I had a great experience here, I don’t know why there are so many low ratings. It’s Jimmy Johns, maybe others expectations are too high.

I was super excited to know I have a Jimmy Johns nearby. I called in a delivery and ordered a Turkey Tom with peppers and a bag of salt & vinegar chips. Pretty simple, right? As usual they arrive on time and even on bike. Pretty cool. I even tip VERY well for a $ 9 order. However, when I opened my bag, I was THOROUGHLY disappointed. Not only were my peppers not on my sandwich, there was little to anything else. The lettuce was maybe a pinch and the turkey was barely there. Well, they won’t have to worry about me as a customer ever again. Since I was in the process of studying for midterms, I didn’t even bother calling and complaining. I’m just glad they couldn’t mess up he chips.

Where is the negative star button? Seriously. Worst. Customer. Service. EVER! Beginning to think that rude service is part of JJs business model — although grasping to think how that makes sense. Only my third time physically in a JJ shop and after 2 progressively worse experiences this one is my grand finale. Optimal part of that word is final — as in never stepping foot in another of their shops. Everyone behind the counter should have extensive training in how to first be a human being, and if and only if they graduate should they move onto the advanced«how to talk with customers» course. The word«No» seems to roll off of tongues like its been practiced to perfection. When we stupid customers order something thats not allowed(a sandwich that god forbid has lettuce and tomato) — it might be nice to let us know what you CAN do for us — maybe provide an alternative, i dont know — just sayin — instead of just staring at us like we are stupid. Awful.

Just ordered the J.J.B.L.T. Sub; there was very little bacon on it, and in fact, it looked nothing like the picture in the menu. When I contacted the manager, though polite, he told me the get over it and even questioned my visual assessment of my meal. I order from Jimmy Johns at least 20 or 30 times yearly – No more. And I will certainly spread to word to others in my office suite. Extremely unsatisfied customer.

Very little meat and a whole lot of lettuce filings in their sandwiches. Why come here to eat when there is a Potbelly’s and Panera on the other side of the street?

Do not support this store. This Jimmy John’s location is by far and away the worst Jimmy John’s I have ever come across. The food is standard Jimmy John’s fare, but this is a very poorly run franchise. Jimmy John’s prides itself on «Freaky Fast» delivery service, going so far as to plaster the slogan across all of its stickers, napkins, and bags. However, this location took more than an hour to deliver less than half a mile away. The excuse given is a lack of drivers. Seems like an easily solved problem that the owner or managers have not been able to solve in the two years I have ordered from them. In fact, rather than solving this problem, the managers decided to take my address off of the delivery map. Now that there is a Panera nearby, I order from them. They actually deliver, and when they do it is in half the time it took this Jimmy John’s location. Until there is clear indication that ownership or management has changed, I would not recommend patronizing this place.

Trying to call them all day and no one answers the phones. Good food if you can get through.

I used to frequently order from here and began to regret it every time. I always do online ordering for delivery and the chances of my sandwich being made incorrectly is better than not. Today I decided to give them another chance and once again my sub was not correct. If you’re going to order from here, go in and order so you can question if the sandwich is correct.

I don’t always write reviews for fast food establishments, but when I do it’s because the service is awesome! I keep coming back to this place since everyone is extremely friendly. I don’t mind having to pay to park to come here; what I do sometimes is I’ll order ahead and run in and out quickly before the meter maid comes around.

