So my son went to order his date for prom a matching corsage to her boutonnière 5 days before their date. All seemed well. He was told to pick up the corsage on Saturday AM from 9 – 12 which was perfect for his 2 o’clock event start time. He gets to the store on Saturday morning about 10 and they are closed. CLOSED! He called the number to the shop and they had a message with a number to call if there was an emergency. Well, he called me and I called the number with our«emergency». I left a voice mail and was promptly called back by the owner. She was out-of-town and didn’t get our order. WHAT? Really? She willingly said she would pay for whatever the cost would be for another corsage but I was left with a problem and the clock was ticking. That was really generous of her but it didn’t solve my dilemma. I had minutes to find a florist who could help. 45 minutes and 5 calls later, I had a destination for my son to travel to in Ft. Worth to pick up a corsage. Unfortunately, they couldn’t match the original as they were not made at the same shop. I also found out that my son’s date when trying to pick up her boutonnière was told they were already closed and unavailable to complete the order. She insisted they open to give her the boutonnière she had ordered. She did get hers but again, with hassle. The owner did credit me the cost of the replacement corsage and was apologetic for the mishap, BUT, when you NEED flowers for an event, you really NEED the florist to make it happen. I understand that people make mistakes but this was such a fiasco that ended well, but with all the stress, time lost, phone calls and running around to fix it, I have concluded it was not worth the risk to use them for an timed event again. TO just stop by to pick up flowers, yes, but if I NEED flowers for a deadline… I am a wee bit leery.
