I went in for take out. The food was great. I got sesame chicken with fried rice and shrimp rolls. The sesame chicken was above average and the shrimp rolls were larger than usual and quite tasty. My suggestion to them would be to set it up like a restaurant instead of the take out set up. Given the area they’re in they could have good eat in traffic as well.

It’s pretty standard takeout fare. Their General Tso’s chicken is great, their vegetables are usually fresh and tasty, and you get a lot of food for very little money. Can’t say I’d drive across town to get it, but I’m never disappointed, and it’s a great little neighborhood takeout spot.

Not a bad place for a quick take out. They do have tables and chairs for dine in but it’s not the most inviting. I’ve gotten quick lunch and dinner take outs and it’s been good. Veggies seem fresh, portions good, and priced right.

I’ve lived nearby for 5 years, and this place has been hit or miss, but I’ve finally given up. For every 5 orders, only 2 taste good. My last order was disgusting, and I will eat mediocre food if I can’t take it back, or try to re-purpose it. I threw my entire last order in the trash. What did them in was the sauce. I ordered a tofu with mixed veg. and also a chicken with veg. The brown sauce in both was very chunky, like it had been sitting around, had dried up, and then was re-heated. The texture was really nauseating. Having worked in Chinese restaurants, I know they rely heavily on powdered corn starch, and often make a sauce base they dip into and embellish for different orders. They use corn starch to thicken soups like egg drop and hot and sour. At the end of the day, a decent restaurant will throw what’s left out, or at the very, very least, skim off the top layer of coagulated crust when they reuse it. What a cheap, lazy, inattentive move to serve a customer something they themselves wouldn’t eat. So disrespectful. I am one of those people who doesn’t like to waste food, and I couldn’t stomach my takeout. I had to throw it out. I then also wrote on our takeout menu«NEVERORDERFROMHEREAGAIN» to remind myself not to get sucked into giving them another chance, no matter what the circumstance.

Pretty solid take out place. Not the best I’ve had, but one of the best I’ve tried in the NoVA area(although I didn’t try many places). Had the shrimp broccoli and lo mein

Horrible food. Doesn’t taste good. In fact it tastes like garbage. The lady was so awk when I walked in and during my order, looked at me like an alien. Never coming back. Pay 3 $ more and you’ll get a yummy dish next door. Ppl don’t waste your money! This place is nasty

Just tried this place. It taste just like all the other fast food Chinese places I’ve been to. I would recommend the lo mein and sweet and sour chicken.

Basic Chinese take out place. They get your order ready to go fast and make fairly good food. Though I have to admit, I almost always just get their pan fried dumplings and fried rice. Do good dumplings and I’ll be back!

I’ve now returned twice and even took the wife, who is much more picky than I am, and came away satisfied. This is now«my» Chinese joint. Next up is finding some Thai food around here…

Very happy with order. Reasonably priced. Dumplings, fried rice, and General Tso’s for $ 20 or so. The fried rice was interesting different — in a good way! It clearly was not brown rice, but also was not saturated with soy sauce in a manner that results in dark rice. It was white with a light fry color, but very flavorful. Additionally, it seems like most Chinese places just throw some(frozen) cubed carrots and peas in with the rice. Tsim Yung had bean sprouts in there, which was a pleasant surprise. Some other reviews slammed the General Tso’s. Maybe they had a bad order, because mine was very tasty, with a predictably moderate amount of heat — mild, but enough flavor to call it heat. My one«gripe» was the number of dumplings. I feel like most Chinese restaurants serve up 8 dumplings. This order was just 6.

They got my order mixed up, the soup was cold, the General Tso is supposed to be spicy, I asked for extra spicy and it was extra sweet. Will not go back ever!

