What a great toy store! And such fantastic customer service. They offered to wrap the birthday present we bought and had it wrapped and ready to go before we were done checking out. Amazing!!!

This is a quality small business that goes above and beyond. My mother frequents this business. She is physically limited and very old fashioned. She still writes checks for one thing, they welcome her with a smile every time and assist her with anything she needs. My brothers kids are out of state so they help wrap and prepare to ship. Offer her a seat if she needs to sit and rest. They are polite and helpful. While visiting today my brother and I saw first hand why my mother likes them so much and travels 30 miles to them. They are worth it. Thank you

Excellent store with friendly staff and touts I grew up with when I was a kid that I had not seen in years and forgot about. Can’t wait to come back with the kids

Nice selection of unique and well made toys. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Gifts are well priced. You will pay a little more but the cost includes quality and free gift wrapping included. All of my daughters gifts are now wrapped beautifully. Another thing I appreciate about the service is that the gift wrap is not covered in logos and is just regular gift wrap. If you sign up for the catalog you will get coupons. Please come here before looking at the box stores. These are not cheap plastic junk but more educational and fun.

As a grandmother with six grandchildren, I’ve seen my share of toy shops. And this classy toy store is one of the best. You can tell by a quick peruse of the stock that the proprietors of Out of the Blue have sought out both original and high-quality toys — a far cry from the plastic junk or cheap knock-offs made in China that fill most toy stores. I was looking for an easel for my young granddaughter, and they had just the right study wooden one for a three-year-old Rembrandt. I probably paid more than I would have elsewhere for a flimsy easel, but this one will both stand up to hard use and last until her masterpieces are being auctioned off at Sotheby’s. The best touch came with the salesperson’s cheerful offer to gift-wrap(without charge, of course) my four-foot-tall purchase. The gift-wrapping was done both quickly and stylishly. If you’re looking for the best place in ABQ to find a fetching, creative, or well-made toy, this is it.

Walking around and seeing what was here was just as much fun as buying stuff here. I’m coming back!

This is a locally owned toy store and while they are a little cramped, it’s due to there super cool selections. A kid or adult can get lost for a time perusing there selections.

«I can’t honestly think of a reason Out of the Blue doesn’t get five stars.» So said my wife when we discussed the review I was going to write. If that’s how you feel about it, why don’t YOU review it? The truth is, the only knock I got on the place is that it’s kinda small and crammed. I’ve never entered the store on a quest for a gift and left empty handed, for any kid, big or tiny. International selection of really terrific, hands-on, crafty, educational and tangible toys, and the few that need batteries won’t make you want to pull your hair out. Service is generally impeccable, two people always man the register area, they’re knowledgeable and friendly, the mark of a great local business. And here’s the icing on the cake: they’ll wrap the present free of charge. When you have one of those Dang! Forgot to get the kid a gift! moments, get thee to Out of the Blue. Besides, who wants to fumble with the wrapping paper, anyway? P. S. A note on prices. Usually these people compete with everyone but Wallyworld. If you do find something that seems over-priced, take a quick look at where it was manufactured. There’s a good chance it’s American or European. That’s the cost of craftsmanship.
