Head James W DMD

I went to Dr. Head for all my childhood dentistry needs, but I moved out of the state to NC. After seeing a new dentist who filled a cavity for me, I started having unbearable teeth pain on a daily basis. I saw multiple doctors, dentists and even a neurologist who all kept referring me to someone else. I was so sick of seeing people who didn’t remember who I was, or the problem I was having, because no one could figure it out. I gave Dr. Head’s office a call, even though I knew I couldn’t go into the office and see him. He responded the same day, listened to my symptoms and gave his best guess at what could be the problem. He obviously had pulled up my chart before calling me, and took the time to re-​familiarize himself with a patient he hadn’t seen in a few years. That’s more than I can say for any of the doctors or dentists I’ve seen down here. I’m not sure if his diagnosis is correct yet, but I will be mentioning it to the next dentist I see. I’m considering driving back to KY to have him take a look because he is the only dentist I trust at this point. Really appreciate Dr. Head’s care and concern that he shows for his patients, I’d highly recommend him as a primary dentist.

I guess I’m one of the select few that actually don’t mind going to the dentist — especially if it’s for a cleaning, you can’t beat that feeling!
Dr. Head has been my tooth-​man for most of my life, and I’m sure I’ll keep going until he calls it quits or until I’m not in the area anymore. The office is nice, the staff is always friendly, and he is always personal and takes his time with you. He knows what he is doing, so you can be confident that he will take care of you with your comfort in mind.
As far as prices go, I’d say they’re pretty fair. If you’re new to the Alexandria area or looking for a new dentist, I absolutely recommend Dr. Head.
