Funky Things

Oh, I miss Funky Things. It is such a great store, and I could always find something I wanted — even if I had to talk myself out of buying it.
Funky Things is first and foremost a purse store, and secondly clothes, accessories, and gifts.
The purse selection is fabulous, if you don’t mind knockoffs. They’re good quality knockoffs, too. My Kate Spade-​ish purse is still holding strong, looks great, gets lots of compliments and was only $ 23 or so.
The assortment is great, and they never have exactly the same stuff twice. The clothes are also inexpensive, but fun, and if you take decent care of them they will last. I have a sexy little aqua dress I got here for a whopping $ 17, and I’ve worn it to various weddings and functions with no problems. $ 17. I’ve worn it at least four times. It’s still in one piece.
They host purse parties with food and alcohol, they have a fun selection of hand-​made jewelry, and kitschy-​fun gift items you won’t find anywhere else. To top it off, the ladies who work here are very nice and good at remembering their regular customers.
Funky Things is a real gem in downtown Algonquin, and I hope it sticks around for years.
