Bloody veins in my sushi. I asked if it was common would you believe they said yes?!? No never in my ten years of eating sushi have I ever ate bloody vein sushi. They also said they knew it was in there… And sent it out. Discussing. Waitress was great. Service was good… Interior looks fine. It’s mostly clean. Seats are torn…

I travel all over the US and Canada for work and the places you least expect, surprise you the most. It’s always the last few days you are there when you find the gems. Sake Sushi is a legitimate contender. Their unique rolls(The Louisiana roll and Maple roll) are awesome. Crawfish and oysters in a sushi roll? Yes and it works. If you come to Alexandria you have to give this place a try.

Whatever you do, if you want to make a to-go order, definitely don’t do it. I seriously called them 23 times and they didn’t answer once. What kind of service is that? However, their food is good. Service is awful though.

We came in a noon, on a Thursday, to an almost full parking lot. We were seated immediately to a clean, central table, despite the lunch rush. The patrons ranged from maintenance mechanics, to business men to nurses. The service was fast, and orderly, starting with a hot towel and drinks served quick and just enough time to survey the menu. Having been less than thrilled with other sushi i have had in Cenla, i was super excited to find an extensive Japanese menu, and not just gummy Americanized rolls, I’m looking at you Panda. Sake Sushi has a huge selection of rolls, inari sushi, hamachi kama, donburi, bento boxes, edo style pressed sushi, mochi ice cream, etc. The menu will provide many trips of food exploration, and we are very excited to feel out the offerings. My fiancé ordered the chicken katsu donburi, which arrived piping hot and smelling wonderful. I think the only issue he had was the katsu was under the egg and veg and it made his breading less crunchy that it could have been. But he was extremely happy with the food. My sashimi lunch arrived a little slower and was beautifully plated. The sashimi in Cenla, from my experience is cut very thick, and the only fish i feel was hindered from that was the tuna, which, while flavorful and fresh, seems tougher when cut so thickly. The other fish did not have this problem and i was very satisfied with my meal and will most certainly be returning to the place for more.

The service was fine. The price was a pinch high. I ordered the Tiger Roll and it was delicious. The squid salad was good with plenty of squid, but it was a bit soggy and there was a puddle of juices in the bottom of the bowl. The sake was good priced and tasty. So overall I’m glad I tried out the restaurant, but I’ve definately been to sushi houses with better prices, more selection, better ambiance and better service. In short it’s your average sushi restaurant.

Saki sushi is amazing!!! The service is always great and the food is delicious. We eat here very often and have never had a problem! Sake sushi really has the freshest and most tasty sushi I’ve tried! For people who eat raw sushi I would recommend the maple roll, BMW roll, rainbow roll, and salmon sushi. And for cooked rolls I recommend the pink lady(not on the menu), snow crab tempura roll, snow crab naruto, and the cajun roll. I also like the calimari and snow crab salad.

Favorite sushi place! I always get the crunch roll! They’re big and comes with a lot. I love to sit at the sushi bar and the crab salad you get before is my favorite! Definitely recommend!

The outside aesthetic is less than desirable. Looks like a cement bunker. However, I was surprised upon entering! Much more seating than I thought it would have and a rather modern-looking interior too. The staff has always been attentive and service is quick. During lunch, they have some great specials. My favorite roll is the SnowCrab Naruto Roll which is wrapped in fresh cucumber! Reasonably priced for decent sushi. I would give this place a shot. Don’t let the outside scare you away!

I had shrimp yakisoba, when I saw the dish, I was like: are you kidding me? The amount is just enough for a kid, it’s so different from the picture uploaded by Helen. Not worth it.

I’ve been a frequent customer of Sake for nearly ten years, and it has never disappointed me! A few(okay, a handful) of my favorites are the Steve Roll, Alexandria Roll, Cajun Roll, crunchy roll, and the crawfish roll.

