chinese restaurants and New Dragon is the first one we have returned to. At each restaurant we have ordered chicken fried rice. At most of the restaurants we’ve visited the fried rice tastes like cardboard. The taste was that of frozen fried rice that has been microwaved(similar to what you could buy in a grocery store’s frozen food section). Many times the rice didn’t have anything in it other than chicken(no veggies, etc.) At New Dragon the chicken fried rice is great. It is flavorful but not too much so. It includes all of the necessary components: egg, veggies, bean sprouts. The fried rice tastes fresh and delicious. We have returned multiple times since our original visit. The chicken friend rice has not let us down yet. Other dishes have been hit or miss. We ordered Sesame Chicken our last visit and I wouldn’t order it again.

This has the best Chinese food in town. I have come here for years even the original spot on coors. No other place comes close to the flavor. Mandarin Beef and Orange Chicken are my favorites. Crab Rangoon is awesome. Never disappointed.

Great food. Despite what other people have posted, I’ve been coming here for years & never had a problem. The food has always been hot and delicious. The service has always been fine & I’ve always been satisfied.

Update. I’m going to try to revisit this location before 2014 is up. Wish me luck. I hope to bump the stars up to at least the three, but I’m scared. We shall see… — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Yesterday(4÷9÷2013) I walked out of this restaurant even before solidifying my order because customer service is not known here. Based on the lack of customer satisfaction, I had to question their specials because what if I did not like one of their dishes — would they have gladly made me a different one? They would have, yet they would have been upset, and they probably would have to charge me for both meals. The owners need to realize that if they want more customers, then they need to provide great customer service. It’s not rocket science — it’s thinking of the other person [even if the other person is on their lunch break from their rocket science studies].
