Jerry’s Subs and Pizza

You have to try the Cheese Whiz Philly steak! and the Old Bay buffalo wings. It is delicious. Delivery services were perfect for me after a hard day of work.

UPDATE: Since I wrote the review below, it appears management has made efforts to repaint and fix the overhang. I’ve upped my rating from two to three stars.
First off, I haven’t eaten here in a while but past experiences have been fine.
My review pertains to the condition of the building. I’ve lived in this area for 15 years and, over the past couple of years, have seen the exterior fall into disrepair. The paint is now peeling across the roof and sections of the overhang appear loose.
The stretch of the Route 1 corridor where Jerry’s is located has undergone a much-​needed facelift recently. It would behoove Jerry’s management to take more pride in the appearance of their establishment as well.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. The cashier had more concerns about talking to the person on her cell phone than taking my order. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION.6308 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22 306

So far every time I’ve called to pick up the lady that answered was nice and nice when I came to pick up the food. Its fairly clean inside and its never busy which I like. They are fast and ready for me to pick up.

The worst experience I ever had! When they delivered my pizza, A SLICE WAS MISSING! lol im serious! They were rude to my child that ordered. This guy that worked there told my son if he doesn’t pay $ 4.00, HE WAS COMING BACK WITH THE POLICE! Also my son paid $ 14 and the total was $ 17 My son called me and told me everything and I called the restaurant and they SAID I HAVE TO PAY $ 16! I WAS SO MAD! I am going to that restaurant TO GET MY MONEY BACK! DONT ORDER JERRYS! They do NOT speak well to me!

The subs are ok but this franchise is weird. First off there is a women who is probably the starring wife of the owner other Unilocal reviewers have all mentioned. Yes, she is creepy captain obvious.
During my visit she was working the register and all the while stuffing her face from food she had hidden under the counter. Without starring into her mouth as it chewed almost violently, I could not make out what exactly she was chowing down.
I was tempted to say «I’ll have what you are eating» but she’s a scary lady that I could tell had no sense of humor let alone a sense of decency for her customers. If the place was not so dirty and crappy inside and outside it would make a great realty TV show. Perhaps Undercover Boss is a possibility.
I will come back. The subs are good and you can get coupons. I hope the ingredients haven’t been chewed by the managers wife. Really, they don’t have a clue how this franchise is suppose to work. I’ll bet Jerry’s HQ knows all about the starring lady and probably too cowardly to say anything.
But I don’t blame them. If I update the review it’ll be to post a picture of this women… If I muster up the meatballs.

The owners should be complimented for their efforts to make the outside of their restaurant beautiful. A lovely flower garden has been planted beside the picnic tables.
This simple restaurant is clean and well managed. The pizza is just typical Jerry’s pizza– cheap but nothing special.

They do what they need to do. Pizza. Run by South Asian Muslims who seem to have language comprehension issues. The wife of the manager has made an effort to beautify the front with flowers. I’ve never gotten sick from eating there.

I’ve been to other Jerry’s and this is by far the worse. They charge you $ 1 to add black olives to your sub. For a pizza, i understand a charge for extra toppings but for a sub??? Big mistake stopping here.

The owner is okay his wife that works there is crazy she is rude and she stares and stalks me and my sisters when we eat there. She has made rude comments to my sister and she ended up yelling at her and telling her we were going to complain on her. She makes my mother and sisters very uncomfortable. The food is okay but the attitude and rude comments.

I ordered a cheese steak sub. What I got was stale bread, with a gob of mayo some cheese with little meat. I complained at store with no help from management, then called and emailed corporate. They said they would check on it. Then wanted to send me coupons for more food. I declined with saying, I will never eat there again.

I order from here on a pretty regular basis because where I work I can’t always get out to grab something to eat so I have to order delivery. Their food isn’t the best but for the money you get what you pay for. However, today I am really turned off by the actions of one of their delivery people. I always tip the driver as much as I can but every time he comes to deliver my food he always complains about how lousy of a tip I give him. Now let me put it in perspective for you my food is around $ 10.00 plus the delivery fee is $ 2.00 making my total $ 12.00 roughly. I always tip the guy $ 3.00 which is more than some people would with his attitude. He’s not very personable and literally throws my stuff on the counter and walks out. This to me is horrible customer service and I will be thinking twice before I order from this place again.