I have ordered from here twice; each time the lady tells me my card did not go through. However, after the number is repeated to her, she has gotten the numbers wrong. This last time, she tells me it did not go through and the information was lost. So I gave her the information again. Well, I check my bank activity today and they have double charged me. I gave them a call and she says the line was busy and the payment did not go through(meaning I could not have been charged twice). I am looking at the bank information as we are speaking. She continually keeps saying«if» it has happened. ITHASHAPPENED!!! Then she proceeds to tell me she will have to call someone else and I should call back tomorrow. The customer service offered for their error is below par. Why don’t you take the responsibility of getting my number and following up with me? The food has been good, but will no longer order from here if I have to be alarmed I will be double charged and then have to wait for my money to be returned.

Their general tso’s is supposed to be a specialty, and spicy. It is neither. The chicken was rubbery and had a big black rubbery spot I had to spit out. I’ve been to some pretty poor parts of china and the food was better than here. I also ordered schezuan chicken, it was supposed to be shredded and it came out in big flat chunks the sidle of my palm. And it was bland. Schezuan chicken is supposed to be spicy. I will never go here again.

After experiencing the much superior vegan fare at Asian Wok, I don’t think I can go back here. Sorry, Tsim Yung, but thanks for the memories.

Great for: greasy take-out, steak and cheese, chicken and mumbo sauce(make sure you get mumbo sauce on the fries too!), and a newer addition-Chinese donuts(or as my daughter calls them«bald-headed donuts»). Don’t forget to ask for one of the super sweet homeade iced teas or(my fav) a peach soda!

This restaurant is small, clean and quick. The service is friendly and polite. Their prices are fair and they have the 11 to 3 p.m. lunch specials daily, which is a big help when you are on a budget. Their food is freshly cooked, hot and the portions are large. I always take some home for dinner. Their egg rolls are not too fried and oily, like some Chinese restaurants and are fresh and crispy with yummy! They also have a few large, nice clean tables where you may sit inside if you like. The restaurant is located in a nice part of Del Ray on Mt. Vernon Avenue. I have also had their mixed Lo Mein and it is the most delicious I have had in the neighborhood of Del Ray.

I’ll admit, I get a hankering for simple, Americanized Chinese takeout sometimes. The roast pork lo mein was good — exactly what I expected. However, the other two dishes, although different in their descriptions, had nearly the exact same sauce. And although one was a fried bean curd(yum) dish that was supposed to be on the sweet side, the other was supposed to be spicy. Both of them were overly sweet.

This place is our neighborhood Chinese takeaway destination of choice. They serve up excellent steamed dumplings with incredible dipping sauce, load nice crunchy veggies in the dishes, and will spice your food up Asian style if you ask nicely. We particularly enjoy their orange beef(wonderfully tender), pork fried rice(nicely flavored and loaded with meaty roast pork) and moo shu pork. Beware the lo mein noodle dishes, though: I think they fry and pile the noodles in the bottom of the metal container and then pour the remaining ingredients on top, resulting in a gummy, crunchy, slimy dish. Yuck! The prices are incredibly low for this area and the delivery is prompt. The people who take your order over the phone can be a bit difficult to understand at first, but they are warm and sweet, and will start filling your delivery bags with extra goodies once you’re a regular customer. Recommended(when you’re in the mood for takeout).

Chinese take out, plain and simple. Okie, better than that. Good Chinese food at a reasonable price. Their store front isn’t the greatest, but their food is served hot and at a very reasonable price. Their chicken dishes are very well prepared and I recommend the pot stickers and their lemon chicken. No real sit down place, but they do have a couple of tables if you need to eat and run. The food is good, the portion sizes are excellent, and the staff are patient and helpful. Update(3÷20÷07) — Truthfully, the cook has gotten even better! Try the Chicken with Broccoli too, or the Mushi Chicken, beef, or vegetables! All are excellent — just ask for additional pancakes, because you get so much filling that you can’t eat it all with the four pancakes they give you. Highly satisfied. Oh, and you can get the food MSG free if you ask with your order. Top waiting time was ten minites from placing the order! Talk about FASTFOOD!
