After passing this cozy little shack several times to and from Tallahassee from Panama City, I finally stopped in when I noticed their advertisement for smoked and fried mullet – a Florida fish I’d been curious about in the few years I’ve lived here. I’m glad I did. The owners and customers were eager to share all about this great old Florida tradition. I ordered the smoked mullet, which was all I expected and more. Anyone who holds fish to a high standard will appreciate this beautiful meaty goodness as a treat to the palate.

Dont be fooled by appearances — Laropa’s has GREAT food! These gals hand-​select their meat and seafood for outstanding pit bar-​b-​que, shrimp, and catfish. Dont miss their hush puppies and potato salad. Eat in or carry out Thursday thru Sunday.
