Today was my first time here and really loved it. My order was to go but I definitely would like to stop in when it’s warmer to try some gelato. The interior was very clean, calm and quiet in contrast to the crowds on King Street. As a barista, I appreciated how the gentlemen behind the counter took his time cleaning the milk wand and verifying if I wanted a traditional or American macchiato. You can tell quality is important here. My boyfriend agreed the blueberry muffin was delicious. We will be coming back!

Great spot right off of King Street. I had the Affagato and felt as if I had been wispped away to Italy where I first tried the heavenly combination of Gelato and espresso. The service was great and personable. Free wifi and a great place to enjoy a book.

First of all I loved the service — personal and friendly, awesome approach to customer !!! Enjoyed trying new flavors of ice cream before buying gingerbread affogato. Loved the quality!!! Relaxing atmosphere made me stay instead of taking it away. Love it love it love !!!

This place is excellent. The drinks were good and the place was clean and well stocked. The service is one of the best I’ve ever had in a coffee/gelati shop. I was there on the afternoon of new year’s day with my best friend. The employee of the shop always had a smile on his face, was not flustered, or annoyed that the line was long, and he was working alone. Everyone was patient and waited in line and received their orders without any mistake. When it got to our turn we ordered and then we sat at a table to wait for our drinks. The employee immediately came over to wipe down our table and prepared our drinks. We ordered the Con Panna which was the espresso with house-made whipped cream and the hot chocolate. My best friend gave the man a tip in the tip jar before we left. This man is a great employee of this shop and truly deserved to be tipped by all customers!

I am from Italy and sometimes get a craving for Italian gelato. Before Dolci Gelati there was nothing in DC that even came close to being authentic. This is the real thing: perfect light texture and bursting with flavor. The location is also great – right near the water in Old Town.

I must admit, I am a Dolcezza girl through and through. However, every now and then, I’ll indulge in something else. Last night after a bit of Christmas shopping, I stopped by Dolci to sample some of their gelato. I’ve seen their gelato at Whole Foods but only stepped into one of their brick and mortar stores yesterday. The other locations are in Shaw and Takoma Park; this is the first location in Virginia. Flavor-wise, it’s the typical Italian gelato fare and then some. Pistachio, toasted coconut, strawberry, tiramisu, chocolate, vanilla bean, and even some seasonal flavors like egg nog, gingerbread, and candy cane. I have to say, the pistachio coloring frightened me. It’s got that bright lime green color similar to the«pistachio» gelato Subway offers. However, the chocolate and vanilla bean were decent enough in taste. I ordered their butterbeer. Harry Potter inspired, this $ 5.25 drink is served cold and contains butterscotch syrup, vanilla gelato, and cream soda. Foamy on top, this drink is super sweet. It’s a bit of a departure from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s butterbeer recipe, but it still evokes a very nostalgic Harry Potter feeling in me. A bit pricey drink-wise but treat it as a treat-yo-self. Shop is on the larger side. They have a few tables in the back and large, open space in front of the counter. The staff member who served us was friendly, and we chatted about Dolci and coffee for a bit. Another decent alternative for dessert on King Street!

There are at least three ice cream and custard desert and as many or more yogurt franchise options within a block of Dolci Gelati but if your looking for a frozen treat change then turn off of king street a half block and try some gelato. There are about two dozen home made flavored and judging by the options like egg nog and pumpkin the menu changes with the seasons. I’m looking forward to seeing if my theory is correct on future visits. The shop is quaint and clean. Being only a month old it’s not busy nor does the space allow big crowds. The prices are comparable to all the desert options in old town and worth it. $ 5 for a small and add a dollar for each larger size. There are vegan options using coconut milk and coffee.

I was here on opening day, and tried both their gelato(salted caramel) and their brownies. Both are excellent in terms of quality. The gelato portions are smaller than at many of the other area shops selling frozen treats, but both the texture and taste are distinctly better than most others(with the possible exception of Kilwins, though that’s ice cream instead of gelato). The brownie(which I got without nuts) is wildly chocolatey! Not for those who prefer cake-like brownies, these are thick and gooey, like biting into a giant chocolate truffle. The portion size here is quite generous. Definitely worth visiting again!

This place offers a refreshing alternative to the downtown coffee/gelato scene. Personally j like the coffee at Killer ESP a little better, but Dolci has a huge amount of space, which is nice. Their gelato is pretty tasty, and the service is very nice. On a recent trip, I ordered a macchiato and they asked if I wanted a traditional style. I said I did, and what I got was not an Italian Macchiato. I pointed this out to my server and be made it again right away.

Great little coffee and bakery shop right off King street in Old Town. New shop so everyone is getting adjusted! Employees awesome and friendly! Owner seems cold but maybe he is just stressed over opening new business. If he wants his store to last he needs to perk up! He also needs to push special deals and advertisement to get people in the door as he is out if sight from main traffic! I say go in and SUPPORTLOCALBUSINESS! Great large coffee for only $ 2.75 or so!
