Joseph’s Chimney And Air Duct Cleaning

I bought a living social whole house duct cleaning special and they would not honor the voucher. They then charged extra for what they claim where additional returns since we only paid for one return. They also stated that the whole house special did not include the whole house but only one duct and one return. Ive had my ducts cleaned many times but have never heard of an air duct cleaning company selling a package to clean only one duct. Then they proceeded to request an additional $ 200 for all ducts over one and for the «additional» returns. The house is less than 1500 sq ft and has only one return. Contacted the management and they stated that they needed to review the information and get back to me. They never called back. Continued attempts to speak with anyone to no avail. Strongly suggest against using this company until they can get their act straight.

Scheduled three times — three no shows. They schedule through a central number — they guy is nice, but I am not sure that he actually talks to them. No call, no message — just no show. DO NOT waste your time & money on these guys.

Bought a $ 35 WHOLE HOUSE Duct cleaning package from Living Social.
They left a message indicating that whole house didn’t mean whole house, and if there’s more than one main duct or return, that there could be a small additional fee (no hint as to what that fee would be). Repeated efforts to call them got no results.
They arrive at our house and pressured my wife to make sure everything gets done, for $ 350 more, because we have slightly longer ducts, 1 more main, and 2 more returns than the «deal allows». Note: There is no mention on the deal’s web page, the voucher, or anywhere that there are limits or what those limits are except for the vague phone call. She calls me in a panic and I say, walk away. Let him go, we’ll get it from someone else.
The technician angrily exclaims that he needs to be paid for coming out, that we’re outside the service area, etc. and he’s not leaving until he’s paid.
Having been in this type of job before, I’m sympathetic to his cause, and negotiate down to a more reasonable $ 200 additional (about what I had priced out the job without a «Deal»). He angrily goes about his business, and does a very sloppy job, makes a mess, just embarrassingly bad. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I got a Groupon for this place and they have canceled 4 times now. first time because the truck broke down, second time because they had a bigger job that took too long to complete. their window was from 3 – 5 I called them at 530 and that’s when they decided to tell me they weren’t going to be able to make it till 730! the third time they cancelled due to family emergency, this time it’s due to broken equipment. I want my money back but I’m moving in less than a week and now that they’ve jerked me around so much I am out of time… if they cancel again I will get my money back from Groupon… wish I would’ve seen that other review sooner

This has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with. They called three days before first scheduled appointment to confirm then on day of appointment they call after the scheduled time to inform us that the technician was out for family emergency. We rescheduled, they confirm the day before again and then they call the morning of to tell us that they can’t come today either because the technician is off today. If you ask for a supervisor or the owner you are told they are unavailable. Thank goodness I bought the deal through living social and they verified the story and were able to give me my money back. Would not recommend this company to anyone!

I signed up for chimney cleaning through Amazon Local. A tech came out on time and set up a 4-​inch round brush on a hand drill with extenders to clean the flue. He did not cover the flue opening, instead laid a Shop-​Vac hose (3 in. width) below the opening to contain dust. Also laid a 6 ft. square plastic on hearth and floor. It was obviously insufficient. I could see black soot in the air and covered a couch with a sheet. When he finished, there was an obvious layer of soot on the floor outside the plastic. I asked him if he was going to clean up. He told me I could get it up with my vacuum cleaner. So for a sloppy job and sloppy service, one star.
