You have to reserve this parks in person at the Alhambra Parks and Rec department. You pay a certain amount for the picnic location and a deposit that will be refunded if you clean up after yourself. A park employee should meet you at the park, the signs SHOULD be posted that your area is reserved. We reserved ALHAMBRAPARK for my cousin’s baby shower. She arrived there in person at around 9:30 and park officials were to release the location to us at 10am. One of her friends who came had to sweep because of leftover confetti and trash along the ground. Our signs were not covered with RESERVED signs and no one who worked for Alhambra ever came to our picnic area, who did come to our spot? Some people who wanted to use to bbq grill designated for our area. We had to explain that we reserved it and they even pointed out the lack of signage. Luckily, they didn’t push the issue. I called when I received the cleaning deposit because I was a little confused. Since no one met us there, and the spot was not reserved, money was paid for services not rendered it seems? A simple POLITE declination of my question would have been good, an explanation on why the city believed services were in fact rendered, some proof that our party wasn’t at the site when an employee arrived(they had all our contact phone numbers) would have been great! But that is customer service. That requires some level of giving a shit. Instead I did get a very smug 8am phone call«Your request has been denied.» THEPARKITSELFISBEAUTIFUL. But I probably wont ever deal with Alhambra parks and rec again. Glendale parks and rec on the other hand were AMAZING. Please see my review for them!
