Majestic Liquor Stores

Yes, yes. I know Majestic is a chain and we should be patronizing local businesses. Well, the problem with that is (a) local liquor stores don’t have the same selection, (b) local liquor stores can’t beat Majestic’s prices and © we all need to watch every penny (of course, some would argued that if we’re watching pennies we shouldn’t be buying booze, and to that I offer up a hearty «whatever»).
There’s nothing overly special about Majestic, but it is laid out well, the sections are clearly marked, and the selection is diverse (including a healthy variety of Texas wines). They also have a wide variety of both imported and domestic beers, a decent array of champagne and sparkling wine and even a walk-​in humidor for the cigar aficionados among us.
The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the location. If you’re coming in from the north (i.e. Fort Worth), no sweat., but if you are coming from the south, you have to endure U-​turn hell thanks to the ingenious lack of planning in that stretch of 377.
For anyone familiar with Houston, Majestic is certainly no Spec’s, which in my opinion is the gold standard, but it’s easily the best liquor store in Granbury.