I’m a lifelong JJ’s fan, and I try to make a trip to at least one of their locations a week. Usually, I’m at the one by the Walmart because I wasn’t aware that this location even existed. Though it’s 0.8 miles from my house, they don’t deliver to me. I’m super bummed about that because sometimes I just like to eat my JJs at home! Please increase your service area, please! You’ll definitely get more of my patronage! Anyway, I decided to try this location out, rather than my normal. Street parking was easy(though metered) and it wasn’t crowded at all. Actually, it was completely empty. Peeking through the window, I saw someone mopping up the floors. It looked like they were closed, but I checked their hours and they were in fact open. It was just dead inside. The workers were lounging about(except the one mopping) and weren’t particularly eager to take my order. Despite this, I placed my order pain-free. They took forever with making the sandwich, though. Not«freaky fast» at all. While waiting for the sandwich, both my boyfriend and I, at different times, got up to use the restroom/wash our hands before getting our sandwiches. We still had to wait around for another 5 minutes before we got them. But they were so good, it was worth it. I don’t know what JJs does to their sandwiches, but it’s worth the wait. The store was clean. All of the tables looked like they’d been wiped down recently, and the floors were in the process of being mopped. However, because it was so empty, the super-cleanliness of this place made it more of a creepy experience than a pleasant one. I kind of just wanted to eat my sandwich as fast as possible so I could get out of there. Despite it’s convenient location, I’ll be taking my business to my usual JJs location… That is, until the owner decides to increase his delivery range to include my house. Now that’s a different story.

I love jimmy johns. Love them. But I live within easy walking distance of the store. As a matter of fact I would have walked but for the fact that I’m sick. Instead I get told they won’t deliver. The owner has the advertised they deliver so I’m guessing what he means is they deliver to the uspto.

Quick, fast and delicious! The only thing that bugs me is ordering for delivery over the phone. The young lady had no costumer service didn’t even tell me my total and how long it was going to take. This is the second time this happens to me, next time i will let the manager know. I work in costumer service so it makes me upset when i get someone like this.

Sandwiches are usually pretty good but service is bad here. The wkend crew doesn’t greet you when you come in. No one smiles or says please or thank you. Out of 10 times I’ve asked for my sandwich to be cut, they’ve cut it 2 or 3 times. Also, be sure you retain your receipts– we were told by a store manager that they throw all receipts, including signed ones, into the trash. This leaves you vulnerable if you leave the tip/total line blank.

Using your credit card? ASKFORYOURRECEIPT! And at the very least, draw a line or scribble through the«tip» line if you are not leaving a tip — that is, if the employee doesn’t cover up the line while you sign for your purchase. Today(Sunday, just past noon), my husband and I had a troubling experience at this JJ location. My husband purchased lunch for our family using our credit card. When the cashier presented the reciept to my husband for his signature, the employee placed his finger over the empty«tip» line. He also did not give my husband a copy of our receipt. This troubled my husband and he could not get this interaction out of his mind. Before we left, my husband approached the cashier, another employee at this time, and requested a copy of our receipt because he worried about the tip line remaining blank and just had this negative feeling about the previous interaction. She said that receipts are thrown away and not kept. NOTE: We were the 10th patron that afternoon(the store just opened), so it seems the receipt would have been easily retrievable from the trash receptacle and produced, nevermind the ability of the register to produce a duplicate. My husband pressed on for his request, asking«You mean to tell me that when I sign a credit card receipt, you just throw the signed copy away? What about my receipt?» He then asked for the manager. The manager corroborated this practice: JJ throws away signed credit card receipts. This begs the question, why make us sign? Why even present it to the customer? Why are you throwing out signed receipts? What if a wayward employee gets ahold of it and adds in a tip? Okay, fine. JJ threw away the signed merchant-copy receipt(don’t you all find this strange?). And our customer-copy of the receipt without our permission(less strange, but still strange). But we were one of the first customers. So, look in the trash bin and hand us our receipt. NOPE(why not? seems easy enough). Print us a new copy. NOPE(why not? seems easy enough). They refused to provide any receipt(what’s the big deal? why not?). That is, until I approached the register and aggressively demanded it(for heaven’s sake — what is the big deal?! Just. Give. Us. The. Receipt. Or, are you hiding something?). The manager told me the register was an «old» machine and she couldn’t reproduce the receipt. I challenged her and told her to pull the copy tape that exists inside the register(anyone who has worked on a register knows there’s a duplicate tape inside the machine). Low and behold, she reproduced a credit card«reprint» of our purchase(hmm, I still thinking grabbing the signed merchant and customer-copy receipts out of the garbage would be easiest…). They NEVER produced the piece of paper my husband signed. Leaving JJ, we were left with the feeling that either JJ was extremely negligent in handling our credit card receipt OR something more intentional and sinister occurred(were the receipts really in the garbage?). We have no proof that anything illegal or fraudulent happened, but given their admitted practice of throwing away signed receipts, covering up the tip line, failing to provide customers their receipts so they may check the purchase amount against the amount ultimately listed on their credit card statement, and refusing to produce said receipts when it should have been easy to do so is troubling. My husband has already contacted corporate and reported this incident. I also lodged my own complaint/concern about this incident and further inquired about the store’s official policy with respect to signed merchant-copy receipts. That said, we will not be returning in the foreseeable future. We’re too uncomfortable with today’s experience.

