Good Peruvian chicken. This seems to be more a to go place but I ate in, they have about 10 tables. Chicken was good, decent flavor, not too strong. French fries were good and fresh. The sauces were ok, the green was spicy, the white was almost like a sweat runny mayonnaise. I would go back if I was in the area but I’m not dying to go back.

Had a good challenge with señor chicken and chirilungua chicken and steak side by side. Señor chicken — not as flavorful as chirilungua but has a smoker charcoal flavor. Juicy chicken too, and it came out of a warmer not off the rotisserie. ¼ chicken with no sides was 4.95 $ after tax. Would come here again as it seems like they get more business and probably had more chickens on the rotisserie to serve«fresh» chicken unlike the other place down the road. Not the best place, but I wouldn’t regret eating here

Tasty Peruvian chicken, served fresh and hot. Not a fancy place and not a ton of sides to choose from. But mostly go here for the chicken.

Señor Chicken is awesome if you hate your family and you have to get carry-out to bring back to them. Trust me – I speak from experience. I know when I go there that I’ll have to put up with bad service at the cash register and then sit around for 20 minutes while some person with a frown slowly and grudgingly puts a chopped up bird carcass that was made hours ago in a styrofoam container with a crappy salad that will be thrown away immediately when I get it home because it’s always gross and never worth eating. And that’s cool, because I’d rather be yelled at for 20 minutes by the jerk at the counter while sitting in a dirty, worn booth than be at home with my wife and kids for those 20 minutes. The kicker is that when I get home, I know that my ungrateful family will have to deal with dry, bland chicken — at least by Peruvian chicken restaurant standards. Seeing those whiny brats try to get those dry chicken breasts down their fat, stupid gullets is always a bit of a laugh. If I liked my family, I’d go a couple of blocks down Mt. Vernon Ave to Chirilagua Pollo and Steak, where the food is much better, the service is a lot faster and the people are a little friendlier. But screw that. I want my family to suffer, so I’ll keep getting them Señor Chicken. Plus, there are always shady people hanging out around Señor Chicken, so maybe I’ll get shot and be taken out of my misery. We can only hope.

I had the displeasure of ordering take out from here last week. Basic chicken rice and beans which took 30 mins to be put together. The 2 people on staff were not pleasant. This was the worst food I ever tasted, this chicken didn’t even come close to Peruvian it had no seasoning and the sides lack flavor as well black bean and rice was poorly put together. Shame on them for serving such horrible food. Save your money and don’t eat here

The Bottom Line: Best Peruvian Chicken in the area. Tron Davis had eaten at all the hot Peruvian chicken places, but he loves this one one the most. Don’t get him started on the succulent breast and juicy thighs with that golden brown skin. Whenever he sees one of Señor Chicken’s birds his mouth waters. You should try the fried yucca a well. He will be back!

This place was very disappointing! After reading reviews on her I decided to check it out! The chicken had ok flavor but I have had much much much better! The sauce were watery and not spicy… The rice sides were microwaved to be heated… The fries were soggy and unsalted! I would never go back there again!

As others have noted, the owner at the counter is not friendly. He and the cook shouted at each other(in Spanish – I’m not fluent enough to know what they were carrying on about) for the 20 minutes we had to wait for half a chicken, yucca and rice and beans. It was uncomfortable. The chicken is tender, and the skin is seasoned a bit like BBQ. I prefer Pollo Rico or Pollo Ranchero because the seasoning is better and the wait is much shorter. The yucca was fine. The rice and beans was not good – it was all mixed together and seemed to be the kind you can get at the grocery store in a mix – Vigo, maybe? It was salty. We threw that out. Don’t think we’ll be back.

Señor Chicken is a great place if you want your Peruvian chicken to go. Dining in might be considered a little divey so we like to take it home and enjoy it. If you live close by, the chicken will stay crispy and juicy and the the yucca fried will be crunchy! The best deal is the whole chicken meal which comes with a side and 2 small salads. Though the salads are pretty much just iceberg lettuce(aka leafy water). The chicken is delicious and I would definitely recommend yucca over french fries. The dark meat is always tastier than the white meat… though the white meat pieces are usually huge! Their sauces could use some improvement. The yellow/white sauce has a sweet taste to it and I’m not really into that so I would add some vinegar or yellow mustard to counteract that. The green sauce has a nice spice to it but it’s a bit more watery than some other versions I’ve had. It’s right next door to the 7−11…oh and this place is still cash only!

«Pretty Good Peruvian dive in Alexandria» Food: 4⁄5 Service: 3/5(counter service) Atmosphere: 2⁄5 Parking: 4⁄5 Cleanliness: 3⁄5 Señor chicken has some pretty tasty Peruvian dishes — their chicken sandwich is easily one of the best I’ve had, the spicy green sauce is made fresh and is great, the cole slaw is sweaet and authentically Peruvian with lime and cumin. Overall good Latin lunchy-divey-carry out type of joint, nothing fancy. Parking is easy and is located in the ghetto strip mall around the«Chiralauga» area of Alexandria(might want to lock your car doors if you go at night)…just saying. Anyhow, the place is sparsely decorated and only passingly clean. The counter service is best done in Spanish and the cashier is one of the owners(old Peruvian man) 99% of the time. Though somewhat gruff and unsmiling, he is efficient and gets the orders correct. Warning! This is a cash-only situation which easily took off a half star from my review so beware. Otherwise, stop by sometime.

