Sometimes 1 star and sometimes 4 star, the best time is Friday and Saturday nights with the seafood buffet. Be highly selective. The Mexican food should be called mexican’t. The prime rib is ok if you get a fresh slice. Italian food is almost passable. Avoid the crawfish, sushi, phở, tilapia, salt and pepper crab, fried chicken, steamed veggies, crispy shrimp, breaded scallops, and pizza. Try the prime rib, oysters, crispy duck, tempura shrimp, spicy lobster and, best of all, crab legs. Mix your own sauces and butter with garlic, maybe Sriracha for good measure and enjoy.

This was a waste of our money and our last few hours in New Mexico. My hubby and I went expecting to enjoy a good $ 25 pp buffet. Instead we were disappointed at the tasteless, cold, and limited variety of food here. This food cave out of boxes and there was no real chef preparation! They didn’t even have fried fish! The only highlight is that our server was nice and the desserts were delicious. However, this is not reason enough for us to return. Unless you plan on going to eat your weight in seafood(which we saw a lot of people do) don’t waste your money.

We were very disappointed. Bland under seasoned food, over cooked, dry, limited choices within each section of Asian, Mexican, American Traditional, and Italian. Clearly they open cans, heat and serve. I asked if there was a chef… or just line cooks. I was told there is a chef that teaches the recipes to line cooks. Well, either it is an incompetent chef or the cooks are lazy. It amazed me how many people piled up their plates with bad tasteless high carb and fatty food. The salad bar and desert selection was the best part. Our waitress was very friendly and on top of service. The host was stressed directing the cattle call at dinner hour opening. The cashier was too slow. Prepaying before your meal probably contributes to the lax attempt at putting forth well prepared food. We will not go back. Caution flags to all unless you have no taste buds and care only about being full.

The buffet is located inside the Sandia resort. Went on sat night for a seafood buffet with good friends. After the buffet, watched a band playing and enjoyed the night away.

When we moved here five years ago, this buffet was quite wonderful. We’ve been back several times and each time it has noticeably gone downhill. Last night the ONLY meat available was a lousy Salisbury steak. No ham, no roast beef, no turkey. Many items were cold and rock hard. Desserts were fine. We won’t be going back again. Too bad because we live close by. Come on guys. Get your act together again.

This buffet used to be tops. I’m not so impressed anymore. Fried chicken dry. Turkey tasted like frozen processed box meal. You know it’s not great when the highlight is all you can drink soda and coffee. I’m going to give it some time and go back. Will edit review when I do.

I will preface this with one thing… I went for crab legs. Having been to the Route 66 Buffet for crab legs and been very disappointed, I tried to keep my expectations to a lower level. Compared to Route 66, this place was great! The crab legs were fresh, hot and never ending. They even had a build your own clams/mussels station. I was impressed. I can’t speak to any of the other food. I went for seafood and that is what I ate. At less than $ 25 pp if you have a casino card, this place is a delicious bargain and way better than the soft, soggy, water logged legs at Route 66.

Was there on Easter Sunday. No prime rib very short on crap. Nothing tasted really good. My son tried for different desserts said they were all crap.

I can’t believe some of the negative reviews about this place. We went to the Christmas Buffet, and it was excellent! Wide variety of delicious food, attentive service, I don’t see how anyone could possibly get food poisoning with the turnover of the food, the place was packed! There were crab legs, carving stations, a chocolate fountain, and all manner of side dishes. Wonderful! And refreshing to find some place open on Christmas Day!

Overpriced first of all for 25.50/ person. Definitely not great for vegetarians as there were not many vegetarian options –should have read the reviews earlier. Have gone to other buffets for the above price and there was much more vegetarian options. The juice was not fresh — orange juice tasted like powdered tang mix and cranberry-apple juice tasted like it was canned and mostly high fructose corn syrup. They did have a nice and fresh cantoloupe juice which was great but didn’t negate that I felt that the price was a rip off. There wasn’t enough fresh fruits — only a melon fruit salad. I’ve gone to valley view Casino in ca and it had all sorts of fresh fruits and fresh fruit juices. Salad options didn’t even have fresh spring mix of lettuce — only iceburg lettuce that didn’t seem fresh. Interesting that they had a Phở station but the soup was bland and the worst phở I had ever tasted as it seemed to not have the crucial star anise ingredient. Plus on top of that the asian guy who was serving the soup was a crabapple and looked really unhappy to be there. Hot and sour soup was also the worst that I had ever tasted.