Disgusting and slow! Took 15minutes for a steak and cheese sub. The bread was stale on the outside and soggy on the inside. Very messy and nothing special. The restaurant itself was gross. Trash and diet all over the floor the bathroom looked like it had never been clean.
There was also a child at the cash register. Hopefully they weren’t having him work.
Definitely drive by here.

I just placed an order online with the Jerry’s Subs and Pizza in alexandria. the order arrived on time but when i opened my cheesesteak none of the toppings were on the cheesesteak. I then called the store and was put on hold several minutes while the manager whose english was less than stellar was telling me that they had delivered what i ordered. Finally he understood and sent another cheesesteak out and the driver picked up the original at their request. Upon opening the cheesesteak it was wrapped in paper and literally all the cheese was stuck to the paper and the bread so soggy the entire cheesesteak was inedible, it looks as though a 2 year old threw it together. i then called the manager to inform him of the mess of a cheesesteak. The manager would not give me his name nor here out my complaint, i told him the mess my sandwich was in and he said they did not have any boxes and that’s why it was so messy. he then abruptly hung on me. I feel this is an extremely poor way of running a business and leaves a very sour taste with me. Hopefully jerry’s as an organization is more attentive to their customers, after all they are the ones keeping jerry’s around. I hope this is an isolated incident but until I hear back from corporate I will be avoiding all jerry’s locations especially the one on Rt.1 in alexandira

When I want gourmet pizza, I’ll go to a wood-​fired or other high-​end pizza place that serves lovely pizza with unique toppings, etc. But sometimes I want PIZZA pizza, and Jerry’s is perfect for those nights where you want a solid, yummy, cheesy, not-​greasy pizza. I’ve had their pizza three times now: once at the restaurant, and twice via delivery. All three times have been great — a chewy, toothy crust with a perfect ratio of cheese to pepperoni, and a mild but tasty tomato sauce. Solid, good pizza. And they have a pretty wide menu, but I’ve only had the pizza. I think I’d like to try that subs, since I imagine they, too, would be yummy!

Owners are rude. Especially the woman she has a big staring problem. Philly cheese was super greasy and place was not to clean.

So, I grew up in Maryland near a Jerry’s. The last time I was there was over 25 years ago, before I moved away to California. Now I’m back to the east coast and got excited when I saw this place. Back in the day the Jerry’s near my house had very good pizza, and their cheese-​steak was the best I’d ever had. I’m not kidding, it was awesome and I’ve never, not even in Philly, had better.
So back to 2011…
I’m driving down Richmond Hwy and see Jerry’s and get all excited. First thing I do is park, and the building looks a little run down, but hey, so what, I’ve had great food from worse looking places. I go in, and the place is unbelievably cheesy ghetto interior… uh, ok, well I’m here and hungry, let give it a shot. Long story short, this place Sucks with a capital S. I couldn’t beleive it. I could have made a better sandwich on the hood of my car with some Steakums, wonderbread, and pepper. They took something great and made it into a chain of ghetto crap. Who on earth eats food this bad?
So thank you for taking a fond memory and smashing me over the head with it. At this rate I imagine that in another 25 years, Jerry’s cheese-​steaks will be made of reprocessed rat feces.

Decently priced I guess, but extremely lacking in quality and I’m pretty sure nutrition. I’ve had several menu items here including pizza, the philly cheesesteak sub, and the chicken philly sub. I would definitely not categorize as «the world’s best cheesesteak,» that is for sure an exaggeration.
The pizza reminds me of Chuck-​E-​Cheese pizza — like a more expensive version of a store bought pizza… except the store bought might actually be better. The regular philly was ok, but I think you could buy some steakums and get the same quality. The chicken on the chicken philly tastes and looks extremely fake and processed.
I’ll give ‘em 2 stars because they do have decent prices, and sometimes if you’re in a pinch, that counts for something. Honestly though, I’d hit up Subway or Quiznos if I really wanted a «fast food» sub.

I ordered a sub. I ate the sub. I did not vomit (but I wanted to).
