Dr. Meza is just great! I just had my second root canal performed by him and I have no pain whatsoever! His staff is fantastic, from the front desk to his assistants. Going to the dentist is now a gratifying experience. I highly recommend him. He also speaks Spanish, as his front desk receptionist. Super plus point! Thank you Dr. Meza!

I was referred to Dr Meza by my own regular dentist when it was suspected that I had an occult tooth fracture. Dr Meza saw me that day due to the severity of the tooth pain and was prepared to start investigating and treating me immediately. He was concerned enough that he recommended root canal to start with and he had very modern equipment so that he could tell after he began that the tooth was a total loss. He then stopped the procedure and referred me downstairs to an oral surgeon for extraction which was done the same day. I truly appreciate his calm manner, thorough explanation, and prompt treatment. I can see why he is teaching through the University of Maryland Dental School. His staff was helpful and businesslike. If I need a root canal someday I will certainly go back there.

Wow!!! Let me just say for a person who has been terrified of the dentist for a very long time, the shear thought of getting a root canal done started to give me anxiety and panic attacks. Now I know, if every dentist /​endodontist was like this, my fears would be squashed from the beginning of the appointment. From the front office to the actual care of their patients, they go the extra mile in making you comfortable and happy. I swear, the skill that Dr. Meza has is like a massage therapist for your teeth! Not once did it hurt and he checked on how I was doing throughout the whole appointment (till I fell asleep because I was so comfortable). I would highly recommend anyone to Dr. Fernando J. Meza’s office in Alexandria, VA for any of their endodontist needs!!!

I was referred to Dr. Meza by my dentist following an injury that occurred as a result of me blacking out in a bar and hitting my front tooth on the ground. Working with him has been great. I’ve heard horror stories of the pain from a root canal, but I didn’t feel a thing when he did mine.
Following my root canal, he suggested (and my dentist agreed) that I get internal bleaching since it’s my front tooth. I was nervous about the price since insurance doesn’t cover any of it, but he kept making me go back until my tooth looked normal again.
Lastly, the office staff will file a pre-​appointment claim (not sure what this is actually called) with your insurance so that you can pay that day and know the cost beforehand. I thought it was nice since I was also concerned how much my bill was going to be!

I’ve been going to Meza for a couple of years now. Due to a car accident in 2007 that resulted in a fractured jaw, I’ve dealt with traumatized teeth from the fracture area. Meaning eventually I will need an implant (s) but for now I needed a root canal. He’s not super personable or empathetic but he’s considerate.
I had no idea what to expect as it was my first root canal, but he administered the novocaine/​lidocaine really well. i barely felt it. he asked me if i was doing okay every couple of minutes which i appreciated. there was lots of drilling, filing, and other things that happened but i didnt feel them.
the receptionist and the woman who does billing are both really friendly and patient.
