I received superb customer service at this location. The cashier was outstanding and assisted me with purchasing a laptop bag.

My lord, this place! I was in a(different) Wilson’s Leather last summer. I was on vacation and my luggage arrived without its tag. So, I went to a nearby Wilsons Leather to buy a luggage tag. And, they had exactly what I wanted, which was great. But, the entire time I was there, I was hovered over by a salesperson who seemed to think she had to point out and explain each tag on the rack to me, even though I was perfectly capable of perusing the choices on my own. I decided on one and brought it up to the counter to pay. The salesperson said to me, «That’s all you’re getting?» Yes, salesperson, I came in to buy a luggage tag and I’m buying a luggage tag. Fancy that! Fast forward to one recent day. I needed a lightweight jacket and, walking past the Wilson’s Leather at the Supermall, decided to go in and see what they might happen to have. I looked at one that was not quite was I was looking for and moved on to see what else was to be had. A few seconds later, a salesperson appeared next to me holding the jacket I had just passed on. Said she, «I noticed you admiring this and I really see you in it, so I want you try it on.» No, I was not ‘admiring’ it; I was looking at it. And, while it was a perfectly fine jacket, it was not was I was looking for. So, how about giving me credit for knowing what I want? Suddenly, the same salesperson was suggesting I try on a different jacket because she«really saw me» in red(even though a minute earlier she«really saw me» in white). Again, the red one was not was I was looking for. And, again, I really am the best judge of what I do want and what would work best for me. Despite all this bullcaca, I did end up buying a(neither red nor white) jacket there. But, while I was waiting in line to pay, the same salesperson asked me how I was doing on purses, grabbed one off a rack, and, you guessed it, told me she«really saw me» with it. Though, she did say it outright as the salesperson at the other Wilson’s Leather did, she gave me the same message: «That’s all you’re getting?» In both cases, rather than being made to feel appreciated as a customer, I was treated like I was not doing enough. In both cases, I was one salesperson-comment away from walking out without bothering to buy what I’d come in for and was now waiting at the register to actually purchase. One incident can be attributed to the individual. But, two incidents at two stores 3000 miles apart can only be attributed to company policy. It’s just not worth the aggravation. I do not see visiting this, or any other, Wilsons Leather any time soon.

I feel like Wilson’s is the king of a bait and switch store. «Up to 70% off» but they jack up the prices and then«mark it down.» They do have some nice stuff but the deal that you think you are getting is what the item should cost and then have a sale on top of it. Sales girl was friendly.

We decided to stop by during our visit to the new remodel grand opening at the Supermall. It had been several years since I have been to the mall and I can honestly say I have never seen it so packed(granted it was the first day opening for the new renovation). They had some pretty decent sales all around and we found ourselves at Wilson’s checking out the coat selection. They had some ok looking styles and decent sale prices. Service was way busy dealing with the crowd but we were still helped out by the staff. I do like that they had other jackets that weren’t leather and had some decent selections. My wife bought a couple coats for the winter and it was a pretty good price.

This is a long ish story, but says alot about the company. But I do like Wilsons jackets, there are some real leather good quality ones at the stores. Around Xmas time I bought a jacket over the phone(as there were none in my size online). They were helpful in finding a store that did have my size). Unfortunately the jacket was too short and too wide. I called the store I ordered it through to get the receipt, they said they’d call back soon, but a week later and still no call. I try calling a different store, turns out they sent it, not the first store. A very helpful and apologetic manager got the receipt to me within a week. Still annoyed that I have to physically go to a store to return it, as Auburn is 35mins away and Tukwila is 45 – 60, I head to Auburn before work assured it cannot take more than 20 mins to return a jacket. I called Auburn Wilsons many times to find out just where in the huge supermall it is, with no answer, turns out they changed their number but didn’t update it online. The real reason for the bad review is the extreme lack of customer service skills by the 18−20ish sales girl. Turns out the receipt I was sent did not have the bar code associated with my credit card. And as I only use credit cards in the holidays to get miles I did not have it. I did have the card # and exp date. But this was not good enough. With all that I could only get store credit(and by now I am beginning to hate Wilsons and never want to go there again). All a person has to do is say«I’m sorry this situation is difficult, i wish there was someway I could fix it.» and more«I’m sorry“‘s but never once did the words come out of the girls mouth. Instead I got«All you can do is take store credit or come back with the credit card.» I don’t get angry often but this girl ruined my day, so fuming I turned to Unilocal in hopes that someone somewhere associated with Wilsons will read this and send the girl to customer service school and give her a crappy schedule for awhile. then I might return. And I still have the f’ing jacket and might have to deal with her again.
