I normally only review restaurants but I had a good experience here and felt like sharing. Unfortunately the receipt doesn’t show the clerks name that rung me up, but he was fantastic. I’ve never seen someone at Staples go out of their way for you(except those phony — ‘can I help you find something’ greetings). One item scanned the wrong price and without question he took my word without calling a supervisor. Overrode the register without any hesitation. Wow, a retail employee that actually trusts a customer? Not used to that. I will return here for my next load of office supplies thanks to this unknown cashier who made me feel good.

This isn’t a very good Staples. Selection is poor, shelves are sparse, staff doesn’t know what they have. It looks like they will go out of business soon, perhaps within the year. It’s unfortunate because I buy a lot of office supplies.

So this Staples may not hit the mark with some reviewers, but for me it rocks. They always seem to have what I want, and the staff is super helpful. On a recent visit, I was shopping for the perfect work chair. I was ready to spend up to $ 500 for cushy comfort when the manager alerted me to a model he said he absolutely loved. It was just $ 130, so I was a bit skeptical at first, but once I sat in it, I realized that the manager was correct. I saved a ton of cash and found the perfect chair.

They must have the worst turnover in retail. Another new clerk, today. Tries to tell me that I can’t use a coupon to purchase an item and use store credit to pay for it. Huh, I guess if the scanner doesn’t do everything for them, it can’t be done. No one trains these kids and why oh why should a cashier know anything about math. No ink on the shelves, but several baskets sitting in the way with ink and plenty of other stuff. Oh, they did have the right ink – just not for sale. This place also crashed my old computer after taking a week to supposedly transfer the data for $ 99. They weren’t able to reboot my husband’s computer, either but charged us anyway after more than a week went by with it just sitting in the store(they never called). Except for used ink cartridges, I haven’t received any rewards for purchases for over a year and don’t know why. Glad I can buy supplies elsewhere because it is just to frustrating deal with this store and it’s constant turnover of help. PS: It was run properly up until about 3 years ago.

Kinda dead and depressing. But the fax and copy center works well and is way better than annoying kinkos. The main place to fax and print in the area anyways since no kinkos are nearby. Clean and well maintained. In general most of this stuff you would buy on amazon or at walmart. But if you want to go in a store not a bad place.

This is the worst run staples i have every been in. I purchased my last phone there only because it was dirt cheap and I had to go back 3 times wasting over 3 hours because they screwed up my verizon account. the other day I went there because it was the virginia tax free holiday & I thought to myself what’s the worst that could happen returning there for school supplies. as god is my judge I stood in line for over 30 minutes waiting for both of their on the untrained cashiers trying to figure out how to do a return for other customers in front of me. 2 people layed their stuff on the counter and walked out frustrated with the wait. after the 20 minutes the manager came over to help out turns out her conversation with her to buddy’s out in front of the store was over and she was ready to do some work. I would recommend driving an extra 15 to 20 minutes and avoid going to this staples completely.

What make a Staples good? I’m not really sure but I know when I see it. The inventory is well-maintained and doesn’t look like a flea market(some do). The staff is courteous and friendly. On top of that, they always have what I’m looking for so that’s a good thing.
