Ordered food for dinner as a pick up order. Tried their pineapple fried rice and spicy noodles. Dessert was sticky rice with mango and vanilla. Food is okay. I have tried several Thai places almost everywhere I go, this place is certainly not the best. Filled our tummies and went to bed, that’s all I would say.

This is one of the times I wish I could give half stars. I really really liked Thai Tip. Looking at the knocked up waitress, it’s pretty easy to tell it’s a family run business which can be awkward for customers but their love for one another truly goes into the food and their specialized treatment of the customers and their family travel photos strewn across the walls makes me feel like we’re being invited into their home. Everything is good. Really good. Took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. I had the Yellow Curry. Although it was already on the pricey side(11.50), I couldn’t help but take advantage of the fact that catfish was on the menu and upgraded 2 $ to get it. The waitress said although she’s personally not a catfish eater(she later explained in a funny story why) she does like that the fish really soaks up the curry. And she was right! It was cooked perfectly fist of all and man, was it delicious! My girlfriend ordered a fat noodle dish with chicken(also on the pricey side) but I don’t know how it was listed. It came with crispy peppers and fresh mushrooms and they tasted like home made noodles with the slight aroma of a fish sauce which tends to overwhelm every Thai dish. However the texture was delectable and the aroma; delicate. We ordered both dishes in a mild/medium spice level and especially the noodles had a very subtle kick to it. Iced tea was great. And despite the waitress being in her 3 trimester, she’s quick to refill your drink! I think we’ll be back to try more.

This is the best Thai I have had in years, so tasty and well prepared! The service is always prompt and friendly. A very good experience every time!

I’m not want for any other Thai restaurant to exist in Albuquerque after trying Thai Tip. I would categorize this restaurant as the ethnic, hole-in-the-wall eatery my fantasies are comprised of. It’s my manic pixie dream girl of Thai Food. I’m pretty committed to trying everything on the menu and I really probably won’t eat at any other Thai restaurants(in the 505) from here on out. As it It turns out Thai Tip is really no secret which is wonderful for the establishment itself yet that’s the only quality that would need to differ in order to elevate this place to my favorite restaurant in the world. Or maybe it being literally next door to my house and having secret menu items just for me. Really, that’s all Thai Tip could do to be better in my book. I feel like I don’t need to describe the food after those statements, especially given the numerous preexisting reviews with excellent descriptions of the cuisine, the menu, as well as it’s execution, but I will say the food is unusually fresh and beautiful. I went a little crazy on my first visit, ordering the Kha Gai soup with shrimp, the green curry with eggplant and vegetables, and the chicken curry, and. .. sorry, there are no words. Fresh, delicious, beautiful, that’s all I got on this one.

The service is terrible. We waited 45 minutes from the time we ordered to get our food(one dish was cold like it had been sitting). When the it finally did arrive we didn’t have any utensils to eat with. The waiter said he would bring us utensils, but he spent the next 5 minutes wiping tables while we stared at our food. Finally we had to get up and ask for them ourselves. The food it self is decent, but way over priced, it was 11.25 for a small bowl of curry.

Excellent Thai food. Spring rolls were fresh and yummy. Chicken Fried Rice with Medium-to-mild spices was just right. Their food runs a little hot compared to other Thai restaurants. Their only drawback is the small dining room and limited number of tables. The wait is worth it, however. Get there early and not have to worry!

I’m not sure why this place is so beloved. The food was OK/pretty good, but not amazing. The pad thai we had was overly sweet and not balanced. Our papaya salad was overly dressed and had been soaking in the dressing too long befor it was served, and the yellow curry was pleasant enough. Then the staff also goes into this explanation about how their medium hot is really the super hot, and then there is New Mexico hot and Thai hot, so that was annoying and confusing. Also, the actual space is tiny and awkward feeling. PS my feet stuck to the bathroom floor, this place a good cleaning!

Excellent Thai food! The food is always well prepared, with on point flavors. If you crave exceptionally spicy food, they won’t disappoint!(Or if you don’t do well with heat, stick to mild.) Their red curry is spot on, very rich and flavorful — I like it with any of the meat options. Their Pad Thai is great comfort food. If you like a sweet drink, the Thai Iced Coffee or Tea is delicious and refreshing(though very sweet… which I loved). Place is small and gets busy quickly so plan accordingly. Prices are a little on the high side but it’s consistently good with good portions. Last time we did take out and the order wasn’t correct… so make sure you check your order so you get what your heart’s craving.

