UPDATE — last THREE times I’ve eaten here I got the runs — no more — buyer beware. Gone downhill.

Good ol’ teriyaki chicken bowl! Consistent and always fast. I bit pricey for chicken and rice and charge for everything including refills to substitutions but generous portions. A safe bet and rarely disappoints…

I absolutely love this place! Teriyaki Chicken Bowl is to Albuquerque what rain is to Seattle, synonymous with one another. I moved to Maricopa County a while back and tried numerous tcb establishments, no one does it like they do here in Albuquerque. A must go to when back in town. Lucky for me, I moved back and can enjoy anytime desired. As for the food, simple yet done just right, every time! I always stick to the trademark chicken bowl which consists of sticky rice, carrots, cabbage, broccoli and a grilled teriyaki chicken breast. Mind you, the vegetables are steamed but not soggy. Order a double chicken and you can definitely have enough for 2 meals, around 9 bucks. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is the are still trying to nickel and dime their profits off of the chile(.25), refills on drinks are about .50(I think, for I never order a beverage for this reason itself). Btw, the chile is worth it, A great kick and flavor! I’m sure it’s a store bought thing but I don’t know which one it is. These stores are not always the cleanest but not dirty. Due to the teriyaki the tables can be sticky and of course attract flies. Again, this place is well worth the visit. You won’t be disappointed!

This Teriyaki Chicken Bowl location is better than some of the other ones I have been to. It earns an A-OK rating because it is usually clean and serves big portion sizes. I would like to see them offer half noodles and half rice in one of their combination options. The last time I visited TCB I paid $ 0.43 each for the drink refills. I’m surprised that Teriyaki Chicken Bowl is still nickel-and-diming it after all of these years. They lose a star for this. Another star is lost because they are not always welcoming. A «Hello. Please order when you are ready.» would be a nice form of greeting when customers walk near the ordering counter. I’ve been visiting TCB off and on for years, and I rarely hear any greetings from any of the cashiers. Nonetheless, the cleanliness makes up for this lack of communication. I am a returning customer for their clean restaurant, serving sizes, and drive through option. They say that they are a Japanese establishment, so it would be very nice to see more Japanese food options. Tempura would be a realistic option for Teriyaki Chicken Bowl because TCB currently serves fried items. I hope they will expand their menu. For now, TCB is doing okay.

OK, so Im not the usual fast-food type of person… however, when I do get a hankerin’ for green chile… yes this is where i come to believe it or not! The #2 plate is their signature Teriyaki Chicken, pre-sliced for your convenience, over that wonderful sticky rice & some veggies, then they HEAP on the green chile… no portion control in that house & that’s how we like it! #IncognitoTip: If you order first, then ask for the extra side of Teriyaki sauce at the window with a look on your face as though you«ooops, I forgot to ask expression» but don’t actually say those words… you can bypass the .35 charge, lol

The best egg rolls in town. A nice change of fast food pace. Tired of rice — give the noodles a spin. I even like the vegetables they put on top of the chicken bowl. When anyone in my house is under the weather we always get some white rice from here. My ten year old daughter and I can split a chicken bowl and it is more than enough food for us. Of course we have to get a couple of egg rolls too. Just be careful of the entrance/exit. San Mateo can be a bit crazy and there is a bit of a blind spot.

In a world of fast lunches your options can be limited to a variety of hamburgers or foot long sandwiches. After a while you get a little burned out on which to choose. This is why this place stuck out to me. Being new to the city I am always up to trying new things. Teriyaki chicken bowl is a good alternative to the everyday value menu. I needed a quick lunch and then want to be falling asleep at my desk in the afternoon. I have to admit that when I entered this place I was a little skeptical. The place wasn’t empty and wasn’t dirty, but something seems a little off. It almost had a greasy feeling to the restaurant. I approached the counter and was promptly greeted. This put me at ease because the employee didn’t look like they hate their job. The menu has big pictures of the food. They had teriyaki chicken bowls and even noodles and rice. I knew I was in New Mexico when I saw one of the plates had green chile on it. The first time I came here I ordered the chicken bowl and it was the perfect lunch size at a great price. The second time I came I order the chicken plate with the green chile. Both time the food was consistent. This is great alternative to a burger joint and it’s not a greasy or deep fried meal. If you are in area you have to check this place out. In fact they are all over town. So, if you are want a quick lunch that has some vegetables they this is the place. Cheers!

Had the #1 Teriyaki Bowl… Nothing fancy, just good food and good customer service!
