I love breakfast!!! I especially love it when someone cooks and cleans for me! Weck’s is a perfect example of why hitting a local place beats a chain every single time. Fantastic food with lots of green chili showcased. I always order mine on the side as the heat can be hard to predict. I love the hash brown bowls with eggs and green chili. Man is that super. They offer a huge selection of tea and also a specialty coffee flavor that rotates. Service is what I call diner style in that you may see a different server for every part of your meal, but since service is so quick and friendly it hardly matters. I suggest getting here early on weekends and holidays as it fills up fast, but it’s worth the wait. Consistency is key and they have it in spades.

This is our go to breakfast spot after dropping the dogs off at the groomers early Saturday mornings. Greated with a smile(if you are coming with a group, all people must be present to be seated). Fast and attentive service. You can’t beat the price for the amount of food. I never leave hungry and I’ve never not had anything delicious. Manager always stops by to check on the customers. So grab those sweat pants and make your belly happy.

Well I brought my parents from out of town to eat here and it was OK not great I had green Chile enchiladas with beef extra hash browns instead of beans Cuz there was no rice my mom got the pancake sandwich and my dad got biscuits and gravy and extras let me tell you my enchiladas were warm not hot the beef was not at temp and my corn tortillas were soggy the only thing that was hot was the hash browns my moms pancake sandwich was not a sandwich it was 2 giant pancakes with a side of Bacon and an egg and my dad said his biscuits and gravy and extras where fine… our server was great 4 stars for her and the manager asked us if we where OK and we asked for more coffee and he came back on the phone with the coffee pot in hand… ohh and one more thing the sewer smell coming from the restrooms is gross and displeasing someone walked by after leaving the restrooms and the sewer smell came with her as she passed our table it was gross just my thoughts on my visit this morning

Ordered the Build your own Burger with MexiCali Coffee, the Burger was okay nothing special but for the price it was a great deal. The coffee was really good and tasted fresh, however the only complaint I had was the sweet potato fries tasted cold. Other than that, the service was great and overall enjoyed my lunch.

Went there on veterans day and asked if they have specials or discounts. Can’t blame us for asking but our server said no discounts, but later she said 10% off though it only saved us 3 $ but I will take it. Maybe My expectation was high and that is why I was disappointed when our food came. The gravy was bland though the chicken steak is soft, not much flavor. My daughter took a bite or two of her burger and she was done, eating my chicken steak instead. I so want them to have tasty food but wishing and having are different things. I am trying to justify the lack of flavor, maybe they are trying to focus on pleasing geriatric customers? No offense senior citizens! Bland food is a crime in a restaurant business said my imaginary friend from my imaginary world!

I know, I know, two stars might seem kind of harsh yes? Well hear me out here, or read me out. Weck’s is obviously a New Mexico chain of breakfast joints aimed at competing with the Denny’s of the world, but with a local twist. I get it, keep your discretionary funds local… got it, trackin! However, I get the impression their target audience is the older crowd, i.e. seniors. Maybe I’m off base there, but that’s the vibe I gleaned. And maybe that’s why, in my humble opinion, their food is very bland. Flavorless! Generally speaking, and yes I know I shouldn’t generalize, but generally speaking seniors really tone it down on flavor & spice the older they get. They really start watching the salt, and they can no longer handle the spice of yesteryear. So maybe the chefs are cognizant of this when frying things up in back as they know their audience. Look, if you read the description of the stars: 1 is horrible; 2 is I’ve experienced better; 3 is A-OK; 4 is Yay, I’m a fan and 5 is obviously out of this world, love it! It’s not horrible, but it’s not A-OK either, therefore, it gets a 2. Since moving to the ABQ, I’ve not tried them, though I’ve seen them all over town. My wife heard a few good things about them & one of my co-workers swears by their biscuits & gravy. Well, as I’m sure most of you know, any self respecting fat man gets pretty stoked over biscuits & gravy. So when I heard that, they officially made my list. So Veterans Day, after the parade, we were hungry. So when debating where to go, this popped into our minds & off we went. I knew what I wanted, biscuits & gravy, of course. I ordered my eggs over easy & a side of sausage. Decent sized biscuits, but the gravy was lame! Seriously, FLAVORLESS! It was not a true sausage gravy with a good pepper kick to it, it was pasty & extra white with a ham base. Just a major let down. The eggs, sure, OK. How do you mess up eggs over easy? The side of sausage, also lame. No flavor & a bit dry. My daughter had a cheeseburger off the kids menu and I was surprised at the size, it was adult sized. However, very lame as well, no flavor & on the dry side. My wife ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, a staple yes? Not bad, very tender & the saving grace out of all our meals. But alas, the gravy covering said steak was the same boring, flat, flavorless gravy. In my humble opinion, nowhere near the hype & we’ll not be returning. Plus a 10% Veterans Day discount is kind of lame as well. So on that note, where does a guy get good biscuits & gravy in the Q?

