Holistic Touch

Sooo. I bought this Groupon a while back when I was craving a Thai massage ala the same style I used to get back in Thai town in LA. They don’t accept the voucher on weekends and so it took me awhile to schedule something for the weekday (and were booked over the holidays).
So the type of Thai massage I am used to involves either being disrobed or in loose fitting clothes that they provide for you (I’ve had a dozen or so Thai massages before). I was dressed in tights and a knit dress since I came straight from work on a cold day. I was informed that they didn’t have any clothes to change into (she said they might think about having clothes if they get more Thai massage requests) but wasn’t apologetic about not informing me via phone/​email that I should have worn something different (i.e. yoga pants and a tank top). It definitely made for a very different experience given that she was rubbing my fleece lined tights!
Overall, I appreciated the stretch and especially when she got to my shoulders. However, I just wasn’t that impressed with the overall massage and made me miss the Thai places I used to frequent back in LA that cost ¹⁄₃ of the price and better quality. I liked their waiting room (calm music, snacks and water, magazines and other lotions and potions for sale) but the massage fell quite short and so I won’t be back.

I really like the décor and atmosphere. All the services are quality. The reason for 3 stars is because I was disappointed when I had to read in small writing after signing up for membership that the membership fee will automatically be deducted unless you provide a written request a month in advance and that membership is required at minimum for 3 months. Even though this is on their website, I first learned of membership after my appointment where the small writing was on a flyer given to me. Also, the «intuitive» reading was not something I agree with. People should be asked if they want someone else to get into their energy. Otherwise it’s an invasion. There’s too many people who want to be intuitives/​psychics these days, and I feel it is not responsible and not helpful unless they are truly gifted and have valuable helpful insight that the person wouldn’t know.

I saw Kirsten for an facial rejuvenation acupuncture. What a satisfying experience it was. She did a thorough intake and then explained the whole process. She included areas other than the face that were bothering me. The process was relaxing as well as helpful. My skin was glowing afterwards. I do plan to purchase the series of 10 sessions. Kudos to Kirsten for her gentle and caring manner.

I got a groupon for a Thai massage. Absolutely loved it. While it wasn’t a relaxing massage, and was fairly odd, I left feeling rejuvenated and limber.

I have used Holistic Touch for the past several years for facials, waxing, acupuncture, and massage, and I highly recommend the staff at Holistic Touch for all of the above! Their services are great and reasonably priced (particularly with the monthly membership) and the staff are talented, personable, and professional. I highly recommend Heather and Ginger for massage and Silvy for facials and waxing. I also highly recommend both Kirsten and Linda for acupuncture. I credit Linda’s services with helping me to get rid of migraine headaches that had plagued me since high school– a huge feat! It is great being able to get skin care, massage, and holistic health care in one spot, and my time at Holistic Touch is always relaxing and enjoyable. With online scheduling and very responsive, attentive staff, scheduling or e-​mailing with changes and questions has always been a breeze. I highly recommend.

If I could, I would give them a 4 & a ½ instead. I did 2 Groupon specials @ this business, I got a pumpkin facial from Sylvie. She was knowledgeable, attentive, & personable. Kristin was the same as well, who performed my 3 trial sessions of facial acupuncture. Because she addressed secondary health concerns too & didn’t skimp or rush, I ended up looking like a human pin cushion (in a good way). At least in my case, I will require add’l appts. to alleviate my issues.

I really like this place. I’ve had services with Sylvie and Ginger. Both are very professional and knowledgeable.

I’ve been wanting to try thai massage for awhile now so I came in during their winter special with Michelle: Thai mat massage + reflexology for $ 115 for 75 min. Not bad. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect with the thai massage except that I knew it would consist of a lot of stretching. You’re basically on a sheet on the floor and the therapist will manipulate your body into different positions and stretches while deep kneading your entire body. She said it is great for detoxing and range of motion. I found the actual thai massage portion to be a bit painful, however afterwards my body felt great so I know it is effective. The reflexology part was the best, I felt my energy blockages opening up and I was really able to relax here. Michelle also had a nice, calming energy and noted she also does reiki, which I would love to schedule with her.
The waiting area is soothing: zen music, waterfalls, and herbal teas. The receptionist was very warm and friendly. Overall, its an excellent spa that I would like to return to and try some of their other services.

