It’s a bit pricy, but it’s a decent hair cut. I get mine cut by Leslie. She isn’t perfect. There were a couple of times that I had to tell her something wasn’t even. There was one time she cut off too much. But she was able to fix it before I left the chair.
For the price, I expect less mistakes, but I don’t expect perfection.

My hairstylist, Tricia, was actually very good. But $ 45 for a man’s haircut in suburban Virginia?!? With no shampoo, or a Ferrari thrown in? I’ve lived in most of the country’s major cities, and the usual tab is $ 30, give or take a fiver. Won’t return.

I received a TERRIBLE hi-​light job from another salon in the area and desperately wanted it fixed. A co-​worker recommended Trish from Matisse, so I booked and very thankful I did! First and foremost, Trish is very sweet and friendly. She listened to my concerns/​wants and told me her plan to fix it. It is hands down the best color and cut I have received in a very long time. She toned down the obnoxious hi-​lights and then worked them into a softer brown. I totally trust and love Trish!

went there with a groupon and got a haircut with Leslie. I went back for a blowout and still very pleasantly surprised. It sounds like the coloring is a bit expensive which I haven’t tried yet, but if you want a simple blowout for a weekend definitely ask for Leslie– very good quality and most reasonably priced in the area!

After reading the reviews, it was a with some apprehension I purchased the Groupon.
. Being no longer able to go home (NYC) and see my stylist.
Purchased the NOW Groupon & it was a great purchase.
My hair color is a perfect match for my skin tone & the trim was done as I requested. My hair looks fabulous!
The other reviewer who Criticized Farah/​Sarah (I too was confused, as it sounded like Sarah on the phone) Farah spent time looking over the charts for a perfect color match as my hair is growing out. She also spent time speaking with me about what was needed and or wanted.
I will be back!!! And it will be with my sister who lives in VA now as well!
You cannot please everybody but the other reviewer who wasn’t happy with her red tone, should also be aware that red is a very difficult color.
I had no color left on my face & think difficult people should wait on themselves in life.
Go visit Matisse & you won’t be disappointed!

I used a $ 70 groupon recently and I’m glad I didn’t pay anymore than that. My stylist was Sara or Farrah, not sure. I had black roots and leftover dark brown dye on the rest of my long hair. I requested red for my all over color and after it didn’t take my stylist thought it was fine since it was at least a hue of red. That’s not what I asked for. If so, I could have done that myself and not paid $ 70. She then told me that if I wanted it red she would have to bleach my hair and that the groupon didn’t cover that. That’s fine as well since she felt bleaching would damage my hair and didn’t want to proceed. I was ok with that. It would have been nice to know that before hand though. The cut was ok. The people were nice but I wouldn’t go back to this place.

I went in to trim my dead ends and had Sasha as my stylist. She was great! Really cute and talkative. She saw that I was apprehensive about cutting my hair and went very slow, showing me how much she was cutting and assuring me my hair would be healthy and beautiful. She even blow dried it straight and it was only $ 30 for everything! That’s the cheapest cut and blow dry I’ve ever had in this area and I love how it looks!
While the salon is not much to look at, just make sure you schedule an appointment with Sasha and you should be fine! :)

Not bad service. Went here for waxing. Had to wait a long time even though I had an appointment and showed up early. Waxer was OK. Reapplied and waxed in same area several times which caused irritation. However, while I was sitting I watched a haircut and was impressed with the relationship btw the client and stylist. I have a hair appt in a few days… will update afterwards!
UPDATE: 1÷28÷08 I did get my haircut here. Linda was very nice and did exactly what I wanted. Did not use straightening iron but I didn’t ask. I have WAY TOO much hair to impose that on anyone. I will try her again this month. Found a MUCH better waxer btw at L’Vida Spa by Brenman Park off Duke St (AKA NuYu Salon). Love it there.
