Other than going to Maryland or DC to buy liquor, Virginia ABC store is pretty much the only option that I have. This store is well-​stocked with a wide variety of liquors. It is brightly lit and clean. The interaction that I had with the cashier was normal. She didn’t offer to assist or anything, but I’m okay with that.

Your options in Virginia are pretty limited, so it’s ABC or well another ABC. This one is tucked away in the Kingstowne Shopping Center. Excuse me «town center» close to the ice cream store and awesome restaurants.
The employees are really nice, but some of the shoppers are surly. If you know what you’re buying and can be patient there are good sales here. Some products, like irish creams and such you can also get at Total Beverage.
Once in a while, they do get surprisingly high end products in.

You know — there is something about state controlled liquor that rocks my world. Fair prices, somewhat knowledgeable state employees running the shop, and a lot of stuff. They do have a pretty good selection of items that the state will allow. This location is sort of funny to me because it’s next to an ice cream place, which makes me want to grab some Godiva liquor and vanilla ice cream and have desert.
