GLK Custom Decking

I am absolutely shocked that GLK Custom Decking was never reviewed on Unilocal for deck building.
Let me preface this by stating that my purchase included a free standing 2^nd story deck (20×12) with a wood substructure and a Trex Treehouse composite deck and railing with 6 ambient lights. Here was my experience throughout the process.
1. Sales Process — Best I have ever experienced for a large purchase. I received quotes from multiple contracting companies. Every single one had a sales person visit the home and go through hours of sales pitches pushing for a contract signing that very same day. This was not the case with GLK. George Karsadi is the owner AND builder. He is also the one who came to my house for a free consultation and quote. There were no sales pitches, and he actually took the time to walk me through the building process. No other contractor did that with me because the person they sent for the quote DOES NOT build the deck. George does. He took notes on my wants and desires and gave me a quote through my e-​mail quickly.
2. Price — Not only did I love the personal attention provided by a small company, but GLK was by far and away the lowest price. Let’s just say that the large companies were easily 75−100% more expensive. For example, Transnational came to my house, and told me what I was looking for in a full composite deck would cost me $ 25K. Prince William Home Improvement told me a HYBRID deck (no composite posts/​rails) would cost me ~$ 15K and a full composite ~$ 20K. Let’s just say when comparing apples to apples, I spent 75−125% less than both those quotes.
3. Expediency — My neighbor went through a company called Sunshine Contracting in the Alexandria are and signed the contract well in advance of mine. I moved into my new house on 09÷26÷15 and signed a contract shortly after. It is now 10÷19÷15, and my deck is complete with everything I wanted, and his as yet to begin. That speaks volumes.
Overall, a fantastic and painless process working with George and I highly recommend him for ANY job you are doing with a custom deck or outdoor living space.
