Bad service. When I asked to speak with a manager because of the service the waitress was giving all these excuses and tried to kinda blame me because I was not ready to order at first but it should not take 20 – 30 minutes for you to come back to take an order! Plus more people came to our table and she still didn’t come. I asked to speak to a manager but apparently he was too busy to even bother to come talk to me. What kind of manager is that? What’s weird is that the place wasn’t packed. Also, worst tamales ever!

Always amazing fresh food and excellent service. Our very favorite place for carne asada, taco salad, and pollo saltado!

Place is ok, food is good but they don’t have good cocktails. Amc is right there so if you want to get Mexican food before a movie that’s your place.

Good Happy Hour Prices. Great place to eat a bite before catching a movie. Favorites are the Grande Nachos and the Shrimp in butter sauce. Clean with friendly staff.

Great place for drinks and the food is good too, love their fried plantains. Just feels more Cuban than Mexican for food options… I’ve described it as high class Mexican food.

Food is ok. This is not authentic mexican but it gets the job done. There is a Puerto Rican plate there call asado or adobo puertorriqueño which does not meet any expectation. Prices are alright for the area. I love the happy hours and appetizers which that will be my recommendation.

I’ll start with the good, it’s conveniently located, serves cheap food & drinks that come quick & also never made me sick and the wait staff is always really nice and very attentive! I used to really like this place when I first moved in the area(2002), but it just seems like things are starting to fall waist side… the food is edible, but you should know that it’s not really a place you choose to go to and expect great authentic Mexican, at best you will get a decent Tex-Mex. I don’t really go here anymore because of the way things have gotten as the years passed, the place really needs a make over/renovation and the food needs to be revamped!

They’re only getting one star because our waiter was nice. This experience was awful beginning to end *we arrived and it was extremely warm in the restaurant. It’s DC in the summer, and the lights at your table give off heat. Adjust the A/C to account for that *it took some time for anyone to come see us, and when our waiter finally took our drink order it was a long time making it to the the table and we had to ask for chips and salsa *the food. Yuck. My Lomo Saltado was basically a plate of soy sauce. Yuck. *and the worst part was the sketchy antics of the manager on duty. We had ordered margaritas with call tequila. We realize that this results in an up charge which is fine. We’d rather have good tequila. But here’s where the sketchy comes in. Our waiter brings our check and lets us know we were charged more, but we were charged twice as if it were two separate drinks for one margarita. And the resulting charge is far more than one would expect for just using call tequila. Furthermore when the manager came over he was well aware he had been sketchy as he started with the fact that he’d take the weird second charge off the bill Again, if our waiter hadn’t been friendly and helpful through all of this it would have been my first zero star review. There is nothing redeemable about this place.

I had the worst tasting corona-Rita I’ve ever had at this restaurant and trust me, I’ve had them at a lot of places. It had an odd taste and color. The food, chicken quesadilla was average but the queso dip tasted like Velveeta. I’m quite certain it’s probably a generic version of the processed cheese sold by the vat. Our server was attentive all night until we asked him for the check then he came back 15 minutes later. We had a movie to get to so we were all standing up so he would notice we were serious about being ready for the check. The best part of the experience there was the Dos Equis Light. I would only go back to have drinks before a movie. If you looking for good food, go pretty much anywhere else.

3 stars at happy hour for cheap eats and cheap margaritas. Make sure to get there early though to grab a seat as the happy hour deals are only good at the bar area and seats go quickly!

I stopped by this place for the second time this weekend and feel like it’s certainly worth reviewing. They have great drinks specials and good food. The portions are large and shareable for those counting calories. They have decent-sized margaritas both the small and the large ones are worth the cost. On my last visit I stuck with drinks and found that it was pretty quiet for a Friday night(which was fine with me). During my 1st visit, my friend ordered this crab quesadilla thing which was yummy. I ordered chorizo tacos they came with some delicious guacamole. During both of my visits the staff didn’t seem stingy with the nachos they kept coming and were accompanied by a spicy salsa dip. This place is adjacent to the Eisenhower movie theater and across from a few other diverse restaurants, but I would choose this place any day for a few drinks or a meal before or after a movie.

I understand why such a convenient and cozy venue had about 10 ppl inside on a Friday night. The customer service is awful. Most of the employees don’t speak English. My brother and me called from different phones trying to place an order and the same female would answer and put us on hold w/o returning. When I finally got there a nice guy said he knew who was responsible and grabbed the manager. The manager hesitantly walked over and gave a dry apology. I told him I would like wings and a drink. He signaled me to the bar for my drink. Really!!! He discounted the wings but I would have preferred full price for better service. I give 2 stars because the margarita was good and the host was pleasant with attempting to rectify the situation.

I love this place. The margaritas are cheap and taste delicious! I think it was only $ 3.99 for a Strawberry during happy hour. I also love their spinach and cheese enchiladas. It is a large open layout with plenty of room for groups. They usually are accommodating about splitting the checks, as well. We usually stop in when we hit a movie, as it is right next door. Good location and good atmosphere if you are looking for a casual, laid-back meal.

I dropped in because I had some time to kill before my movie started next door. No one was by the door to greet me when I walked in and then I sat at the end of the bar because I didn’t see any other available seats. I sat here for almost 10 minutes with no acknowledgment from any staff though a few made eye contact with me. I moved to be further from the cold air from the entrance. Still… no greeting or acknowledgement! After 10 more minutes a server I hadn’t seen yet walked up to me and took my order. I wasn’t given a menu or offered chips and salsa. My margarita came promptly and was delicious. I literally still cannot believe the poor service. I would have walked out but it’s too cold out to try another bar, at this point I def deserve this drink!

This restaurant is conveniently located next to the Hoffman Center movie theatre. I stop in to grab a drink before the movies. Hunny boo boo chile let me tell you that the drinks here are on point for sure! Want something strong before that funny movie? Want something to relax you before the movie? Want a buzz before the movie? STOPHEREFOR A MARGARITA! House, customized or whatever all of there Margarita’s are good and STRONG. I ordered an appetizer of nachos and they were pretty good. I honestly haven’t eaten a full meal here in a very long time but I do recall them having great fajitas. Definitely worth the stop!

I wasn’t a fan. The food made me sick(had the tamales), people waited too long to get their food, and it was very loud and noisy. It also is not a kid friendly place(don’t bring your kid if he or she is younger than 6 years old). The only redeeming thing about the place was they have very good chips and salsa dips. Their guacamole and queso dip are very good too. I tried my mothers carne asada and that was good too. The rice was average and the refried beans were too watery. If I return I’ll change my preferences, but this was not a good first impression.

Probably my favorite restaurant in the area. The lady and I love going to this place for date nights. I was born and raised in San Diego, but lived in Austin for a while so you could call me a Mexican food savant. This place has Tex-Mex on lock. I’ve probably been here at least eight or nine times now, and have gotten something different every time I’ve visited and haven’t ever been disappointed. You can’t go wrong with this place. The staff has always been really friendly and very attentive to me, even when it’s really busy. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

They have the standard Tex-Mex fare but the standouts for me are the specialities. Try the Ropa Vieja which is a Cuban dish of shredded beef stewed in tomatoes and peppers(Think of really good pot roast with Latin flavors!) and served with rice, black beans, and fried plantains. Really good. My dining companion had the Tacos Mexicanos with beef that were also excellent. Flavorful, juicy, and really good.
