The Tot Shop

I like this place and the concept. Very similar to Other Mothers. Great staff. Decent selection and good prices. The merchandize is clean and is gently used. A great place to save money on much needed kids items, especially baby stuff.

They are picky with what they accept. They have excellent customer service. Local business. Wide selection of anything one could want for children. Cloth diapers. Toys. Books. Strollers. Cribs. Blankets. It’s crazy the amount of items this business has with regards to children. They are open until 630pm on weekdays. They accept trade in’s. I will be back.

The Tot Shop is the place to shop for children’s clothing. At any given time they have specials going on clothing or toys. The owner is friendly and professional and almost always comes out to greet me. The customer service is the best in ABQ. During my most recent visit to the store I found several very gently used pairs of size six jeans in brands such as Gymboree & Gap. Plus a fantastic name brand rain coat. As with any second hand store, it sometimes hit or miss especially finding quality used boy clothing. More often than not I walk away with a fantastic purchase from the Tot Shop. I would highly recommend stopping by the store if you are looking for anything used for a babies or children.

This place is amazing! Don’t turn around when you see the little sign, because once you’re inside, you’ll be amazed. From clothes to toys, they will have everything for your little «tot». They have very cheap things, but not cheap quality. Whether you’re looking for some things for your toddler or trying to sell some of your old things, the tot shop will give you a good deal.

This store is just amazing! The best customer service around and super great deals on quality childrens clothes and shoes! The Tot Shop has won me over. They offer the best consigments deals around, I have always received a great pay out and they are super trustworthy. Hands down the best childrens store in town! This is the ONLY place I will do consignment because their service is top notch and can’t be beat.

I love The Tot Shop. I have been going there for at least 9 months to trade in my son’s clothing he has outgrown, as well as other baby items. I always get a good trade-​in, and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. They really take their time to make this store super clean, unlike Other Mothers. The clothes and toys are gently used. The staff is friendly. You can’t get much better than The Tot Shop! :)

This place is the SOLUTION to Other Mothers!
The Tot Shop has WONDERFUL employees that are super helpful. When I go in they always welcome me, they periodically ask if I need help with anything, they have brought me baskets for my stuff, or helped me carry things to the front. They act like they really do know what it means to be a mom in a store juggling a toddler and a baby and they go out of their way to help you out with that. Some employees can even read your face for that frantic «where’d my kid go?» look and will help point them out for you.
Furthermore, this place has public bathrooms (very clean) AND a nursing mothers room (the people at Other Mother looked at me like I was a freak when I asked for a place to nurse) AND a kids play area that is specifically designed for the kids to play with the toys while you shop.
Not to mention. the prices are BETTER than Other Mothers and, at least for the times I went, the selection was better too. The store is smaller, and they don’t carry adult clothes, but for kids resale, I will always take my money here. They have a punch card for discounts too after four purchases of $ 25 or more. If there is something you want that they don’t have, they’ll put your name on «Wish List» and call you when they have it.
One time, I was shopping and had to nurse and asked my (older) daughter to pick a book to read while we were nursing. One employee was so helpful she went to help my daughter pick a book. My daughter picked a book that was already all gift wrapped in ribbon. I told my daughter to choose another one, but the employee said, no I’ll just unwrap it and re-​wrap it later.
PS. I can’t believe I ever bought anything «new» at the store (ie swings, clothes, etc for baby) other than stuff that needs to be sanitized because you can get the same stuff practically new in great quality at this store. I saw the exact same baby swing I paid $ 80 for at Target for $ 30 here and was kicking myself for not coming here first. We also bought a $ 160 Baby trend SIt and Stand for less than $ 100 which was also one of the best purchases of my child-​rearing life.

This is the cleanest store the staff is nice and professional. All the merchandise is very nice and very well priced .

The evolution of baby to toddler to child can be shocking for the uninitiated parent. Developmentally we’re blown away: by age two the kid is recognizing the alphabet and putting together complex sentences, recognizing verbal cues, and rocking the universe with independence. The entire trip is more potent than any mind-​altering substance could strive to provide, and along the way we parents are floored by the flotsam and jetsam that accumulates. Flotsam, far as I understand it, is the wreckage (diapers, food canisters, papers scribbled with «art»). Jetsam is actually valuable, the equipment, cargo, stuff that can be reused (baby swings, bouncers, cumbersome plastic toys). I certainly don’t have an issue with ditching the flotsam, but throwing out the jetsam hurts.
The Tot Shop is a great place to take your kiddie jetsam, and buy more of it.
The place is spotless and incredibly well-​organized. The goods are in good shape. Very inexpensive. Clothes, toys, carefully re-​wrapped educational materials, books, bouncers, baby bikes, costumes, whatevah. It’s all here and all of it will make you feel awful about the fact that you went to Toys-​R-​America and dropped a fat dime on something «new», when the used could be found at a smidgeon of the cost. And let’s face it: your lil’ one won’t know the difference, but your wallet will. So go green, go smart, and go Tot Shop.

Went there today looking for a tutu I saw on Craigslist and was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The store is clean and the staff is super nice. They were friendly and helpful and they had such good stuff for cheap! I will definitely be returning.

Score! I can’t believe we wandered upon this shop less than a week ago and it’s been next to our grocery store for over a year. Well, not that we’ve needed baby stuff for that long… Anyway, this place is fantastic! I liked it so much that I went back the next day with another mother-​to-​be. There is so much to see. Clothing, toys, books, furniture, every boppy pillow cover ever designed… and all in very gently used condition. The stuff is clean and new, the store even smells faintly of laundry detergent. The staff was very helpful in directing us to the sales. 5 onesies for $ 1.99 and 5 leggings for $.99. I bought around 15 outfits, some books and two pairs of shoes (buy one for $.99 get the second for a penny!). My grand total was less than $ 20.
Babies wear clothing for such a short time that it doesn’t make sense to have a lot of new clothing. It’s a waste of resources! Their deals are unbelievable. The best part is they have a trade and consignment business. Think of it like Buffalo Exchange for babies (with better deals, nicer clothes and less condescending staff). You get store credit for small items and you can sell furniture on consignment.
