I just went this morning and experienced excellent chill customer service and the best cold brew iced coffee I have ever had. The cold brew is smooth and not acidic at all, and isn’t over caffeinated like most coffee houses do. Parking is easy to find behind the back or out front, if you can’t find any spots there is another lot right across the street from them.

Visiting Alexandria for work, and Misha’s, accidentally discovered, has quickly become my favourite coffee place in town, with my morning stop-off a highlight of my day! It’s not easy to get a good authentic cappuccino in the US(sorry guys, think Starbucks, need I say more!!!) but this place reaches coffee lovers Nirvana! Walked in this morning to find the Roaster at work — if only the aroma could be captured with the images! Even the machine is smiling(Thomas the Tank Engine roasts coffee? Who knew!!) Wonderful friendly staff, superb coffee, quirky surroundings, and the cakes and buns look like mammy baked them last night!

I really wanted to the love this neighborhood coffee shop. Better than ESP, but still lacking. The coffee is fine, maybe even good, but not great. They really really need to get better pastries and I would get over the decent but not great coffee. The space is small, so be prepared to sit outside or take your coffee on the run on weekends and holidays.

I normally hit up Killer on Sundays, but decided to give Misha’s a try since it’s right across the street. Ordering was a little chaotic because of the morning rush, but we eventually got our lattes and they were great. We also got a lemon poppyseed pound cake and a spinach/feta pastry – both were delicious. Three stars for service.

Average place with average coffee. that is all. No parking. Baristas were okay. On a busy intersection but would stop in again if convenient.

I love Misha’s. I come here at least once a week in the summer to get iced tea. It’s walking distance from my office so it’s a great spot to pop in to grab a tea or coffee and head back to work. They roast their own beans here which you can buy and bring home — my coworker often does this. Their menu is uncomplicated which is nice when you’re looking for the basics. But they still offer various flavors of coffee drinks. They also carry a limited offering of desserts — pie, cookies, etc. which are supplied by local small business bakers. The staff here is always friendly and the service is typically speedy. I like supporting small businesses like this so I come to Misha’s often!

It’s a very awesome coffee shop located in the heart of old town. On rte1. I normally go there for a coffee and a pastry. But the people behind the front counter are so nice and Kool. There excited about coffee and serving it to you. I asked once about the differences of coffees and I got an answer that is way to long to put on here but there is a lot to learn. I like going to places where people are excited to be there. Keep up the great work you guys and gals.

Walking in the menu is very messy looking as is the business, i agree with another review i saw it looks dirty but isn’t, anyway onto the drinks i ordered a 16 oz ice latte it comes with 3 shots of espresso people ! Its tasty but not WOW this is AhMaZing coffee ! When we were looking the baristas didn’t greet us or offer a what can i get ya? Great day isnt it? Which is rude i think anyway

If your idea of a «coffee shop» is more along the lines of a chain like Starbuck’s, Seattle’s Best, or Peet’s, this may not be the place for you. This place feels a little more like walking into someone’s house. Or, maybe a house shared by a mixture of college undergrads and graduate students. There is a counter at the front, and a some side rooms that felt like living rooms or dens populated by many people working on laptops and reading newspapers or books. I was just stopping by for some coffee on a Sunday morning. I ordered a simple drip coffee of the day. I think the blend that was recommended was Route 66 or something similar. The cup proudly proclaimed, «The best coffee you’ll ever have.» The coffee was hot and had a nice flavor. Adding a little cream to cool it off allowed me to drink it almost immediately and I enjoyed it. I don’t know if it is the best that I will ever have, but it was definitely pretty tasty and exactly what I wanted for our walk back down King Street to the Metro.

