I went to Claude Marcel bc they have Aveda products and I usually really like salons that sell Aveda. Plus, they had good reviews. I was a walk-in and requested a Brazilian Blow-dry, but they do not offer this service. Instead, it was reccommended to do a Keratin treatment. The hair dresser fried my hair! I have been trying to grow it out for well over a year now since it is well below my shoulders. I don’t know how she did it, but it she must have left some product on my hair when she straight ironed it. My hair was also pretty damp/wet when she straight ironed it. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone!

Love this salon. I used to come here when it was in Tysons but I actually live in Alexandria so it’s much more convenient. The new location is much warmer, a bit smaller but every bit as great. I saw Kelly for a cut and color and she completely transformed my dull and washed out color and fixed my overly layered and choppy cut to be full and sexy again. Strongly recommend Kelly!

Amazing experience. It’s the type of hair cut you can give someone as a gift. The whole experience is wonderful. They pamper you so much. Love it!

It sucks to say this, but I will not be returning to Claude Marcel. Within the past year, their prices have seemed to spike up while quality of service has gone down. Although I like Tess a lot as a person, my last haircut(which I asked for a dusting/trim as I wanted to keep my hair long for my upcoming wedding) she proceeded to chop off the front of my hair up to my shoulders in weird layers and didn’t touch the back(my hair was midway down my back). I was really disappointed with the haircut bc my hair now looks really weird comparing the front to the back with completely uneven lengths. On top of that, the girl who shampooed my hair told me she was giving me a complimentary deep conditioning treatment, which I did NOT ask for. Whatever. So when I go to pay, the girl tells me my total is $ 115 for a haircut and blowdry. Really?! So I had to argue about the conditioning treatment I didn’t ask for and ask them to apply the 10% discount for my birthday month they reminded me about when I arrived. The girl at the front desk was more into her Instagram notifications than getting my bill right. Annoying. Prior to that, I had an issue with my bayalage highlights fading out right after getting them. My calls to the salon about this were never returned. For being a loyal client 2+ years at this place, and Tess even telling me my first review got her more business, they should have given me the courtesy of a call back and the haircut I asked for.

By far the WORST place to get a pedicure. I’m not one to complain about my nails because I trust the person that’s doing my nails know what they’re doing… I was wrong & trust me I learned my lesson! I told the French lady(I don’t know her name sorry) it was bad. She had the nerve to argue with me when I’m a client? be a little professional. I wasted $ 48 because they said they couldn’t do anything about her bad service. I never write reviews but I’m beyond upset with their service!

It was my second visit and was really looking forward to get a pleasant haircut for the holiday season and had the dreadful experience of my life. I went to Soniya and she recommended to show her some pictures online for the hair cut, well first of all I thought being such a fashionable salon, they should be recommending me haircuts rather than me picking up some random google picture of the haircut. She felt confident and went ahead and started cutting my hair looking at that picture time and again which freaked me out because if you are a professional you just need to know the type of cut and add on your recommendation for the same. Overall the staff at the front desk are kind of rude and they tried to hush me down when I started arguing about the awful haircut.

I follow Unilocal recommendations for Alicia and I’m so happy I did. She’s the best hair stylist I’ve ever been to. You can tell she has a passion for what she does and I couldn’t ask for anyone better and professional.

Go here and ask for Alicia. She’s an amazing stylist who is great at what she does. I have long, thick hair and a lot if it so it takes a special stylist to work with it and make it look great. She always does an amazing job and I rarely ever walk out without being complimented about my cut/style. She genuinely cares about her clients and really pays attention to what they want. Not to mention she always starts with incredibly relaxing scalp massage. I’ve been seeing her for 4 years, since she used to work at Dulles Town Center and have every intention of continuing to do so.

Have been going to this place since it opened as Dessange Paris, loved the experience there despite the high charges, but since that skinny guy Claude took over the place as Claude Miracle, this place is going down. !!!He is rude, has no professionalism and no customer service… never going back there again. I wish there was some place where you could report a bad hair stylist as you can report a bad doctor, I would definitely report him!!!

An awesome experience from beginning to end. Specially the end result was amazing! I am lucky to have found a great hair stylist. Alicia is full of experience and energy. She brings a fresh touch to your look. and will leave you looking like a star. She had me laughing a lot and always had a big smile on her face. You feel like family and I will definitely come back again. The place is very elegant and relaxing.

Came here after my hair stylist, Alicia, left the dump she was working at Dulles Mall. I was skeptical that the change in locale would mean exorbitant prices but it’s in line with other salons in this area. About the salon, night and day to where she was — laid back, very chic and open salon, everyone is super sweet and they even have a mascot«Louie» golden lab who is the owners pet and greets you at the door. At first I thought…“this is weird…” but once you meet Louie, you understand truly that they want you to feel at home. Now Alicia — she is my queen of color. I have darker brown hair and she’s taken me from rich ruby red, to sandy dark blonde, and now to a rich espresso shade on top with the under layers a lighter caramel brown. For this fall weather, the shade add enough dimension without being annoying, usual highlighted work on top. I like that she’s at a place that knows the best technique in color and I go mainly because of the Aveda Color product itself. Salon — like I said, night and day. Open, airy, chairs completely recline and massage every inch of you. They even have a private room/entrance in the back — I understand for those that would want more privacy for religious or personal reasons. I haven’t used the spa yet, only the hair services with Alicia. I’ve glanced over at Eric and I can just tell from some of the perfect pixie cuts he’s delivered that he is a guru with the scissors as well. Happy I came over here, my pampering place to be at :-) just bear in mind this is Tysons Corners so if you can avoid appointments at rush hour times.

