I had a long distance move of a few items of furniture, and if I hired a professional mover, they needed much more flexibility in the moving dates than I could allow under the circumstances. Hence, the beginning of my saga… I found these movers on Craigslist and contacted them about loading my furniture. «Kevin» sounded like he knew what was needed.(When I went on the Uhaul website later to rent a truck, I saw they have a great service of rated movers which I ended up using to find movers to unload. I should have used the same service for loading, but I had already hired«Kevin’s» group, and I trusted they were capable — my mistake and stupidity.) I sent«Kevin» an inventory of the items and explained that there was furniture that was going to need to be taken apart and require straps to move out of a loft. The morning of the move, the movers are a few minutes late but two young men similar in appearance to the other review arrived with no tools or straps, so they went to buy some which meant they started two hours later than promised.(«Kevin» claimed he was not aware of these needs until I reminded him of the email I sent on a certain date and time and his response to the email confirming he understood the situation.) The movers worked hard, but it became clear they had never used straps to lift furniture out of a loft, so I was assured that more experienced movers would arrive. They did not arrive, although I waited until late in the evening. I eventually had to leave to make the appointment to meet the movers to unload. Also, «Kevin» and/or his wife no longer answered my texts or calls. I now have hired other movers, and rented another truck to finish the move — a very costly and frustrating mistake. For your sake, find someone else to move you who is trustworthy. This«company» is not the one you want.

I cannot convey how truly disappointed I was with the overall level of service I received from Extreme Moving Helpers. From the movers up to Kirby(the purposed«owner/manager»), I have never received such poor service in my entire life. I would emphatically urge anyone who is looking for movers to look elsewhere. The phrase, «You get what you pay for» has never been truer and more apt than anything I have experienced. I could pay a person off the street $ 20 and get better service than what I got on 4÷18÷15. From the start, when I had to text the owner 10 minutes after agreed upon start time of 10am, I should have known and canceled then and there. For $ 140 for an expected 3 hours of moving I received the following: 1) Two movers dressed like they were hanging out at a skate park arriving in a vehicle barely making it to the location. 2) Excessive breaks. Talking about personal issues between moving an item and going back upstairs. 3) Rude behavior. Often arguing with my girlfriend and not requesting to use my bathroom. Foul language and disastrous appearance. Appearance including baggy pants, torn skate shoes, and poor hygiene. 4) Damaged furniture and walls. Gouges left in one wall and deep scratches left on two pieces of furniture. I have the pictures and can produce upon request. 5) Dropped box containing fragile porcelain and keepsakes. Luckily nothing broken. 6) Having to move, with the help of my girlfriend and a neighbor, several items including furniture as movers stood around. 7) Instead of picking up heavy furniture, dragged it across the floor resulting in scratches. For each of these complaints, the only thing I got in return from Kirby was excuses and denials that this behavior was coming from EJ and Ethan. While the move was to begin at 10am, I was told that original movers had car issues and this second team would arrive at 12pm after finishing another job. I was then told 1pm. Then at 1:20, «any minute». The movers didn’t show up until 1:50pm. At approximately 5:45pm the ordeal was finally over. Because of the latent amount of idle time and lack of effort I agreed to pay only 3 hours’ worth($ 140). The effort produced from these two and the aloofness of the company’s owner, should have resulted in, at minimum, a $ 40 move. The disgracefulness of the service that I was provided was only worth the gas it took to get from Portland, Maine and back. At the end of the day, all Kirby could provide my girlfriend and I was excuses and guilt that his movers basically did the move for free. I am posting this review on , U-Haul, Unilocal, and the Better Business Bureau. I am not doing this out of spite; I am doing this as a service to the community to know that they should spend a little bit more to hire professional movers.
