Davidoff and Associates

I scheduled a free consultation because I needed a new accountant for my very small business and was seeking some strategic advice as well. The process was smooth and the consultation lasted over an hour, so I was hopeful that Mike Davidoff would be the right accountant for my needs.
In the meeting, he quoted a fee of $ 500 for preparation of my federal and state yearly tax returns (joint with my husband) including coupons for estimated tax payments during the year. He said he would look into the other services I need and provide a quote via email.
After 72 business hours, I had not heard from him and wrote to ask about a proposal. He responded quickly, but with a fee of $ 1,145 for the same services that were to be included in the $ 500 initial quote. Fees for other services would be $ 2400 per year and include work that duplicates the duties of my bookkeeper. Mr. Davidoff insisted that he and his CPAs perform these services or forfeit their responsibilities for my tax return.
I am more than happy to pay a premium for work that is honest and valuable to me, but the work as outlined and quoted by Davidoff and Associates does not fall into this category. «Bait and switch» salesmanship is neither appreciated nor acceptable.

I’ve done my taxes with Davidoff and Associates for the past two years. Everyone has always been professional and prompt in responding to me, especially Michael Davidov. Michael has been accommodating and willing to help out in anyway he could. It really made me feel like a valued customer.
I also have enjoyed the ease of the process and getting to e-​file. It definitely makes tax season less of a dreadful experience!

We were very satisfied with the service provided. We were given detailed directions on the documents that were needed. We met for an in-​office interview once. All other correspondences were made over e-​mail, which was responded to promptly.
We’ve always dreaded filing taxes because my husband was self-​employed through a company based in a different state and I was on a scholarship grant that left all taxes to be handled by the recipient. It was a refreshing change to be able to talk to a real person who consistently handles our taxes. I also appreciate the fact that he is available all year.
Not only was our 2013 return done promptly and without hassle, Michael also caught some mistakes in our previous year’s taxes and amended our return for significant savings. He also offered to speak to the IRS on our behave when we received cryptic notices regarding our returns.
We believe his rates are very reasonable. We originally purchased a deeply discounted Groupon deal (after reading the other Unilocal reviews). Michael gave us all the time and attention to detail that we needed. We will continue to use his services in the coming years. Definitely recommended.

Tax season is by far the most treacherous period for any single female who didn’t rock the STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) house and is forced to hand over the estimated cash value of one’s first born by each and every April 15^th. As of January 24, 2014, Mike Davidov was that man. I threw myself across his way via the 21^st century phenomenon, Groupon. The offer cost $ 49 and included «a complete basic Federal and State tax return for a single individual,» valued at $ 180. Mr. Davidov provided insight even prior to the purchase of my Groupon and repeatedly acknowledged that the only additional fee I would run into, would be for him to file my Self Employment (SE) tax which would be roughly equivalent to $ 30. ‘Twas an unbeatable offer, indeed.
I had my forms ready to go and submitted all essential documents to Mr. Davidov via e-​mail, it was the simplest tax process I’ve undergone as tax prep typically holds joy similar to Chinese water drip torture. Like the mysterious nature of Great Gatsby, I’d never held a conversation with Mr. Davidov, yet the entire process was full of glitter, butterflies and chocolate croissants. That was until the invoice arrived.
The invoice was higher than expected and I was initially charged for estimated tax vouchers since I send estimated quarterly payments. I brought this charge to the attention of Mr. Davidov and he ever so kindly waived the charge so that my final bill fell precisely within the quote initially provided. I rate Davidoff & Associates CPAs ever most highly on their prompt and responsive nature and highly recommend you consult this firm for your tax needs.
