The one option we could find for a local CSA that delivered. First time they delivered to the wrong address. The fruit and veggies vary in quality, but overall were good, with good substitution offerings from the standard set for the week. It’s not cheap, but convenient. Milk, eggs, creamer, and other fresh items were good.

We started doing Skarsgard this summer and love it! We started with just the harvest boxes and then quickly realized it would actually save us money to buy as much from them as possible. Their meat is definitely worth the extra money you spend, we noticed a huge difference in taste in the chicken breasts especially. It’s nice because you can order a large harvest box, and swap out some of the veggies for items like tortillas, salad dressing, eggs, milk, etc. It’s just me and my husband, but we typically do a medium or large harvest box 2 times a month, and small the alternate times. We’re spending $ 40 – 50 a week, and only going to the grocery store for a few extra items once a month. The only downsides are the occasional poor quality of some items(mostly leafy greens), the occasional missing item or item that ran out, and the sporadic delivery times. Some days our box arrives at 9 am, and some days its at 5 pm.

Don’t forget to taste your food. It’s easy to do when food consumption is just a constant where everything looks and tastes the same. I was happy when my kids asked, «Why does this tomato look different?» They thought all tomatoes looked exactly the same with identical perfect round form and the uniform Crayola red color, which is actually a great leap forward from the generation who thought all tomatoes came from cans! You pay $ 35-$ 75 online and they drop off the box in a cooler. We got all veggies, but there are eggs, cheese, meats etc. It’s real simplelike. But on the other hand you aren’t just paying more for vegetables that are cheaper elsewhere. This is about purchasing a version of reality where foods look and taste different and four companies don’t have a monopoly on 85% of the food supply. You’re paying for privilege of knowing the back story of your dinner. Food is an important thing. Skarsgard helps you remember that.
