This place was fantastic. All the sauces were prepared in house. The place is clean and the service is friendly. The menu is extensive and very well priced.

My wife and I had a craving for Mexican food during our stay in Viola, Il. My niece who lives in Viola recommended Los Charros. At first we were skeptical about the place but we tried it anyways. Boy, were we surprised! The tortilla chips were very fresh along with the salsa. We ordered guacamole to start with our chips, I ordered the shrimp and fish tacos and my wife ordered a tostada(just to get a feel of the place). I tell you, we live in Los Angeles and these were one of the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life. The tostada was not bad at all as well. The guacamole was very fresh and very good. Overall, the food was excelente and the service was outstanding. Ask for Juan when you go and visit.

Apparently this is the best Mexican restaurant in Aledo(there are only two). I was pretty impressed with the fare. Chips and salsa were ok, but man — that salsa verde completed the meal! You have to request it, and proceed with caution because it’s HOT. The menu is made up of your typical Mexican fare, and for a landlocked town like Aledo, there are a lot of seafood options. I realllllly wanted to try the molcajete dish, but I opted for enchiladas. And it’s topped with real Mexican cheese — not queso, as what we’re used to down South. The tequila selection is extremely limited — I wanted Herradura or Don Julio — but the bartender must’ve liked me because 1⁄5 of my way through my Patron margarita … Fairy was slurring. :)
