Alright stop, collaborate and listen Rice is back with a brand new invention Somethin’ grabs ahold of it tightly Sticks like Elmer’s glue daily and nightly… Sorry, I couldn’t resist. This place is novel for one reason, and that’s basically reason enough to visit. While southeast Asia is flush with sticky rice — for many it’s a staple for breakfast, lunch and dinner — you’ll find this stuff in precisely one locale in the whole of Albuquerque. It’s fun food, too. Seriously, ditch the utensils(after you chop up your chicken and wash your hands, of course) and just shovel this stuff into your mouth; the disposable plates sort of nudge you to get ancestral, and the rice won’t stick to your digits, either. The place reminds me of some hole-in-the-wall spots in Manhattan, where a solid, virtually veggie-free belly stuffin’ runs less than a ten spot, sometimes less than five. Oh, and the spicy sauce in here is totally legit. And speaking of thrift, check out the family deal: $ 25 feeds 4 – 5 folks. Word to your mother, father, sister and brother.

Read comments on this place and decided to give it a try. Great food. Chicken rice and sauce combo are excellent. Not to mention the service is fast and friendly. If you are looking for something different come out to Sticky Rice for lunch or dinner.

Disappointed. Very limited menu. For a minimum $ 7 you would expect more. Honey chicken lacked honey flavor. Steamed rice«not» sticky. Vegetables steamed nicely with no flavor. Sauce given helped, but did not stick to veggies. They need to learn from their grandma how to make sticky rice and food right. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

Under-eye sweat: there’s nothing else like it. Whatever the mystery sauce is floating in the plastic container next to my lunch, it’s spicy enough to inspire the bags under my tired eyes to perspire, and maybe even perk up a bit. The rice isn’t actually sticky, as the namesake implies – in fact it’s just a bit sweet. Goes fine with my sliced chicken and standard-issue bland veg. Everything’s serve on styro and plastic(bleh), but it’s a fast easy lunch just a step above Teriyaki Chicken Bowl. Wouldn’t drive here, but it’s not bad for being in the area. Kind of expected table service, given that I’m the only customer, but I had to walk the 7 feet to pick up food from the counter. Mystery hot sauce is definitely the best thing about this spot.

ABSOLUTELYAMAZING! I stumbled upon this place today. My fiancé and I were trying to find a warm spot with wifi due to the fact we were both working from home for the day. The pictures on the window caught my eye so we decided to give it a try. When we walked in and found out this place was Laotian we were sold. I grew up in MA with Cambodians & Laotians as a child and miss the food very much. This place reminded me of a home cooked meal from my friends home back Lowell. And it was a plus the Qui, the owner, was so nice enough to let us finish our work for the day in his restaurant. We will definitely be returning. So glad we decided to walk in.

We were on our way to grab lunch and only had about 30 minutes. This area of town can get pretty congested with the lunch rush so I was hesitant to go somewhere like Hello Deli where I knew I’d be looking @ 40m minimum. We tried this spot and I don’t regret it. The menu is bare bones, there are less than 10 items up for grabs. But, they are good at what they do. I had the noodles with steamed broccoli. I got noodles with 3 little pieces of broccoli. I’m not sure if there was a broccoli shortage or what but I definitely felt a little cheated. They did give my toddler free noodles so in the end it all balanced out. Also, we were out of there is less than 30 minutes so overall this choice was a success. I would go back to try the sticky rice and the staff was super nice. The best part about this is I think it was about $ 15 for 2(and a half meals) and you can’t beat that with a stick.

It is teriyaki chicken bowl. I did not care for fried rice, but I had salad and it was good. Nothing to write home about.

So excited about this place. Great addition to ABQs growing list of authentic, eclectic restaurants. Grab a plate and go, it’s very casual and reminds me of the plate-dives in Hawaii.

This is legitimate Laotian style sticky rice. If you’re in the area for lunch I highly recommend going to this place. You will not be disappointed.

I’m in town for work and I was pretty excited to see a Lao restaurant on the radar. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Lao food, it’s the same flavor profile as Thai food, but it definitely has it’s own flair. Sticky Rice is not a sit down restaurant, but they have many tables for you to sit at when you get your order. The sticky rice is made well, not too soggy. My favorite was the lemongrass chicken, it reminds me of chicken that my aunts make. The sauce that is served is some sort of hybrid salsa/Lao sauce. That part isn’t really authentic tasting, but I get the need to change the taste of food for local audiences. Overall, the food is good, place is clean, and they are have friendly service at reasonable prices.

Awesome place to grab a quick healthy lunch of grilled chicken with sticky rice and hot sauce. They are quick if you are grabbing a bite to go or sit down and visit with the friendly staff. They also have some other Asian delights.
