Main Street Alexander City

Not many visitors to Lake martin know about one of the biggest Farmers’ Market events in the area. Main Street Alex City is the Downtown Revitalization organization for Alex City. 4 or 5 years ago they came up with the idea to host a farmer’s market to showcase many of the local growers. They are open every Saturday from the second Saturday in June and it runs through October. 7:30 A.M. till 12:00 P.M. They hold it near the Wachovia Bank building in down town Alex City. If you know where the old Froshin’s is, across the railroad tracks from Carlisle’s — that big parking lot is cleared out and they put out tents, etc. I have friends that are Lake Martin locals that go to buy their stuff there, as well as a significant contingent of my Atlanta foodie friends. If you are at Lake Martin for the weekend and need some great fresh food for your Saturday night dinner, check it out.
