The chocolate is pretty good but be prepared to break out the 20’s because everything is pricy

Everything about The Chocolate Season transports you to another place! From the handmade, original recipe truffles, to the chocolate dipped gourmet caramel apples to their amazing lunch menu(now offered on Saturdays, too), I’ve eaten may way through all-things-delicious at this quaint hometown, one of a kind, chocolate /coffee /lunch hot spot! They are always reinventing their menu and chocolate delights. Be sure to add this to your itinerary when visiting northern Iowa!

Favorite place in North Iowa! Love the banana Forster and can’t beat the haute chocolates in the winter! All the lunches are delicious, especially the Mac n cheese or the quiches… The list goes on and on! And they all come with yummy little brownie bites! :) They make artisan chocolates that are to die for and they almost look to pretty to eat ;P haha The owners and baristas are very nice also! Definitely worth the stop!

I needed a little treat for the drive, so I grabbed a hot cocoa to go and a PB&J bar. Both were fabulous! Looking forward to another trip through the area so I can try them for lunch.

We’ve ordered from the Chocolate Season on two separate occasions. The artisan chocolates are FANTASTIC — so many different flavors and decorations! Some have patterns on top, some have sea salt or other sprinklings, some have gold flakes, and some even have sparkles. They are AMAZING — pricier than your average grocery store chocolate, but TOTALLYWORTHIT. The brownies/bars are also sooo yummy(we tried the mint brownies). YUM! One of our orders had a shipping issue(it went missing in the post). I contacted Erika, and she fixed it right away. A new shipment was sent out ASAP, with an extra treat thrown in(the toffee with bacon — totally on trend. Sounds weird, but actually pretty good!!). I was really impressed with the service — friendly, and everything was correct or else fixed immediately and with a smile. We definitely recommend the Chocolate Season, whether you’re local or not. It’s a great treat for Valentine’s Day or another special holiday. Just make sure you’ve got someone around to share with, or there’s a reasonable chance you’ll polish your entire order off yourself in one sitting!

We had the pleasure of having lunch here recently while traveling through Iowa. We both had crepes, which were delicious, well presented and served with a small bite of one of their signature brownies. The entire shop has a wonderful homey feeling which reflects the charming personalities of the owners. Their display case is filled with confectionery delights that provide there is something for everyone. The owners are committed to local sourcing and it shows in the quality of the food and confections. They even sell a nice range of wines from Iowa! If you are in, or near, Algona, stop into this shop, you will not be disappointed!