Can you even give a start to a place that gave you food poisoning? The food selection was terrible, especially for a buffet. It was over-priced and most of the food was cold or they were out of it. The tea was watered-down and the cranberry juice had a strong syrupy taste. The waitress was also very rude and a bit snippy. And did I mention we got food poisoning? I thought it was just pain from eating spicy food, but it got progressively worse, and so we went to the doctors and they told us it was food poisoning! And while most people may think correlation is not always causation — in this case it was since it was the only thing that the two of us had both had that day. Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend taking the chance.

We didn’t stay at the hotel or go to the casino, all we did was go for their lunch buffet, so that’s what this review is based on, and it was very good as I recall(it’s been a few years since we were there.) Great soup and salad bar, food and dessert selection — better than most casino buffets. Service was quick, overall great experience.

Lots of good eats of the standard buffet variety … American, Italian, Asian, and of course, Mexican. Some of the best guacamole I’ve had in a loooong time; very fresh tasting and plenty of real chunks of avocado. God, I love avocados. Anyway … A good value for $ 10, with good — very good selections in a giant coffee shop kind of atmosphere. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Thank you, Adia!

I am totally serious, I had food poisoning from this place. How can anyone give it any more than 3 stars?

I came here with my mother on Mother’s Day for the buffet, mostly because I couldn’t seem to locate another viable option for a Sunday buffet. What did I learn? Well, first and foremost, if this is the competition, then aspiring restaurateurs stand to make a killing if they can cobble together a half-way decent buffet at a reasonable price. I must emphasize how peeved I am at the high-cost of this barf-fet. WE had to pay $ 40 for two and that was the discount rate with my mother’s Diamond Card. Even this price was a rip-off. Yes, I know it’s a buffet and when you’re eating a ton, it should naturally cost a bit more than the average meal. Fair enough. But let’s see here, Furr’s costs like six bucks or something absurd for all you can eat, then there are those Chinese buffets that charge a few bucks more, and then you jump 20 bucks in price and you get this. Except, wait, only the price has changed, because the food is of the same quality and taste as either of the aforementioned. I tried the salad, it was run-of-the-mill and reminded me of the Souper Salad I visited when I was like 14. Then, I tried the Asian food, and it was liked they had ripped open a couple of Stouffer’s microwaveable meals and called it an Asian buffet. Same went for the Mexican food. All was clearly of a pre-made, heat-for-10-minutes variety. Oh, and the coffee was concentrated corn syrup filth and the coffee was pretty poor as well. Everything was a great disappointment, at least besides my mother, who was grateful to be treated on Mother’s Day and didn’t seem bothered by the fact that her son brought her to such a poor establishment.

I went with my husband to try the casino’s buffet. We had no idea, but it also happened to be seafood night, which adds to the traditional buffet menu. In that occasion, we payed $ 25 per person and I must say that for that price, I would have found a much better and special meal in Albuquerque. The food was OK, but nothing to remember. In my opinion the desserts were the better part. I wouldn’t go back.

On Friday nights, there is a seafood buffet which is the only one I have been to. The crab is soooo good. Great crab legs, they keep them warm and there is plenty. The clams are amazing, they warm them for you in butter, garlic, and hot sauce if you want. great selection of desserts, lots of other selections, I just didn’t get far past the crab legs and clams :)

We visited the Sandia specifically to take advantage of the half-off Wednesday price for the buffet. This was one of the best casino buffets we have experienced. I would go out of my way to return here even at full price. The lunch buffet was only $ 5/person. We also had good luck with the free credits given to us on the player cards which you must have for the buffet price. All of the employees we experienced were friendly which made it a pleasure to visit this casino, another plus.
