One of the top boutiques in Old Town with fantastic selection of shoes and accessories. There is never a time I walk out without something (or something amazing on my wish list). Beautiful space, great customer service, and a fantastic selection. Highly recommend!

Nice selection of shoes. But the sales clerk couldn’t be bothered to greet me when I walked in. She never stepped from behind the counter while I was browsing although I was the sole customer. As I left, she called out something to me and I acknowledged her with a firm shut of the door.
I feel bad for this indie shop owner. She spent a lot of time and attention on her shop to let it be ruined with terrible customer service.

This is such an adorable shoe boutique and I LOVE swinging in here to poke around. The staff is always very friendly and I love the shoes they carry. My only wish is that more inventory would be stocked in the «popular show sizes.» But I suppose that pretty much how it goes at any shoe store. Prices are comparable to other shoe boutiques and they do have some really phenomenal surprise sales.

Dropped in this neighborhood boutique while waiting on a friend to grab a drink. Left with THREE new pairs of shoes that I couldn’t say no to! The owner helped me and I felt like I was shopping with one of my best friends. One pair feels like a glass slipper and the others are ideal for upcoming beach get-​a-​ways. Easy to wear shoes with fantastic style. Love her jewelry lines as well.

Beautifully curated collection of shoes, boots, sandals.
The service is super friendly, not hovering and always willing to help when you need a certain pair of shoes.
While the prices may seem high, they do have a range of prices.
Plus, check the small sale area in the back and you may find something.
Supporting a small, local business is top of my list any day.

Boots are my favorite part of winter ! Working in Old Town alexandria it’s great to be able to have the The Shoe Hive nearby. I found the perfect pair of boots for my dresses for work and back in the countryside where i live. Thanks Elizabeth

Good customer service is measured when a store takes great care of you, even when it’s not convenient for them. I purchased shoes through their online store and they worked in good faith with me when I found the size was too small /​a larger size not available. They kept the commitments they made, even when it put them out considerably. Really great service.

Great brands — I have gotten Bettye Muller shoes, Kate Spade shoes, and Dianne von Furstenburg gloves — and everything picked with taste. They have some cute jewelry and PJs/​slippers too. Mostly they are awesome for shoes though. You might want to call ahead about size, that is my only complaint — I wear size 35.5 European, and the smallest they usually have is 36. Otherwise, love it here.

First I have to say I’ve only been here once. If I lived in the area I would probably stop by a few times a year to see what’s available for different seasons. That said, while this store has nice, high quality shoes and boots (at prices commensurate with the quality) the selection was rather conservative for my taste. If I were to pay those prices I’d want something special and interesting. I didn’t see much here that really caught my eye. Maybe the target audience is a bit more mature and conservative.

But what realy got my juices going were the adorable python clutches and costume jewelry. This si just the cutest cutest shop with something for everyone. Sales girl was friendly and helpfull. Will be back and back and back and back and aback…

This shop is adorable & has shoes at every price point. I’ve bought shoes for $ 200 and some for $ 60. I’m a fan of woman-​owned, independent businesses. I like the personable service & laid back atmosphere.

I’ve been here several times, and I’ve always found something I’ve wanted. They have a great selection of every kind of shoe, from rain boots, to over-​the-​knee leather boots, to bridal. They carry a lot of brands like Tory Burch and Hunter, so definitely not cheap, but not that expensive either.

I wasn’t impressed by anything about The Shoe Hive. I went in to kill a bit of time before I had to go somewhere. Many of the shoes might be name brands, but they aren’t good quality relative to the prices. Most of them did not have leather soles, but ones made out of heavy cardboard or plastic. Similarly, I didn’t like any of the styles. Maybe it was a bad season for the buyers?

Great little boutique, and as such expect the usual smaller selection. The shoes they DO have are really well picked, I love that I can get my reasonable Sam Edelmans or splurge on a trendy pair of seasonal foot couture.
The service is very good, the woman who helped me admitted she works there as a second job just for the great shoes!

So I’m kind of going on a little binge this weekend, and I figured I would keep up the momentum on the other side of the Potomac. I went to Hysteria and Shoe Hive. Both cute stops and had fun, but I must admit that my beloved DC stops; Shoe fly, Carbon, Nana and Carmel put together a better 1 – 2 punch. But, a nice ride across the river is always good for some change.

I really can’t believe it has taken me so long to find this place! I’m in love!
The employees are great! They’re totally willing to help — rare sometimes in she department stores that work on commission and try to get as many customers as possible.
The store is small, so the inventory isn’t as extensive as Nordstrom, but they stock great items. The selection of Tori Burch, alone, is worth a stop!
I can’t wait to return as the seasons change.

After lunch at Restaurant Eve I was so excited to stop in to Shoe Hive. The selection that met me, though, was really uninspiring. I appreciated the friendly service but there wasn’t anything that truly caught my eye.

I went to this fabulous event in Old Town over the weekend. It is apparently a yearly thing. It is called the Old Town Boutique Warehouse Sale. There are quite a few boutiques selling their wares at 50% off or more. Yeah, you can hate me a little bit if you missed it, but there is always next year.
Anyway, The Shoe Hive was one of the stores who had a table at the sale, and I liked their stuff so much that after hitting the event. I walked over to their shop. Their «hive» theme is pretty cute. This store is in Hysteria’s old space, and picks up where Hysteria leaves off as far as shoes and accessories go. The Hive has girlie, ornate shoes and some killer (but cute) heels as well as slippers, hip sneaks… and more.
