They must have made some major improvements! I was a little leery about booking over the phone due to previous reviews, even though Expedia gave them 4 out of 5 with over 60 reviews. I am very pleased to say, we found this our best stay yet on a two week vacation! The room was wonderful. We had two queen beds and a pull out bed. There is a sink, microwave, big bathroom, desk, two tv’s, closet and dresser plus more little things. Everything was very clean and nice. The beds weren’t the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, but they were nice and I slept well. I was happy with our free breakfast. It wasn’t huge or fancy, but it was perfect for us. It contained a make your own waffle station, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausages, various cereals and bread options, plus juices, coffee and tea. Everything was good and the dining area, though small, was clean and nice. Overall, my whole family(parents, us and kids) very much enjoyed our stay and would love to find more rooms for this value at this price. Well worth it!

This place was able to accommodate 4 adults and 2 little girls in the last minute after traveling all day. There were two queen beds in one third of the room, a bathroom with an outside vanity and a front room that had a television and fold out bed sofa. There was also a microwave oven, refrigerator, and a coffee pot in the front room. Other than this being an older room, everything suited our needs. We were also looking for a place with a laundry room. This place had that and an elevator to carry all our luggage. The front desk young lady was very nice and informative and overall our stay was very nice.

The staff here is great! They get 5 stars! The night clerk even moved the shuttle van so we could park by our room. Upon entering our room, we were hit with a wave of heat. After a 12 hour drive that made us nauseous. We cranked the ac. We had to prop the door open to get ac from the hallway. The front desk clerk brought an additional fan up right away. It took about two hours for the room to cool down. The beds were ok. The room was clean. In the morning I was excited for breakfast. The food was ok. But I was looking for some fruit. The bowl of apples was mushy, probably a month old. Gross. As we were leaving we let the maid know. She headed to our room next. We headed down to pack the car and the maid chased us down and handed us our wallet we left in the room with our trip cash and credit cards. LIFESAVER!!! She was so knd and honest! What a wonderful person! That’s why the staff deserves 5 stars!

A little blah, older hotel, had 2 room suite and interior room always 10 degrees hotter than sleeping room. Breakfast Server lacked any warmth but had a tip jar out every morning. Apples were mushy & over-ripe, coffee was weak. Nothing broken but dingy in a lot of places. Hard beds.

Upon my first step into this hotel, I knew it would be awful. The rooms are dark, the bathroom had mold in the grout… I showered with my sandals on since the shower floor looked disgusting. The bed was not comfortable and the comforter looked like it had never been washed. Like the previous Unilocal-er, Jerry, my husband and I were happy we only had 4 hours to sleep until our am flight. Never again.

HORRIBLE! This place deserves no stars. Our room was under repair, and they booked it by mistake. It rained in, and drywall mud went all over my friend’s bed, and the biggest roach I have ever seen was crawling around by morning. The customer service is awful, too. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

We are Choice Privileges members and try and stay at their hotels whenever we travel. We drove up from our home in Las Cruces to see«Beauty and the Beast,» which was playing at Popejoy Hall on the campus of UNM. We needed a hotel nearby and at the suggestion of the Choice Hotels phone reservation operator, it was suggested that we stay at the«three star» Quality Suites on Gibson near UNM. We arrived on the Sunday afternoon of the World Cup match, and were unimpressed with the lobby, however we persevered and took our overnight items to our«King Suite» — a dark, dingy room with a perfumed smell — apparently to cover a moldy smell. I walked in another room which was being cleaned… same smell. I walked in a room where two housekeepers were sitting on the bed watching the soccer match! — same smell! Since we needed to get to the theater, we decided that there was no use changing rooms for one night. The air conditioning unit was set to «on-off» mode with no controls to moderate temperatures. Within minutes we were freezing to death. The sheets were worn and in need of replacement. We suffered through the experience, taking turns getting up to turn the air on and off. We had a dreadful night’s sleep, arising before dawn to flee this place. When I told the clerk upon checkout how disappointed we were, she smiled and said«Sorry.» This was no «bargain» at approximately $ 70 for this dreadful room — and that is with the AARP discount! Upon our return home, I called the«customer service» department of Choice Hotels and had to wait 40 minutes to speak to a «service representative» who listened to the complaint, assigned me a case number, and assured me I would hear from the hotel within 72 hours. It is now over 10 days since our stay… not a word… I called Choice Customer Service again and«only» had to wait 25 minutes to speak to a representative. She said I should have received a letter of apology from the hotel. I did not. After much prodding, I was offered a «$ 10 goodwill offering» or 300 points. I took the points and will hope that we have better luck in our future travels! If Choice Hotels are supposed to be rated each year, they missed this dump. I would take away all its stars and leave it in the dark.
