I’ve been pleased both times I’ve taken my Honda in for service; very good prices and quick work. On the most recent visit they replaced some parts on my car with extras they had laying around the shop without charge.

Came here after going to Midas and getting a quote on some work needed for my Mazda. Found H H through Unilocal and I’m ecstatic that I did! They are very honest about what is necessary and what can wait, and I had more work done for about 60% of what Midas had quoted me for less work. Going back this week for some other work and I’m a customer for life.

Always great service and friendly! Their prices are amazing for what you get. I can’t say enough good things about James and the crew!

They are closed Sundays & Mondays! I found that out when I got there Monday morning Feb 13^th 8am. I went back the next day and told James I needed a transmission repair/​rebuild and starter/​shifter linkage repair, and my engine light was on as well. First day he found that my transmission fuel was leaking due to a loose screw. I recently had the transmission fuel replaced at El Monte Transmission 4519 Baldwin Ave. # G El Monte, Ca. 91 731 mechanic there is John DO NOT GO there! Towards the end of the day I was waiting for James to get back to me about the transmission problem if it in fact needed to be rebuilt. I called them back and he said yes I needed to rebuild the transmission. I asked for a quote, he said he’d get back to me on that. The transmission repair/​rebuild is outsourced to one of James friends. The next day (day 2), the quote came to $ 1900 that would rebuild my trans and fix the starter/​linkage problem. I told him I got a quote for $ 1400 at the El Monte shop and if he could work with that, same thing he needed to call me back. Towards the end of the 2^nd day, I didn’t receive any phone calls so I called James back and got my answer. Yes, he could do the work for $ 1400. After 2 days got my Honda Passport diagnosed and priced, but it would also take another 2 days to get it fixed. Finally, after 4 days my car was fixed and ready for pick up. When I got there I started my car and it still seemed to have a delay when starting. I was in a rush to get my car back that I didn’t care to complain on the spot. I paid James $ 1400 cash, waited for him to count it there (it was in 20’s), got my invoice, and drove off. While I was driving I noticed my steering wheel was greasy as hell, and the car was still stalling/​jerking when I drove it. I had to take it back the next day for a review. They said they fixed the problem, but no difference was noted. All and all, James is a nice guy, but the quality of service there sucks, and there’s always a long line/​wait. Probably most of the service done there are the basic maintenance keep up. I don’t recommend this place for any major repairs.

I always get my oil changed here! I trust James and his staff with my car and my belongings in my very messy car! I bring my own synthetic oil and filter and I’ve been charged less than $ 10 for my oil changes! What a steal! I got my oil changed today and James told me that one of my rear lights was out. He also told me that he changed it for me! That was very nice of him! Great service!

Great service and they will check ur engine light for free. They get kind of busy sometimes so make sure u call in advance.

Still the best most honest place to bring your honda for repair, customer for over 12 years now

Amazing! Came here from the recommendation of an old classmate who has my same car.
Showed up at 8 this morning (workers didn’t open until around 8:15), but I got there at 7:50 and within minutes there were three other people behind me waiting! But I dropped the car off (no real waiting room here) — ran to the gym and came back. Car was still on the street where I parked it, but as soon as the guy who had checked me in saw I was waiting, he immediately took the car back. Originally they gave me an hour and a half to two hour approximate wait, and I came back after an hour or so.
Just purchased a used Civic and wanted to make sure the dealer didn’t «miss» anything. But they gave it a good go through. He came back letting me know the oil could use a change $ 20, and I had asked about the e-​brake being a bit loose, which he adjusted $ 10.
Mechanics know what they’re doing, they don’t try to sell you stuff you don’t need, and are honest. No wonder they are so busy! Great prices, and they’re very pleasant!

I was referred to this auto shop by my coworker. I dropped off my car here at 8:30 am on Thursday and it was already lined up by people. I was told to replace my suspension by other auto shop but James told me nothing wrong with it. It winded up I only did a major maintenances (hasn’t done it for a while) and the car drove great afterward.

I don’t remember who first suggested this place to me but I owe them — big time!
I’ve been a loyal customer for several years. It’s wonderful to be able to trust your mechanic implicitly and I absolutely do that with these guys. Although I tend to be quite critical with high expectations of those who claim to provide professional service, HH Motor Service is the real thing.
They do get busy at times but we have to expect that with excellent and honest service at the best prices I can find. I compared prices a number of times early on and then stopped wasting my time as I never found anything lower.

