Zero service. There were only a couple customers in the store when a friend and I walked in on a Sunday afternoon. After having worked at Nordstrom, I believe that there needs to be a standard of greeting customers when they walk in the door, especially if you’re not assisting anyone and standing at the counter flipping through a magazine. I’m not saying that customers need to be waited on hand and foot, but acknowledging any and all people who walk into the store and asking them if they require any assistance is Retail 101. If your store can’t compete on selection, then it should step up on customer service. Just my two cents.

So I walked into this adorable little shop shortly after opening, and I was itching like crazy, and had to apologize because in a four block walk from the station, I had 4 mosquito bites. Annie, the owner, was so sweet, she totally identified and went out to her car to get me her bugspray, and gave me some calamine lotion. After stepping outside to coat myself in OFF, I came back in and did some shopping. I bought the most adorable bracelet and necklace, there was so much more to buy. I am planning on moving to the area, and I can’t wait to go back to see what Fall brings.

A cute selection of modern(downstairs) and vintage(upstairs) pieces. I stopped into Zoubeck toward the end of my tour through Old Alexandria. I was immediately informed of the BOGO50% off sale(I somehow missed the giant sign out front) and started browsing. The modern pieces are adorable and they offer a range of products and prices. Some dresses were as cheap as $ 34 full-priced. I didn’t fall for anything downstairs, but after following the steps to the next floor my eyes lingered lustfully from one item to the next. A selection of vintage items I actually want at prices I can afford? I was in trouble. On a budget, I finally settled on a small ceramic kitten(I’m a sucker for cats) priced at $ 14. No BOGO for me, but I walked out happy with my experience. I’m surprised the store wasn’t more picked-through. I’d certainly be a regular if I lived in the area.

Girly scream! Super cute vintage & vintage inspired jewelry, bags, & dresses. The price range here won’t break the bank, but with so many darling items to choose from, it really can be dangerous to your credit card.