There was only one customer in front of me on a Wednesday night around 8pm. Señor Chicken offers a full chicken and two sides for only $ 14! What a great deal! The manager stated they haven’t raised prices in a couple of years. Quite a testament given competition and the economy. So I went ahead and ordered a full chicken. Five minutes later a nice size Peruvian Chicken was ready, along with my salad, and yucca. The chicken had just the right amount of seasoning yet the skin on the breast was a bit dry. The green sauce wasn’t too spicy but the white sauce was sweeter than what I’m accustomed to. No big deal as I still enjoyed it. Señor Chicken definitely provided just the right amount of sauces for customers. They provided a salad dressing as well but it was actually hidden(in a small container) located within the salad to go box. Perhaps in the future the dressing can be separated from the to go box. Overall 3.5 star rating for Señor Chicken.(4 stars for price and quality /3 stars for the dry skin and salad dressing)

I love the name of this place. Not sure why but I get a huge kick out of it. The chicken is tasty and the fries are really good. I usually order ¼ dark, fries and soda + tip = $ 9. It comes with a small salad. Great deal for lunch. I can’t speak for authenticity, but I usually eat here with a friend from the office who’s wife is Peruvian. They love the place. They say it’s the real deal.

This chicken is pretty good. It is moist, but not as seasoned as some of the other Peruvian spots. They have some good sauce though, and the fried yucca was yummy. When I arrived, the place was empty. A little girl walked in to pick up her food, and asked for extra sauce. I should have asked for extra sauce too. That’s some good stuff.

—-2.5 stars — – CASHONLY 12 noonish on a weekday is busy. When my friend and I came here, nearly every table was occupied except the last one. It’s a small joint, maybe 1 small table in the front, 5 booths along the wall. Chicken is decent. Now, I can only compare this to Super Chicken which is top notch in my eyes. I still have yet to try El Pollo Rico. We got a whole chicken, enough for the both of us, and still have leftovers. It comes with salad and we ordered a side of rices. Not as juicy or flavorful as Super Chicken but a good spot to check out. Why only 2.5 stars? Fruit flies constantly buzzing while I’m eating is not cute.

The place was empty early on a Saturday night, but the chicken still came up in just minutes. Cooked to order or not, though, it was a pretty tasty bird. The best part by far was the green sauce that came with. Tasty yuca too. The place is nothing much to look at, but it was very clean and the staff was super friendly. I’ll definitely be going back, and I’ll definitely be asking if they’ll sell me a gallon jug of that green salsa, as it haunts my dreams.

This is some good Yard Bird! I’ve been here several times as i worked in this area for about a year and a half and this was one of my favorite Friday ‘treat yourself to lunch’ joints. Fancy it’s not, authentic, yes! Muy Sabroso, Pollo! Consistently good, generous portions, great for call ahead and take out. If you dine in, sit in a booth and listen to some great Latin tunes and enjoy the Latino vibe!

I’ve been here 3 times, and after finally visiting the joint where Peruvian chicken is measured, El Pollo Rico, I would say Señor Chicken has just as good a bird as theirs. Fries on the other hand are pretty lousy. El Pollo’s are far superior. The only other side dish I’ve tried at Señor’s is the rice, which was good. Señor Chicken is just minutes from where I am and I will continue coming here to pick up a bird during the week. These chickens are way more flavorful than a standard rotisserie chicken. My experience the first time I tried it makes me think of the first time I tried a fried turkey on Thanksgiving, I just couldn’t go back to a regular roasted one. Even if you try and be somewhat healthy and take the skin off their chicken is delicious and very well seasoned.

Is a 3.5! I know my peruvian chicken. I have been surrounded by peruvians for a good part of my life and I know what good charbroiled chicken is. I love chicken and specially the original peruvian style. With that out of the way, Señor Chicken is good. It is not the best by any means but is good, juicy and tasty. The only problem with the chicken is the size … A big plus for this establishment is the side orders. Everything is home made, we ordered the platanos, the yuka and the fries. Everything looked good and like they had peeled and cut the ingredients themselves. That makes a big difference. Unfortunately I can not give it 4 stars just yet, because I would be lying or being too noble. Give it a try.

Im not exactly sure what makes Peruvian chickens Peruvian, but they’re some good chickens. However the real reason to go is that green sauce. Really, I know it seems silly that one sauce would be reason enough to eat here, but it’s true, and I’m not even sure what that stuff is. Senior Chicken is what caused my dog to start getting into the garbage. He smelled the leftovers and just couldnt resist. I dont blame him, it’s good stuff.
