Nice restaurant with live music on the weekends. Great atmosphere. Most of the food is disappointing. The best thing I’ve eaten has been the Wienersnitzel.

We just finished eating dinner here. The food was good, nothing spectacular(but we haven’t found anything spectacular in Alexandria. We ordered a pizza(half Godfather and half my own creation with 4 toppings). The Godfather costs $ 16 and a pizza with up to 4 toppings also costs $ 16. Since they are the same price, half of each SHOULD cost the exact same. When we received the bill, the waitress tried to charge us $ 6 extra for the four toppings that are included in the pizza price. This makes absolutely no sense! If I went over the four toppings on my half of the pizza, I should have been charged $ 1 extra for each additional topping($ 2 extra for each additional topping on the WHOLE pizza). At the end, the waitress ended up still charging $ 2.50 extra which shouldn’t have even charged at all. Even though it’s a small amount, the extra charges make no sense! I will not be returning to dine here and would not recommend it to any of my friends.

Drove twenty minute to eat here and it was closed for a private party. You could have eaten the Oktoberfest menu on plastic chairs and watch the people dress in Halloween costume walk by. Not what I wanted to do on my date night. I just can not believe that you would shut the whole place down for a private party. Very disappointed was look forward to trying this place.

This place is super phenomenal. I always recommend it to people from out of town. Where else can you get awesome puzza with fried eggs!!! Atwoods has officially outdone themselves. I’m glad they got rid of one of the bartenders though. Only negative thing I would say. Great date night spot!

4 stars because the service was good — not great. Food was fantastic. Not sure they were properly staffed with 1 server for the entire restaurant. App’s were delish and Oktoberfeast menu was spot on.

Restaurant is one of the first businesses in a cool downtown area that is being revitalized. We had a Godfather and a Butcher Block pizza; both were topped with delicious meats! Personally, the pizza was a little on the salty side for me, but my friends loved it! Restaurant overall was very pleasant, and we stumbled in just as the live Jazz trio(which was excellent) was starting their first set(how serendipitous)! Two knocks — 1. wine by the glass is expensive(like $ 12) and the pour was on the small side. 2. the tap water in the restaurant tasted really metallic(like iron) — I would recommend drinking bottled water only.

What a quaint place tucked downtown amid all of the older buildings. The short menu had good choices. I got the Sicilian Tomato and Blue Ghost pizza. The tomato was a stuffed delight of breading and small meat chunks drenched in a yummy cream sauce. The pizza had cheese made with ghost peppers, chicken chunks, spinach, and sliced boiled eggs. I would have loved for it to have been a tad bit spicier to represent the ghost pepper. 11″ pizza was quite large for me, of course. An 8″ option would have been welcome.

I completely agree with all of the 5 star reviews. Love the food and the atmosphere. Alexandria could use more of this. I’m holding out on that 5th star until they hire more wait staff. The current staff is very pleasant and works hard, but there isn’t enough of them. Customers should be prepared to wait.

Rating based on the area. I went with the Godfather 11 inch pizza due to the previous reviews. Quite amazing flavors. It has pepperoni, kalamata olives, bacon, red pear tomatoes, peperoncini, cheese, and prosciutto all on an authentic thin crispy crust. The atmosphere is nice, they have live artists performing and a very nice selection of beer and wines.

Went here today for lunch. I actually didn’t know it was a pizza place at first. Got the Godfather pizza. And honestly was amazing. Will definitely be visiting this place again soon!

The sangria was great. The BBQ Chicken pizza is nothing to brag about with the melted cheese slice and sauce. Pass on the Peruvian shrimp. You are looking at 6 cold salad shrimp with spicy gyro sauce on a bed of spinach leafs at $ 10+. The staff was nice and the sangria was cold.

I had never been to Alexandria before and found Embers through Unilocal.I had the Pad Thai, and it was pretty good, but my boyfriend had the Butcher pizza, and that was definitely awesome. Wouldn’t mind having a place like this in Baton Rouge. Also, thanks for being open during the evening. We were having trouble finding a place that didn’t close by 5:30 or earlier and at a decent price. Nice interior and atmosphere as well.

Outstanding variety of tasty Pizza and/or Italian Cuisine. Menu is one page with 4 – 8 choices among appetizers, pizza, salad, pasta and Calzones. Definitely NOT standard fare. Live music tonight makes for a relaxed atmosphere.

This place is so classy. Delicious fare. A great comfortable vibe. We enjoyed Sunday brunch(and overheard that there may be a brunch menu in the works) of our own family style sharing of some small plates(ordering a calzone, a caprese salad, and an appetizer). The attention to fresh Italian ingredients made the experience here fantastic. Come casual or dressy, large or small group. This is a great spot. Wish we lived closer to frequent it ourselves.

What an unexpected delight. A very creative yet unpretentious menu. I had the peasants calzone. Asparagus and fingerling potatoes in a calzone? Good idea. My one n only had the seafood calzone with white wine sauce. Lenten special. The most extraordinary thing is the attention paid to the little side salad that comes with. The arugula salad had pistachios, beets and a very mild cheese.(Possibly from a goat) balsamic dressing. The other salad was halved cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and homemade croutons with a vinaigrette. So good. Pretty good beer selection and high end wine selection. Plus+++ open on Sunday.

This was a very nice change of pace for lunch on a Sunday. Had the Sicilian Tomato for appetizer and that was probably my favorite of the day. Very different and very good. My husband had the shrimp appetizer which is listed as spicy and it was very spicy but still good. I had pasta primavera and my husband had the shrimp pasta. Both were light and pretty good. We also decided to try the sangria and both really liked it. Very nice atmosphere. Great addition to downtown Alexandria. We will be back!

Another hidden gem in Alexandria… Food, drinks, service, and live music were above reproach! Love this place to pieces. Expect great food and an amazing dining experience on par with the best in San Francisco… Right here in the heart of Louisiana!

Not sure if I was still in Alexandria Louisiana. Great start up for downtown. Very impressed with my Monday afternoon lunch. Spicy lemon ginger pasta and mellow Pasta Primavera with a delicious light and fresh tomato salad as a starter. There are many interesting salads and pizzas yet to try. Excellent renovation to the building
