Initial Impressions

Super quick turn around time (2 days), but the lady who was working when I dropped off my order was not particularly helpful.

Wow.
After a failed attempted at buying a christening gift on amazon and having to return it my gut reaction was to find a monogram shop and a baby blanket asap.
I made a call and spoke to a lovely lady who explained all that she had to offer (and it was A LOT). I didn’t bother calling anywhere else. I put myself into the car.
Just a few minutes away from the Huntington metro station (by car) the lovely shop has ample parking. When you walk in you’ll be amazed at how many things in the world you can stick you name /​initials on :)
Huge array of baby items, pillows, blankets, dolls, bibs, even shoes! Lots more pink than blue, but still loads to choose from. I settled on a chocolate brown blanket with baby blue accents. Embroidery of a name is included in the price. Add another line for $ 5.
I can’t wait to pick up the blanket on Friday!

There are a lot of choices here. Be prepared to make decisions, I wasn’t and Im worried I might have come across wishy-​washy. Know what you want, the color of the embroidery stitch you want, and possibly the font. OH MY!
I want to get everything embroidered now, towels, bags, shirts… WOW.

Initial Impressions is an independent monogramming and engraving boutique we discovered because the owner of a local sporting goods shop sent us there for a cute lacrosse stick bag for our daughter. The place is well set up, and the selection of items you can purchase for embroidery and engraving is quite nice. Lots of preppy belts, dog collars, headbands, and yes, lacrosse bags and tennis racquet covers in cute patterns — plus high-​end t-​shirts, caps, tote bags — all with a preppy flair. The laser engraving items are equally nice — wooden desk pen sets, frames, polished wood-​covered scrapbooks and photo albums, stainless travel mugs and water bottles. This shop is many steps above a «team» embroidery supplier, and way beyond a mall engraver. I’m sure I’ll go back for one-​off monogrammed gifts more than once or twice. This was a great find.
