John is the Best !! He is amazing… he knows everything there is to know about painting. if you. can’t find a color you want he makes it for you. My house looks great because of John and of course the fabulous paint Benjamin Moore has. My husband and I will only buy paint from John now because he is so kind and friendly we feel like we known him our whole life and we trust him and know he will go above and beyond to make us happy… again John is the best !!

I have the daunting task of choosing a wall paint for a baby nursery. If you’ve ever been in charge of picking out paint, you know that there are… well, at LEAST a million different paint colors that are inevitably extremely similar to the one that you have in your head. No matter how mentally prepared you are that you’re not going to be picky and that you’re just going to run into the store and make a quick decision, in the end, you know it’s going to be a long, ridiculous conversation trying to explain to everyone else the subtle difference between Caribe Green and Mermaid Green: (Mermaid Green leans ever so slightly more toward green, and the color will probably fade to green after being in the sunlight for too long while Caribe Green has ever so slightly more blue in it — why are you looking at me like I’m crazy???) I pass by JC Licht Epco Paint store on my way home from work every single day, and since I wasn’t satisfied with the 10 similar paint samples that I already have at home, I decided to see what sort of paint chips I could drive myself insane with here too and pulled into their parking lot. The store is exactly what you’d expect a paint store to be… wall to wall paint and paint supplies. There’s also a bonus section with a wide selection of blinds and shades for windows as well. I walked over to their extensive paint sample wall and went to town. I will note that I did visit the Benjamin Moore website and picked out a bunch of color names that I wanted to see in person. When I couldn’t find half the samples I was looking for, a nice associate just so happened to ask me if I needed help. I guess they have larger paint samples in the back, so he happily took my list and found the remaining samples for me to look at. We discussed a little bit about the project, and he noticed that I had written«*Low/No VOC paint*» on my sticky and wanted to know if I was still thinking of sticking with that. I told him that it was for a nursery & he confirmed that low/no VOC was the way to go. He then showed me a bunch of paints that qualified as low/no VOC and suggested I go with the one that had the lowest VOCs and was specifically made with nurseries in mind. The paint prices are a little steep. A gallon of Natura paint would set me back a little more than $ 55 per gallon, and the primer would be about $ 47 a gallon, BUT you definitely get what you pay for. I wrote down all the info that he gave me and headed out the door. I really appreciated the friendly service that wasn’t pushy at all. Even though the paint is going to cost us more for this project, I will most definitely be picking up nursery paint from this store!