Pretty good pad thai, mango and sticky rice although seasonal is one of my favorites. Small little place. Quick and friendly. I don’t care for their egg roll really.

Unequivocally, the best chicken curry(C1) I’ve ever had. I ordered it New Mexico hot, despite warnings from the attentive and friendly waitstaff. By the end of the dish, I was transformed from a first time guest to a lifelong regular. I was instantly fond of the presentation, the curry in a blue-fish dish and the rice in the shape of a heart. The pitcher of water was also much appreciated. Next time, I’m stepping up to Thai spice level one.

My husband and I love this restaurant, and is one of our favorites in Albuquerque. The service is good, but the food is superb. We really enjoy the NMHOT panang, vegetable curry(add chicken, pad thai and the sticky rice with mango is DELICIOUS! I recommend this restaurant to everyone I know, and everyone has said they loved it :)

I LOVE Thai Tip! I was turned on to Thai Tip two years ago when a coworker took me there for lunch and have been going there regularly ever since. I’ve had the teriyaki fried rice and the pad Thai. Both are consistently amazing and very well prepared. I know I should try other menu items there but I can’t seem to break from those two. I have taken my wife and a few friends here and like myself, they feel this is the best Thai in town. It’s worth going to even on our days off and need to drive ½ way across town.

Yum. I had the pad Thai andit was the best I’ve had probably.. The fried tempura was great! Green iced tea to die for. Now the bad part. …18 bucks for lunch is a little steep. But as occasional treat, I’ll do it again..

Work friends took me to lunch at Thai Tip since they know I like spicy food and I’m still new in town. We got there early since they apparently fill up fast but we were able to be seated right away. The menu looks like your pretty typical Thai food. They have the stir-fries, the curries, the rice dishes, etc. I went with my go-to Thai food, Hot Basil. I was told that, despite my spice tolerance, to go with New Mexican Hot instead of Thai Hot. In general, there is a difference between tolerating a spice level and liking it. New Mexico hot was perfect. Very spicy but I still enjoyed the food. The servings were generous and the presentation was pretty nice. The shaped the rice into a heart which was a nice touch. They were also great about keeping my water glass full. We didn’t have to wait for a table nor did we wait too long for our food but it was getting pretty full, pretty quickly. The atmosphere is kind of what I expected. A bit hole-in-the-wall but still clean. My meal was about $ 12 which is kind of on the higher side but not too bad.

If the menu says in big bold letters that pre-orders are encouraged, this should be taken as a sign of how excruciatingly slow our dinner service was going to be. We went early on a weeknight and the dining room was nowhere near full and yet it took forever to get served the most basic of dishes. Apart from the slow service, the food is passable at best. The pad thai was way too saucy and disgustingly sweet and the tom kai was very bland.

Everything I have tried has been excellent! Absolutely the best Thai in ABQ, and I’ve tried 99% of the Thai restaurants out here. The lo mein is lovely, chow mein, cashew chicken, pineapple curry, the pad thai, basically everybody is great. Haven’t met a bad dish yet.

My friend invited me to join her here; she said it gets really busy during the lunch rush, so she recommend that we go before or after the rush. She also said that the hot option is super hot, so she said that I may want to start off with the mild first just to see how hot the mild was. It was at that point that I was scared of the hot. [Ha ha ha.] The sissy in me does not want that hot of a dish, for I am going to flavor rather than torture. Our lunch was delicious. It was served quick enough because we arrived after the lunch rush. I was so impressed that I wanted my husband to come back with me on my next lunch visit. He agreed. Yet, he wasn’t as impressed as I am, but at least he thinks this place is A-OK. As do I. Three to four stars. I like the noodles and curry. If you are hungry, you can finish a dish all by yourself. Aaaahhhh. Now I am craving Thai food.

Wow! I complained how horrible the Thai food in Albuquerque was that was until I came to Thai Tip. This place is tucked away in a older shopping center so I would of never of guessed to stop by if it wasn’t for a co-worker of mine who ranted and raved about this place. The food here is cooked fresh also the portions here are definitely enough for 2 people only down fall to this place is it could take a while to get your food. It took 45 minutes for me and my co-worker to get our food so I guess plan accordingly if you come on your lunch break.