James and crew are amazing, honest mechanics. Family has been going here for many years and I barely decided to today, glad I did. Simple brake and rotor replacement with some fluid changes took about 3 hours and the price is very fair.
James broke everything down and showed me some techniques that I can apply on my own when doing self maintenance. Ultimately great service, no funny business, and fair price. I will recommend H H to anyone that inquires a mechanic. Thanks fellas I can now drive to the grand canyon with peace of mind :)

The BEST place to go for car repair! I had to have my radiator replaced and James charged $ 220, unlike Firestone which quoted me at almost $ 500 and suggested I may need to have the head gasket replaced for $ 2000!
This place is honest and won’t try to overcharge. Highly recommend!!!

My family has been coming to HH (formerly Hocks) for over ten years for all of our standard maintenance as well as more serious, albeit rare, auto problems.
They have always been up front with the costs and a much better deal than the local dealerships.
On my most recent visit to HH Motors, I brought my car in after the Check Engine Light had turned on a few days before. My car was checked and it turned out it was just that a sensor needed cleaning. They cleaned and replaced the sensor for no charge.

When it comes to auto services, I am a complete amateur. Wary of mechanics that set out to rip off their customers, I consulted Unilocal and found HH. I’ve been here a couple of times now, and have committed myself (I mean, my family’s cars) to HH.
James really tries to save you money by using used-​but-​good parts or generic instead of name-​brand parts. Not only will he make services and parts affordable, but he will also advise of the pricing as best he can beforehand.
When I came to fix the oil leak on my Corolla once, he said it would be no more than $ 45. At the end, when he was about to charge me $ 49, I mentioned his previous quote, and he said, «Oh, okay. We can do that, then.» He could have easily just said it ended up being $ 49 and charged me exactly that, but he chose instead to stick by his quote, and I truly appreciated that. That was the moment that I decided I could trust HH.
Two weeks ago, I brought my MDX over for a maintenance check. Although I had made an appointment for 9, my car wasn’t ready until 5:30. Granted, I was half an hour late, but I was still upset that my car hadn’t even begun to be serviced until about 4 p.m. Nonetheless, I understand that some things take longer than expected, and some people (such as myself, sorry) show up later than promised. At 4 p.m. James called and notified that my car would be ready in about an hour, and an hour later, he called again to notify me that the rear brakes were wearing out, and that I had about two weeks of use left on them. He gave me an estimated price for the brakes and asked if I was okay with that. I mean, who would dare to make such a courteous move as to ask the customer whether it’s okay to change the brakes? Rely on HH to be honest and to do a good job. The «office» and the «lot» may appear unseemly and disorganized, but James and the team find a way to make that work.

This is the only place I take my Honda’s! My family has been coming here over 15 years and they have never given us any reason to stop. The prices are fair and reasonable, from oil changes to rebuilt transmissions they can’t be beat.
The only down side to this place is how busy it can get when you’re trying to take your car in. Seeing as they only have two car lifts, they can only work so many cars at a time. Best thing you can do to save a trip is to call before coming in to make sure they will be able to take you. If not it’ll be best to leave your car with them for a few hours.
Once I was so desperate for an oil change I went across the street and even they commented on how busy Hocks Honda was. They must envy the daily traffic HH receives, probably not comparable to their weeks worth of work. Just saying.

AN HONEST MECHANIC
Took my daughter’s Honda here because of the reviews and because the transmission had gone out. James the owner quoted me two prices for a transmission job: one for a new transmission (with a one year warranty), and another for a rebuilt transmission (3 month warranty). Either way I was looking at $ 1600 — $ 2300 dollars in repairs but left my car based on the great reviews.
Four hours later I got a call from James with better news. Apparently there is a electronic brain thing that tells the transmission when to shift. James said he could find a used part and the total repair cost for part + labor would only be $ 75. Other than that one part the transmission was fine.
So let me ask you: how many mechanics would sell you thousands of dollars in repairs if they thought they could get away with it? I was prepared to spend a lot of money, and I’d almost bet anything that a Honda dealership would have taken advantage of me, but not H & H.
Obviously the very high ratings for this mechanic are based on a lifetime of him being honest and hardworking. Every business owner should be this ethical.

HH Motor has gained a Customer for Life or for as long as I drive a Honda!
A friend overheard me complaining about how expensive the standard Maintenance Service at the dealership was and recommended James at HH Motors.
He advised me to get there early and he was right! At 7:45am here were 7 people in front of me.
Car was ready when he said it would be and the entire service was $ 67! The dealership estimated $ 200-​$ 225 for the EXACT SAME SERVICE!
What a wonderful experience!
And I used Über to get to and from the shop… Awesome! Highly recommend it if you need at ride while your car is being worked on.
I now do not fret or worry about car repair… My 2010 Crosstour has a place to go.
