Piggyback Freight

Just wanted to give an update as promised. Well, no surprises, Shawn transported my two special cars from Albuquerque to Milwaukee and everything went very smooth. Just like the first transport — great communication and fast delivery. There is nothing that could have been done better. Piggyback Freight has done an excellent job for me! Thanks again Shawn!

This is a frustrating review to write. I’m sorely tempted to give them one star. I’ll start with that.
My lady and I recently moved. Having moved before and done it ourselves we decided to hire a company this time. We talked to several companies and this one came in closest to the price we were looking for. I, unfortunately, had to move before she did so I couldn’t be there when the big day came. However things went great. All of our stuff was already packed so they just had to move it on to their truck.
HOWEVER, we had more boxes than we had initially guessed when we told them what we had. We were worried about this and figured we may have to drop-​ship the extra stuff. On the day of the move they said nothing about this so we both thought it must not be a big deal.
Fast forward a few days, they’ve arrived at our new home, unpacked our goods, and we’re getting ready to settle accounts (we paid half up front). At this point, AFTER everything is done they bring up how we had too much stuff and that we need to pay more (on the order of hundreds of dollars). Unfortunately I was at work when this happened so there was no argument put up by my lady. They laid some trip on her about how they ended up missing a shipment because our stuff took up too much room. That is totally believable but why on earth didn’t they bring it up at the start? If they needed more money because we had more stuff than we originally stated they should have said it when they were loading the truck. Then if we decided for or against it would have been fine. The irony being before they showed up we had talked about the necessity of needing to pay more given the extra boxes.
To sum up, overall the service was fine. They were nice folks, our stuff arrived in one piece. BUT I don’t appreciate being «given» extra services and told I need to pay for them after the fact, it’s remarkably unprofessional and soured the whole experience for me.