Decided to do a last-minute trip to Alexandria for a change of scenery. It was at night and on the way back, decided to get a small snack and something to drink. We walked in at around 7:30(they close at 8) on a Saturday night and headed in. It wasn’t the biggest place and most of their tables were full except for a large and yellow communal table off in a side room. The room was lined with large burlap bags of coffee beans and a huge coffee roaster; I assume they roast their own coffee. Nice touch, but I’m not sure about the coffee(even while bagged) resting on the ground. There were unroasted beans lying here and there. I think I stepped on some as well. Good music, though. The staff was pretty friendly and nice and they were helpful for the most part. They sort of seemed expectant, perhaps waiting for us to figure out what we wanted. Did we seem like locals? Sorry, dude. We’re from down South. Or maybe they weren’t excited more people were coming in when they were so close to closing. There were several people behind the counter and it seems like they have a system where each person was responsible for a customer until their order was fulfilled. It worked. After a moment, we settled on a small black coffee and a medium mocha(complete with ‘mocha’ art — yay!) as well as one of the few baked goods they had left: a pecan pie. I was iffy about pecan pie because they tend to be too sweet, but why not? After sitting down, we enjoyed our purchases. The coffee was good, the mocha was enjoyed after a bit(I don’t like hot drinks/food so I tend to let them sit for a while to cool down) and it wasn’t sweetened but I liked the ratio between coffee and chocolate. So far: drinks were good. I don’t know where they source their pecan pie from, but it was one of the best I’ve had! Granted, I haven’t had too many slices of pecan pie in my life, but it wasn’t too sweet and even had a chocolate flavor to it. Or maybe it was the chocolate from the mocha, but my husband even mentioned chocolate and he had the plain coffee. Not too long later, I heard one of the workers playfully ask another, «Want to kick them out?» I remember reading that they close somewhat early. Sure enough, I glanced at the time and it was 8. I decided to ask if they had a public restroom and they helpfully told me where it was. Then they added to the room in general that they were pretty much closed. I guess they were nudging at everyone to leave. I understood that(I used to be a waitress once upon a time), but though meant nicely(I think), I definitely felt more pressure to leave which wasn’t too welcome when I wanted some down time(aka no rush). In the end, I would return for the drinks and their baked goods if I wanted something to munch on. Try not to go too close to closing, if you don’t want to be [politely] shoo-ed out.

The coffee was great. It’s right off King street. The inside seating is cozy(small), and there’s lots of energy. Music, people, the sound of beans grinding, the strong smell of caffeine, and friendly and attentive staff.

I go to Misha’s to get my coffee for home use. I really enjoy the Yemen and it has become my go-to blend for some time. Misha’s is small, but feels cozy and comfortable. Parking is always a problem for me, but worth it to get my fix.

Misha’s is a coffee shop that I love going to when I bike to Old Town Alexandria. Misha’s and Killer ESP are complementary coffee shops for me since if one is busier than the other I go to the other one. Misha’s is your traditional no-frills coffee shop. Sometimes the coffee is good and other times it isn’t, but I like just like going there. Although it’s clean, it just looks dirty, probably because of the old furniture, but yeah it’s a great place just to chill and it’s biker friendly.

Love my dirty chai tea and the red head barista — 5 stars today I was in the mood for some Chai but coffee here is great also. Great ambiance, and service! Top notch.

Some of their roasts are wonderful(from Asia usually), but others aren’t that great. So it’s all about the attitude, and unfortunately some of the baristas aren’t friendly at all.

My experience about Misha is all about an educated snob vs. uneducated snob!!! =so-called barista I found this place on Unilocal drive like 10min, paid for parking and ordered 12 $worth of coffee drinks and all I asked to the handsome barista was” is this a single origin espresso?” Looked me in the eye as a disparaging creature and said“no we always make double” I repeated«no is it a single origin?(meaning from brazil, peru, Columbia v. s) espresso». Again that look and answer«We can’t give you our secrets». I chose to gave up with $ 12 spending and looked down by mr. Brad bite me looking barista. Driving all the way from New York had to chance to stop by 4 other coffee shop and my experiences were pretty good but with Misha’s it was mushy. Good night and good luck!

Local laid back no frills coffee shop with free wifi, friendly staff and tasty beverages. This place doesn’t try to be pretentious, there are boxes of supplies stacked around and the place has a really casual feel. I had a hot cocoa this time but will be back for a coffee, especially since they roast their own beans.

I LOVE Misha’s. I visit my sister in Alexandria a few times a year, and always make sure to have her take me to Misha’s so I can stock up on their Mocha Java blend to bring back up to Boston with me. Bold, smooth flavor, without any bitterness. The scones here are also great. The espresso is awesome — I prefer it to their drip coffee, which tastes more like Starbucks. Lots of seating.
