Paisano’s Pizza

first — selection is incredible: Italian, Greek, and American foods, salads deserts and all done right (at least whatever I ordered has been thus far). the order has been delivered quickly (within 25 — 40 minutes at prime time) perfect both times and the delivery driver was super friendly and professional. the pizza was NY Style, with thin crust but excellent flavors. ordered black olives, tomatoes, and fresh garlic and these were actual CHUNKS of toppings that were superb, even as they fell off into dog territory. the melted mozzerella/​provolone cheese was fantastic and very fresh as well. am not a fan of any marinara but for my Naunas so if i could get the garlic sauce at the same price, i’d rather. but the sauce didn’t take away. i got the special 3 topping large for 12.99 (crazy right). last order i opted for the stromboli, which was a little over cooked but still 4-​FRESH-​star flavors. the greek salads have me coming back for more frankly since these are GIANT salads that last me 2-​days but that are super fresh with sliced banana peppers, green peppers, red onions, Kalamati olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, cukes, and sliced lettuce. tried the Greek salad with chicken by accident, but the chicken was grilled to a tender perfection and impossible to stop eating. ask my dog Libbi, who agrees. lastly, the garlic knots could be a little less knotted (which took away from what could have been a tender doughy taste, but when over done slightly, they were a little too firm). and the cheese/​garlic topping is just the right touch. i have loved my 2 experiences, both consistently great tasting and well timed food delivered to my door on rainy days. i might have to branch out and give the spaghetti and lasagna a try next. don’t know how they have just the 3.5 rating, b/​c the stuff is fresh and tastes GREAT, either way, i have lived in the south end of Alexandria 11 years with no real delivery food to love, until now. Kudos Paisanos!

I just found my new favorite pizza place. The pizza was very hot when it arrived at my door and it had good quality and quantity of cheese. The fact that the pizza was good and the service was friendly, I ll be ordering again.

My pizzas were very good. The thin crust pizza is the best, and there were plenty of toppings. The manager even delivered it himself. I wold say the bad experience I had broke from here was a bad night, and an anomaly. This pizza was good, fast and tasty.
We will order from here again.

Interesting

I ordered a mozzarella tomato salad on my way home… quick transaction to pick it up, and headed home. It was made with the most beautiful tomato I’ve eaten this year! Deeeeelish! Thank you for exceeding my expectations!

New to the area and ordered Paisano’s delivered. The Greek pizza and garlic knots were both delicious. Online ordering was convenient and easy, and the food arrived within 40 minutes. Will definitely be ordering from them again. Lovely little local chain.

Ordered delivery from here tonight — it was abysmal unfortunately and it’s officially the last time I’ll ever spend a penny with this company.
I can’t even begin to explain how bad this place is for Subs & Fries. The pizza is slightly better than Domino’s but the rest of the food is terrible and they’ve lost my business as a result of how absolutely they careless they are with takeout orders.
For reference this was not my first order, I would never say this after 1 instance. When the place first opened we ordered from here a lot and it was hit or miss — it wasn’t nearly as bad as it’s become lately. They’ve let any level of quality control they had go completely out the door and now it’s all miss in my book.
*** NOTE *** If you want GOOD pizza there’s only 1 place to go around here — Faccia Luna (Old Town Alexandria) not far from this place actually — you can thank me later.
Anyhow — my order tonight arrived sopping wet in mayo and juice and my fries were a soggy mess of nasty I just had to toss them… For reference, I know it’s delivery BUT I live within walking distance of the restaurant which is what makes it even that much worse — it’s not even a 2 minute drive from the restaurant to my home.
I know it was late but it was absolutely terrible and I fear i’m going to be sick from what little I did eat — do yourself a favor and DO NOT order delivery of Subs (and/​or) fries — and DO NOT order late if you decide to get a pizza but do yourself a favor and hop in the car and make the drive down to other place I mention above — they put this place to shame taste and quality wise.
I can’t speak on the in-​store experience, it might be entirely different.
(UPDATE) 8÷3÷2015:
I thought for a brief moment that this wrong might have been (partially) righted when the manager of the store contacted me and expressed concern over the complete failure of their staff and disgusting food. — During this they offered to refund me the money I spent on the order HOWEVER this never materialized, no refund was ever sent and it’s been over 1 month… #paisanos.FAIL

Stopped in for dinner after we made the mistake of driving south from DC at 530pm. An hour later we were 15 minutes into what the GPS claimed was a 30 minute drive. We were hungry and figured we’d just wait out the traffic.
This is a neighborhood Pizza place. The facility is basic. A few inexpensive tables and chairs adorn a small floor space. Drinks are in a freezer to the left. Most of the interior is given over to making pizza.
We ordered thin crust pizza. This was the first thing that set this place apart from other chains. They offer thin crust pizza!
The size was about what you would get in a pizza in Europe. It is thin and really can be eaten by one hungry person. The crust was not European style, it was an American type thin crust — slightly thicker and a lot crunchier than a European crust. I liked it a lot! Crunchy crust is good!
The cheese had flavor. This may be because it was cooked to just the right golden brown, or because they mix in some different cheeses, but even on our pepperoni pizza there was the distinct experience of cheese, yummy cheese, separate and distinct from the pepperoni.
The menu mentioned calzones, gyros, and other nice things from Greek and Italian traditions. Not fine dining in any way, Paisano’s is a solid and unpretentious alternative to the big chains. The food is tons better, and the people were nice, too.

The pizza here is magnificent. But I do want to say that the onion rings were so obviously from a freezer, and the subs are not the best. So if you eat here, try and stick with a pizza unless you want freezer food.

