Stacy’s Hallmark Shop

I am a sucker for a Hallmark store…
I love a good card, even though they have become outrageously expensive these days. I always hide a card in my husband’s luggage when he goes on a business trip, and I like to send cards for random reasons to people in my life. I don’t do it often enough, actually, so when I see a good card shop, I like to explore and see what I can find.
Good cards are hard to find these days, actually. They all tend to be very homogenous or too sentimental — or way too stupid. I like intelligent, funny cards — what the heck happened to Shoebox, anyway?
Stacy’s Hallmark has a great variety and selection of cards. I found about five the day I was there, which is pretty good, considering.
They also have lots of fun other stuff — gifts and fun things to look at. Hallmark stores tend to all sell the same stuff, but the good ones also have things the owners find locally or on their own and sell in addition to the usual fodder. Stacy’s has a pretty good variety of standard and not so standard fare, and it was fun to wander the many aisles and check it all out. Drove my husband nuts, so it must have been great!