I went to Holistic Touch Spa in February 2013 and I STILL have a scar on my forehead from where the esthetician did the so-​called extractions. There is a crater that won’t go away. It turns out she cut my skin open while doing extractions. So beware when you go to this business. They refunded me money for the facial but it’s not all about that. Now my face is messed up. It was fine before. I just wanted a relaxing facial.

Silvy manages to make the miserable and painful experience of a Brazilian bikini wax actually pleasant and that is a really hard thing to do!
She is kind, very gentle and very patient (I ask for breaks a lot during the session). Most importantly, she’s really good at what she does. I’ve been to several places around here and she’s the only person I’ll go back to.
As for the spa itself, it is VERY clean, very warm and inviting and the prices are great for being in a relatively expensive area. Highly recommended!

I got an upper-​body massage from Ginger, and she worked out a lot of the pain and tension I’ve been experiencing from constant use of the computer. She also showed me some stretches and exercises I can do on my own, and a week later my fingers were no longer curled at the end of the work day. Clean, relaxed, professional atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.

Had the pumpkin facial here which was awesome. The spa bed has a heating element built in. The room was tiny but dark so you can relax and just fall asleep. The lady really listened to my concerns and customized a second mask to help my super dry winter skin. I left with my skin feeling relief from being raw. They have a membership program where you can have facials/​massages/​acupuncture discounted on a monthly basis and roll over if not used. Would def come back as my skin changes through the seasons.

Holistic Touch has a convenient location and a great environment inside the front door. The waiting area is clean, they have fresh water, and there is a relaxing waterfall fountain.
I’ve been to Holistic Touch for a couple massages and facials, and had Mirka each time except for once. The other person I had was just fine. Mirka was a nightmare. The blinds were open on the window facing the street when I was changing. I didn’t realize the blinds were up and I was visible until I was bare-​chested in the window in front of South Washington Street. Mirka was so unbelievably rude, I felt uncomfortable for my entire appointment. After the first time, I thought it was just an off-​day. It wasn’t. My last time to visit, I had booked an hour-​long facial. She started almost 10 minutes late (not a big deal, as long as the entire appointment lasted about 60 minutes), and she ended 30 minutes early! I thought the appointment seemed fast, but didn’t look at my watch until I was putting it back on after I walked out the door. It’s very hard for me to believe that a professional who does 60-​minute appointments every day would accidentally cut a service so short. When I sent an email to Holistic Touch, I was so generously offered to come back for a full hour appointment at 50% off. That’s not customer service after receiving 50% of a service I had already paid for.

I bought Groupon for Brazilian. This place is located in old town, so the parking its a issue but I’m used to that:) Nice quite townhouse with very nice receptionist.
My technician was friendly, make me feel comfortable in this not so comfortable service:))) but it was more pain full then in other salon and I end up burn.
I would try other services in there but not the brazilian.

I originally purchased a «Holistic Touch Facial» groupon. I’ve been struggling with cystic acne and thought maybe a facial would help, never had one before! I was able to get an appointment with Mirka. I opted for a more intense facial and paid $ 30 more for the lactic acid (apparently its good for acne). The facial itself was fine; I really have nothing to compare it to, but she explained what she was doing and recommended at home treatments as well. She did perform extractions which were a bit painful for me; possibly because of the cysts =(
I did feel like they try to sell a little too much. Since I’m desperate to clear my skin I ended up buying some Dermalogica products. I also ended up purchasing the 3-​month membership. It’s $ 75 per month and you get 1 facial/​massage/​accupuncture, etc. per month. It’s somewhat like a package deal; so I figure, what the heck, 3 more facials once a month for 3 months couldn’t hurt! I did notice that my skin did clear up, maybe 10% from the first facial. Only complaint is that they are sometimes running behind; and if you only put enough $$ for 1hour parking you’re risking getting a ticket; but no big deal, just throw a few more quarters in there.