On our annual trek to Albuquerque for Hatch chili, we always stop at Weck’s for Huevos and great coffee. The staff is attentive, the food is fresh, and they help us stock up on green chili sauce for the season. Highly recommended

What a nice place… We travel 8 hours to Albuquerque every year to pick up our supply of green chili sauce from Weck’s. The manager is always so welcoming and remembers us every year. The service is also very good for such a busy place… The food is fresh and tastes great, of course we only have huevos with green chili. The coffee is great and they have added 14 different breads.

Service: we were sat immediately in the lower section of the restaurant where we were met by our server who promptly greeted us with a smile. The guy who seated us let us know the coffee of day and awed if we had any questions about he menu. Our server was great! She was quick but not pushy, fast to get refills and extras of anything that we needed. The manager even stopped by to see how things were for and service wise, which to me speaks volumes! Food: simply amazing! I had the papas bowl with sausage, bacon, and country gravy and it was so so good!!! I ordered an egg over easy on top which was cooked correctly. I was also able to try the pancakes that my daughter had ordered they were very yummy! The prices were very reasonable and we will be returning!!!

Anyone that eats at weck’s has no idea what real food tastes like. Enough green or red chile can make anything taste OK. This so called food is nothing but frozen crap smothered, so a Human cannot taste it. I’m a retired Professional Truck driver that has eaten all around this great country and weck’s frozen garb is not fit for animal consumption much less Humans! I was forced to leave one star.

Big food with small prices. I have to say this is the best place to get STUFFED. The food is mass produced but tastes like it is just for you. The papas with chile couldn’t be any better.

What happen to this location? Weck’s is my favorite restaurant so we frequent their many locations often. This is the first time ever I’ve been truly disappointed.. with just about everything. The host wasn’t very friendly and super preoccupied with the bus boy that parks himself at the host stand when there isn’t a table to clear. She also doesn’t listen very well and had our table set for one less than our party so the baby had to sit on laps the whole time. The waitress was awful. I had to ask 4 times for lemon for my water. 4TIMES! The food portions were smaller than they used to be or made incorrectly. The eggs were overcooked as was the bacon. The manager Ivan(I think that is what he said) was nice enough. He fixed my plate that was missing food(well, some of it. I still didn’t get the tortilla that usually comes with it) This trip just didn’t live up to the Weck’s standards we are used to. And I can’t say it was just one thing. It was kinda everything.

So my partner and I– with visions of Huevos Rancheros dancing in my head, went there this morning. As it was the Sunday Brunch, their halls were packed with patrons and folks waiting to be seated. We were ushered in quickly even though it seemed so busy. Our waitress was competent and looked like a Weck’s lifer. However, our food was mediocre at best. My eggs were undercooked, gooey whites oozing towards the outer edges. The Xmas chiles had a strange flavor that I couldn’t identify until I read the bottles of chile for sale near the check out counter. MSG!!! They put MSG in their chile. Why? Chile is already incredibly flavorful. The LAST thing chile needs is MSG.(In addition to MSG, chicken stock + additional chicken fat. Their list of chile ingredients in both the red and green varieties is unnecessarily cumbersome and lent to their chile a rancid tone of unrendered fat.) Overall, the food was just gross, like the quality that you might find at a foul smelling camp cafeteria from the 80’s. Don’t go here. It’s not worth the heart attack.

The green chile at Weck’s is simply amazing. I have no idea how they prepare it, but it’s one of the tastiest greens there is. Combine it with the huevos rancheros, and it’s an incredible dish. No matter what you get, I’d highly recommend asking for an additional side of chile. It’s just that good. The portions here are pretty big, so bring a friend or a healthy appetite with you.

Weck’s is an ABQ classic. It’s a local chain of breakfast places that serve all the classics as well as NM favorites. Yes, you can get green chili on anything, of course. Their pile of potatoes with eggs, cheese and chili is my go-to. But their pancakes, french toast and cinnamon rolls are all quite excellent!

If you want to know why America is obese, this is the place to go to find out. Gigantic, flavorless portion, bad food no fresh taste. Coffee is awful too.

This place is generally clean and the staff are friendly. The layout is kinda odd, but nothing off-putting. The servers are quick and efficient, and the menu has a wide variety of choices. I have always ordered breakfast, but have been with folks who have ordered lunch as well. I really like the Farmer’s Market omelette. It’s chock full of lots of good veggies, and they don’t seem to mind when I customize it a bit. It comes with hash browns — which could be browner — and a bread of your choice. Lots of carbs there, but you don’t HAVE to eat them, right? The biscuits are pretty tasty, too! The pancakes, which are enormous, are also pretty darn good! Ditto the huge cinnamon rolls! Everything else seems to be pretty decent as well. I have had one of their papas bowls and enjoyed it. While we have never had a complaint from anyone we have dined with here, it’s also not a spectacular culinary event. It’s good for breakfast, and we like it, but it’s just good, fill-you-up breakfast(or lunch) fare, nothing out of the ordinary or unusually delectable. Worth going if you wake up hungry.