I’ve been here many times, and the service was always pretty efficient, and I had no real complaints. No, seriously, I’ve been a regular — I’ve got the check-ins to back it up. But folks, I’m done. I’ve all but stepped away from burger places and fast food in general. Part of that is just because I’d like higher-quality and healthier options, but, a big part of it is service. Every time I take a chance on a take-out or fast food place, I get burned. Something is left out, messed up, overcharged, or what have you. And I just can’t do it anymore. Still, I’m mostly okay with sandwich shops and delis. But now, I have to take Jimmy John’s off my list. I understand people make mistakes, but I can’t let this one go. I picked up a few sandwiches, and watched the guy behind the counter make the subs. He had a bloodshot eye, and a scrape on his cheek. Perhaps the result of a fight? Industrial accident? Doesn’t matter. What does matter, though, is that he patted and poked his eye, because it was clearly watery/seeping. The glove he was wearing made contact with his bloody wound. And then he went back to making my sandwich, wrapped them up, and handed them over. And I just stood there, dumbfounded. I didn’t know what to do or say, so I picked up my order, and walked out. Then, something in my head said, «Moron, you can’t eat this. Take it back!». So I turned around two blocks later, and went back in. And the restaurant was empty, so the whole crew behind the counter turned to see what the issue was. And I told the cashier, quietly, that I just wanted a refund, and that the guy with a eye/face wound touched his eye and my food. She apologized, and gave me a refund, and I appreciate that, but… I’m done.

Jimmy John’s are, in general, weird places with weird unwritten rules. Such as having to ASK to have your sandwich cut in half. You dont ask, they dont cut. Who DOES that? But this particular branch was beyond weird. It had a sad, sad air, that drove me out. It felt as if I was traveling on the tailwinds of Harry Potter’s Dementors. The whole place smelled of cleaning solution, which is not appetizing. I tried to leave and take my sandwich elsewhere. But I was so creeped out, I actually just threw it out and got some soup at the nearby Potbelly. I was a big JJ fan when I lived in Pittsburgh, but I am as Fleetwood Mac said,(on the speakers in Potbelly) «Never Going Back Again.»

I am so glad Jimmy Johns has finally gotten to the East Coast! Friendly staff, efficient service, great sandwiches. Now if this were a brand only rating it would have 4.5 stars, but the franchise specific details make it 3. This location in Old Town has really early hours compared to most other franchises both here and the midwest(where everything closes early). They let me order with 7 minutes until closing, but someone was in there making smarmy comments that left me a little uneasy(it was mentioned that they watched me walk all the way across the traffic circle from my vehicle to the restaurant). Also my sandwich of choice is the Beach Club on white with easy onion. One of my favorite toppings, the bean sprouts, were conspicuously missing from my sandwich but I couldn’t go back because I didn’t notice until I was well out of Virginia. I’ll be continuing to take my VA Jimmy Johns orders to the Crystal City location.

«Worlds Greatest Gourmet Sandwiches»… no, on both counts. Bread is fresh and good… fillings are scant and flavorless — nothing gourmet here at all. While my sandwich was well loaded with lettuce and tomatoes, I actually had to double check to see if there was any meat. The only thing that had any flavor were the hot peppers I asked to be added. What gives with no salt and pepper anywhere in the store? I also had to go hunting for a napkin — none were provided and they were hidden behind the counter. Go next door to Potbelly — Better value and flavor for your bucks.