First time here and it was awesome! Got a Groupon for a facial and decided to try it. I called on Wednesday and was seen on Friday. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff is even better. I got a facial from Patricia and I plan on seeing her again (at least once a month per her instructions :-). I thought that it was sweet of her to say she’d call me in a couple days to see how I was doing, that’s great customer service right there (no call, but I received a card in the mail days later). She recommended products for me, but was also price aware. I’d also like to try some of their other services. The parking is street so you want to give yourself time for that. I was prompt for my appointment and so were they, which was much appreciated. I would go back in hopes of the same level of service.

Holistic Touch offers amazing services for your body, mind and spirit. I have been going to Linda now for acupuncture for about a month. She really listens to your concerns and works with you to develop a plan. She is very warm, caring and gentle and as soon as I walk into the office I feel a sense of calm. I’ve tried other acupuncturists in the past, but none stack up to Linda. If you are on the fence you should jump overboard and try acupuncture at Holistic Touch. You will not be disappointed. I’ve had trouble with fatigue for some time until I met Linda. I have a lot more energy and am not exhausted at night when I get home. She also helps with diet and weight loss. I am newly Vegan and Linda has helped me figure out what supplements to take to make sure I am getting all the nutrients I need. She is also very inspiring and feels like an old friend.
I’ve also taken advantage of the great massages. You get a high-​end spa massage at a fraction of the price and I can’t wait to get a facial and try a yoga class! I would recommend Holistic Touch to anyone. It’s a friendly one-​stop-​shop for all your holistic needs.

This is a wonderful place full of great energy! Not only was my very first phone call immediately returned, the person whom I spoke with (Linda Wentz) ended up being my acupuncturist who was kind, warm and friendly, not to mention empathetic to my demise. I had some health issues that have lasted more than 2 ½ years and had gone to the doctor many times. I had lab work, x-​rays, pills prescribed, exercised for a year! And nothing worked. For the skeptic out there who is reading this, ACUPUNCTURE WORKS! Even though I consider myself to have a somewhat open mind, I was still skeptical. At my wit’s end, I was pleasantly surprised. After only 3 sessions, my health issues have been greatly reduced and feel so much better. I’ve just completed my 4^th and feel confident that I will be able to move forward being way more energetic and productive than before.
I’m thrilled beyond and loving life! I highly recommend Linda Wentz as your acupuncturist if you’re so inclined to find a competent and experienced person who cares about her clients. For those of you worried about health insurance not covering the expense, it’s AFFORDABLE and worth every penny!!! Linda your my hero! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!

I am totally spamming Unilocal with yet another review of BM&S. Tried to get an appointment with Karin, but she wasn’t available, so was recommended to get a massage with Ginger.
Ginger’s style of massage is completely different, but equally awesome as Karin’s. Whereas Karin massages your muscles into submission and you walk out feeling loose and happily sore — like you’d just had a workout to end all workouts and you’re running high on endorphins and you want to loll around in bed for the best night’s sleep ever; Ginger eases you into relaxation and you end up feeling oddly energized and wide awake.
I’d been working 12+ hours daily for the past 2 weeks, pounding away at my computer, and I could swear my spine had compressed, and my shoulders and arms were always sore. Ginger stretched and realigned and massaged that all away. I swear, I walked out feeling a good inch or two taller, and that nagging ache at the base of my spine was gone. I’d recommend that you go for an hour and a half massage if you’re planning on working with Ginger — an hour is definitely not enough.
BM&S, you guys win so hard.

Right in the heart of Del Ray, I found this place when I was desperately seeking a massage, and called all the Del Rey massage places to see who had an open appointment. This was the first place to pick up the phone.
Carol was great. She was attentive, and provided a really strong massage. She also combined aroma therapy in both the foot bath and the massage butters. The customer service is excellent, and she actually gave me an extra 15 minutes of massage without charge. That’s a first for me in the massage business.
I’ll definitely head back to this place!