Have been a few times over the past week. It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but it’s great inside. First time we came here for sushi dinner. Sat at the sushi bar which is our normal. They gave us a crab/cucumber type salad deal when we sat down that was delicious. You can order the standard miso soup and salad with ginger dressing. Not sure if it’s worth the price, same salad and soup you get at every sushi or hibachi place. Sushi was really good. I’m from California, so we’ve been pretty spoiled with sushi. We got the Las Vegas roll(which I don’t think is on the menu, but is a pretty common specialty roll… They knew exactly what is was and made it). Spicy tuna with soy paper, and a few other things. All very good. I noticed they also had bento boxes for lunch so I decided I would come back on Monday for that. For less than $ 10 you get a HUGE meal. The crab salad thing, choice of soup or salad, 2 wontons, half orange, 8 pieces of California roll, and a main course(I had chicken teriyaki and white rice). It was huge and all very good. Wife got the beef teriyaki. It was okay, very fatty. Stick with the chicken. This place will def be mixed into my lunch routine.

This is great sushi with a wonderful presentation. The owner, Irene, is a stickler for excellence. And Tony is a great server! Ask for him by name! Highly recommended!

I am on a mission to eat sushi each night of this week in a different city. This was day 2… I decided to do a search on my navigation for sushi. I simply picked this place, read a review and decided why not … woohoo for expense accounts! Greeted immediately and sat at the bar, which was full. I didn’t expect a crab salad as an appetizer, but was handed one almost immediately. I’ll say this much, I could have made a meal out of it, it was that good in my opinion. Light and flavorful. After reviewing the menu I decided on a tuna roll, a crunch roll with mango(mmm … I love mango) and then engorged myself with a shrimp tempura roll, also including mango. Yes, these are pretty boring choices but it’s what I wanted. Serving sizes are ample, remember I said I engorged myself with the extra roll. The food was soooooo good and I can be a sushi snob! Service was spot on from the moment I was greeted, to the instant the sushi chef handed me my food, I never lacked for anything. My only negative was not knowing what the special rolls were for the day so I could have selected. Partially my fault, partially the servers. I will be back… and am looking forward to the visit!

By far the best Sushi in Alexandria, nit like there are many choices. I’ve has sushi all over the country and it’s good, if I ever need anything else the staff never hesitates to get it for me. One tip… you MUST sit @ the Sushi bar, much better experience.

I read the reviews, I got suggestions from the people I am working with, yet when I pulled up I was a little leery. The exterior has definitely seen much better days. I stepped inside and was greeted by a very young boy with a very obvious language barrier. He showed me a seat and after repeating myself about 7 times he got me some water and seaweed salad. Once he came back to take my order I had the question on the contents of a specialty, he had no idea what it even was, he had to wait for another waitress to become free to come explain it to me. It ended up containing crab so I ordered some old standbys, a Philly roll and spicy tuna. For the heck f it I also got the oshinko roll, which was a roll made with pickles! I got the plate and saw the sad portion of wasabi and ginger and was nervous on the quality of the food. Furthermore there was absolutely no presentation to my food, it was just plopped on the plate. Nervously I started with the pickle roll. The pickle itself was pretty tasteless but the nori and rice were well seasoned and fresh. The spicy tuna had an amazing bite to it, and the perfect amount of crispy onion mixed in the roll. It also was not drizzled in spicy mayo– always a major sign if quality. The salmon in the Philly roll was the most amazingly smokey delicious salmon I have ever had in a sushi roll. Surprisingly there wasn’t avocado in the philly roll, but perhaps if it had been there the smokey flavor of the salmon would have been downplayed. The seaweed salad also had crushed red pepper in it, giving the sweet dressing a nice counterpart.

Sake Sushi is a top notch Japanese restaurant in Alexandria. The menu has a great selection of appetizers, sushi, noodle dishes, and other favorites. The presentation of the food here is excellent; the rolls come out looking like culinary works of art. My favorite item from here is one that’s not actually on the menu. My friend at work told me about the spicy red dragon roll, and man is it good! I also really like the snow white roll. From the appetizer menu I highly recommend trying the haru maki; it’s delicious! My most recent visit here was on Valentine’s day. My girlfriend and I came in here for dinner around 8:30pm. I think maybe someone called out sick because they were very busy, but there were empty tables. It took about 10min or so to get seated. Our drinks were brought out pretty quickly, and the appetizer we ordered was on the table in about 7 minutes. Our waitress Ashley was very friendly and professional. She let us know that they were quite busy, and that our food would take about 15 minutes to be prepared. She was pretty much spot on with that. I don’t usually give individual staff members a mention in my reviews, but Ashley is very deserving of some special appreciation. She really is one of the most courteous, friendly, and professional waitresses I’ve ever had. She’s been our waitress here twice now, and both times her service was absolutely outstanding. Great job Ashley!!!