I called last night to place an order for 11 pizzas for a class end-​of-​the-​year party today at 11AM. The store hours start at 11, and I needed pizzas by 11. I spoke with Australia, who said ordering the pizzas and having them delivered by 11AM would not be a problem. Then we went over the order and discussed how many pizzas I really needed based on the ages of the children. We discussed the various sizes, and since these were littler kids, she told me the large pizzas could be cut into squares — easier to fit on a plate and easier for little hands to hold. By the end of the conversation, I ordered two fewer pizzas than I thought I would. Then I told Alexandria because of the unexpected cold and rainy weather, I wasn’t sure if the party was actually going to be the following day or next week. «No problem,» she said, and gave me the number of the manager to text as soon as I knew when we were going to have the party.
This morning, I texted the manager around 9:30am to let him know that we were indeed having the party today, and I would need the pizzas today at 11am. I didn’t hear back, so around 10:20, I called Paisano’s Pizza. Happily surprised that someone picked up the phone, I explained the situation, and they told me not to worry. They were working on our pizzas, and someone would definitely be there at 11am.
They arrived at 10:55. I was amazed. We got everything set up, the children had their pizzas. Chaperones had their pizzas. All great! We had ordered large cheese and large pepperoni pizzas. I should have counted how many little squares it had, but it was a lot! We also ordered the Supreme and the Garlic Spinach. Delicious!
This is the first time I’ve used Paisano’s, and they came recommended by another parent. That parent was right! I will be back again. Just based on my experience today, they are perfect for last-​minute requests and parties (accommodating little hands) with on-​time, delicious food. What more could I want? Ask for Australia! although all the staff I interacted with were top-​notch.

I order from here frequently. I think its decent quality seeing as how i usually turn my nose up at a good percentage of carryout/​delivery places. The salads are good and so are the subs not to mention the bacon cheese fries. But if your looking for something off their menu thats a solid goto almost daily look no further than their gyro … And im picky as they come when it comes to gyros. Give that a try and youll definitely be back. Also the portions are pretty large if you ask me as well.

I can’t find the review I posted so I am writing another one. I absolutely love this place. I eat here all the time. I love their greek salads and the salad dressing is awesome. They are always very nice and fast.

I’ve ordered from here, online delivery, three times so far.. I’m extremely picky. I mean, I’m annoyingly picky. I’m careful with my orders because I know that a pickle can make an entire dish inedible. With that said, this place has never delivered a single dish wrong. The first time, I ordered cheese fries and a gyro, which both were perfect. The second time, I ordered a steak and cheese sub with extra cheese and a child’s spaghetti with meatball. Both were perfect, and huge. I had a meal for lunch and dinner. This last time, I ordered their triple decker sandwich and asked to add red onions, and a plain child’s spaghetti. Again, plenty of food, delicious, fast, and the delivery person was completely professional and courteous.
I’m not one of those people who hands out five stars, but I’m also not one of those people who is determined never to give one out. The food has been great, never greasy or cold, the service has been prompt and courteous, and the price point is proper. They’ve done everything you can expect from them, so they earn five stars.

Super easy, not expensive, consistent and close bye. Thus perfect for us.
If you live near bye try this place. Take out is fast and service is friendly. You can eat in but there are few tables. Not especially memorable nor worth a long drive. But we end up getting take out almost weekly from here.

I went back over the weekend. I ordered another pizza, was much better. I had talked with the owner previously, she said the next pizza would be better …and it was. I asked my son how good was the pizza and he said 5 stars. So there you go!

I like paisano’s this location should be a third party don’t do justice for the name thank you for the complimentary meals wish I had a good delivery place for subs

Update on my «boycott» from Paisanos: they won, I couldn’t hold out any longer (those subs & pizzas are just too damned good).
Actually, I spoke with the manager, who apologized and then personally made me a free steak & cheese sub (a brief thought of a «sneezer» floated quickly by peripherally in my mind, but I dismissed it — he didn’t seem the type, and, frankly, I was too damned hungry to care).
Anyway, a couple of mistakes out of about a hundred orders isn’t bad for a busy restaurant, especially if they go the extra mile to make things right.

My classmate and I got hungry working on a school project and decided to order some grub. He took my suggestion for pizza. We settled on Paisanos.
Delivery was swift and the pizza which was a medium supreme was tasty with fresh toppings. This chain is booming which can be due to the great flavors this place has to offer. I really enjoyed the pizza. Hard to believe this is a chain place.
I remember seeing a commercial for Paisanos with some redskins players in it. At least they can get one thing right: a solid pizza chain!

Had been to this establishment a couple times since they opened and pizza was ok and salad was good however my third experience tonight 11÷12÷14 was not good and I will not return due to poor customer service. Apparently they were having national pizza day 7.99 one topping large there was a lot of people in the restaurant however when I approached the door it would not open I tried both doors looked In to see all of the employees at the front watching me attempt to come in a laughing. No one ever came to the door to say they were closed or anything just laughing and I called once I returned to my car and the young lady said she didn’t see me and informed me they were open. Never returning back. The sad thing is I liked them however that is no way to treat a customer. What even makes it more sad is I didn’t even want pizza.

I had never been to this chain before the new one opened near my house. Definitely of a better quality and better service than the big national chains. However, I knocked it down a star because the price is really high and doesn’t justify the premium. Ledos is a better option for the slightly higher end pizza.
I did like the garlic pizza, garlic knots, subs were decent and huge, and the Greek salad was standard but decent. The dressing was a little thick and weird so get something different.