Followed my favorite stylist, Alicia, when she started at this airy, beautiful, friendly, chic salon. Loved the experience, from the warm hospitality of the owner(who gave me a tour of the salon and spa with its relaxing coffee/wine bar and a meet and greet with the resident dog) to the excellent service. Alicia does fantastic color, cuts, and styling, has taken care of me and my hair for years. She always takes the time to get to know her clients and whatever is going on in their lives, special occasions on the horizon, etc. and is attentive to the health of hair and scalp. We always have short and long term plans for my hair. You couldn’t ask for a warmer, more knowledgeable, or more professional stylist. Treat yourself to this upscale salon… you will want to make an afternoon of it, but don’t forget to have your parking validated, and then take your gorgeous head over to Tysons!

From the aesthetic point of view, this place is amazing. I love coming here. There is something about a white, glass-filled, bare minimum environment that is just so, so awesome. The staff is always very friendly and genuine. I have been here on two previous occasions, once as a hair model for a new stylist several years ago(Anastasia) and then again for a follow-up appointment with her. I would have continued to go to her but I took an unexpected 30% pay cut and luxury haircuts were not in the budget. I went back yesterday for the first time in about two — three years because yay I can afford it again and I really needed something done with my hair. It had no style to it, and Anastasia’s cuts are the best ones because they look fantastic while they grow out. I had booked an appointment to get colored too but I ended up having to get my hair colored the week prior and just forgot to call them to cancel the appointment. When she found out that I wasn’t getting the color done, she seemed a bit upset… although she did have another color client at the same time, so perhaps it worked out better for everyone that way. I explained to her that I was going through a lot of drama in my life due to health crises with three family members and that I needed something to help me get over this hump. I told her I wanted to keep the length of my hair(it’s been growing out for years since I’ve seen her) and her idea of a new look for me involved giving me a longer shag/bob combo with lots of layers to cut out some of the bulk. I figured it’s just hair and it will grow back so I let her do it. It’s kind of a shock to see how much hair got cut — enough that I literally could have a whole other head of hair. She took the time to show me how to blow dry it like she did because it did look nice and I wanted to know how to do it. Today I took the time to wash/dry it myself and I have to say I’m a little put out by it now because it’s not really what I wanted. I think I am going to be stuck wearing it in a pony tail for a few months now until I can get extensions put in. Maybe it’s just me being leery of change, maybe it’s just me being blah on life right now, but it’s really not what I wanted. I also felt sort of rushed during the appointment and I don’t like the fact that they’re merging with Aveda and they’re using Aveda products(when they were using Kerastase before, which is amazing stuff). Anastasia is having a baby at the end of the month so will be out on maternity leave until late October; she gave me the names of two stylists she said would be good for me, and I made a follow-up appointment with one of them for mid-September. We’ll see how things go and whether or not i will keep that appointment. Price for haircut /blowdry/style & conditioning treatment(which I didn’t ask for but was given to me anyway) was $ 85. I still love Anastasia and she is still a beautiful, talented, warm person but I just don’t know about going back there. She didn’t seem really thrilled about the merge with Aveda and it seemed like there was some sort of negativity in the air there, which I don’t remember from before.

I have just returned from my first experience at Dessange Paris for a bikini wax. I’d like to preface this review by saying that I have only ever had a bikini wax once before, several years ago. That said, while I may not have much to go on for comparison, by my account, Marie-Anne was absolutely fantastic. She was quick and gentle, very kind, and very accommodating to my… inexperience — neither overindulging my whining nor disregarding it but rather distracting me from the task at hand gently, thoughtfully, and professionally. And the result was great! Fast, but thorough, without leaving very many waxy remaining bits behind, and with only the expected mild irritation.(She IS ripping hair out of your skin, afterall!) I cannot speak for the hair stylists(yet), but I will most certainly be back for Marie-Anne’s quality work. Take heed, all you waxing virgins — Marie-Anne will put your fears at ease! AND I was suprised that the cost for the bikini wax(non-Brazillian) actually seems quite lower than many other places in the area($ 38 versus the average of around $ 50-$ 60 at the other places I considered) despite the fact that it seemed that many other services at the salon were fairly pricey.

What an elegant place to get a hair cut! Beautiful white interior and spacious salon. People working there are all in great shape and really good looking. What an experience. There’s not much to do on my hair and I would probably waste all that money but for ladies, I highly recommend this place. This is like flying in First Class Cabin. High quality service.

I only went here because my friend recommended that I let them give my hair a new shape and style. I was a bit skeptical and thought it might be overpriced and more than I needed to be spending on a haircut. A year later I’m still going there because they do such an amazing job all around. I always think my hair falls into place even without styling and the color is so natural. Love it!
