I went in looking for some old comics and was able to find one I was interested in. I asked the woman behind the counter to get if down. She used one of those mechanical grabbers to take it down. I thought this was a pretty rough way of handling the book but then I realized it and all the books on the top shelf were severely bent. I asked for a flat surface to take a look at to book the woman grabbed the book out of may hands informed me it was $ 50 and that customers are not allowed to handle books over $ 25. When She took out the white gloves(Seriously not a joke) to display the bent comic that even in good condition would likely be less than $ 50 I had to walk away. I went to Astro-Zombies found a much larger selection of older comics in far far better condition at much more reasonable prices. Most likely will never go back.

Just moved to Albuquerque from Grand Rapids, MI and I’m on the hunt for a new comic book store to call home. Back in GR, my shop of choice was the absolutely fantastic Vault of Midnight, so my bar is set way high. A quick search on Unilocal brings me to Old West Comics and Games. First, the positives: The owner is friendly and helpful. Bonus point for playing music from EarthBound and Final Fantasy XII. I like the selection of old 80’s and 90’s action figures. The negatives: Book selection very limited if you’re looking for something other than superhero titles. If you’re into anything more obscure than Batman, look elsewhere. Mostly just single issues available, which is fine for some folks, but I prefer trade paperbacks. Stock is disorganized and messy — aforementioned toys are just dumped into display cases, books have no discernable order, and games are just haphazardly stacked on top of each other. I find myself very underwhelmed. My search continues.

Very laid back and friendly atmosphere. The owner is knowledgeable of the comics she carries and keeps up to date on new issues. As a female comic reader I like meeting other female fans as well. We totally geeked out over Loki. Decent selection of new comics plus she is willing to order for you. Could have a bit better trade selection, but overall I loved the eclectic mix! I will definitely be back.

This was a good shop for comics, vintage figurines, and video games. … The stores kind of haphazardly sprawled out but it’s fun to explore.

I had a really good time hanging out at Old West Comics(& Games) Upon entering the store I was immediately greeted by Margret, who I believe owns the place. She was very helpful and she knew her stuff. The Selection is rich and eclectic. Lots of new and used toys. Definitely worth a visit.

I like this shop because it has a good selection of comics, colectibles and games, even Magic the Gathering. The owner is willing to work if you have questions about the merchandise and if she doesn’t have a new comic she will special order it and she will contact you when it comes in. Another bonus for this store is if you have children the owner had made the merchandise family appropriate, which means some people my not like it but if you want to bring your kids. Something that the store doesn’t really advertiser is that the store does a gaming night once a month which allows you to make friends or at least try a new game without purchasing it :) I like this store and would recommend it to friends and family.

I went here looking for a Star Wars toy for my brother. The woman that works in this store is pretty rude. There was terrible customer service and some haughtiness over a $ 3 toy. There is a good selection of Star Wars toys. It didn’t seem like there were many other interesting things. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends.
