The Good: It was constructed in the hopes that children might someday aspire to play upon its structures. The Bad: Children most likely will not play upon its structures. The Verdict: Don’t let this review take away from the great services and activities the Community Center provides; during the week it’s clear that the building provides a wealth of options for the young, disabled and elderly. I’m reviewing the wonky, curvy pieces of plastic and metal which posture as some kind of play area. What was the architect thinking, exactly? They obviously didn’t stress a budget during construction, as the grounds are made of a soft, safe, space-age material; these ain’t wood chips, people. I could imagine kids of a limited age, maybe 10 – 12, getting a good five minutes of fun from this layout, but without shade I’m doubting it ever gets much love.
